After learning my pentatonix scales I still couldn't solo or navigate the fretboard very well. It was like having someone telling you the directions to a store in a town you have never been. You mite get lucky or have a really good memory and get there. This is the roadmap! I can now visualize the different scales. I wouldn't be playing over my own tracks if I never found this channel. Thanks @ Now you shred!
the way i did (am still doing) it. is to learn the 5 scale patterns in Gmajor. play them everyday and memorize them in G. it seems like alot to memorize at first but its really not. then just shift everything around according to the song. i always look for pattern one major, so this song uses D major. all the patterns are exactly the same, just different frets. unless your playing jazz or classical theres really only 5 major scale patterns to memorize.
Just posted one based on "Words" on Bandcamp if you're super hardcore: nowyoushred.bandcamp.com/album/slow-1970s-odd-meter-rock-backing-track-a-aeolian-138-bpm-6-8-5-8
@@nowyoushred if you call that super hardcore, well i'm super super hardcore haha! Don't hesitate if you have other like this;) (from heyhey mymy to walk like a giant or dead man and other ;)). And by the way thank you also for giving one of neil's solos secret: the dorian mode with the 6 (always there), I never thought of this mode (about miles davis yes but not neil young:p).
Kortez the killer by neil young could make great backing track! Keep going the good work, I love jamming with your tracks. Greetings from switzerland !
Yes, just drums would be great. I'd buy the drum tracks for the other Neil Young songs you have on Bandcamp too. (Down by the River, Southern Man, Cortez). Thank you!
Is that, a No? I thought you were Looking for ideas, for your next track? Keep it, C, G, D, A, then double E, throughout, and leave that fancy break out, until 3 times in a row, at the end. That will tell the shredder, that the track is ending. Nothing is worse than a track that ends, in the middle of a Ride, and leaves you closing to dead air. And, a Huge, extended chord, of whatever key the song is in, should be at the end, complete with 2 finger rolling bass, and Mitch Mitchell style drums, giving the jammer time to do an Epic , fanfare closing. For example, the end of, inside looking out, off the album with the red cover, Grand Funk. Let me know, when it's ready for inspection, lol.
@@williambalfour8688 ahhh I thought you were just musing, not that you wanted me to do one! I just posted a version of the Hey Joe chords, did you check that out?
Yes, I Need this. All the other ones have someone else singing, and they do the weird break throughout the song, it throws me off, and remember to Hold the E, at the end, not trying to be bossy, but from what I've seen you guys do, I know that you are the best equipped to handle it. Southern yankee shredding the blues, did you check it out?
Email me the link, cabling2010@gmail.com, thanks, Also I don't do very well in B, I need a Red house in E, with original vocals. With E held good and long at end.
Can't believe it was like 20 comments in, before someone realized that its, Down by the River. Thankfully they left the C, to B, break out, they just interfere with the shred flow.

I need a Hey joe, with Real Hendrix vocals, and a Ton of lingering Bass like this one has.
In an alternate universe perhaps!...

Reminds me of that song that goes "what kind of woman is this... I think i saw an angel just walk by"
Let me see if I can find the HJ.

Ha! Agreed
Anyone who wants to see my work, type in, Southern Yankee Shredding the Blues. Its a blues, in G, off a Peter Vogel cd.
Can you make a 2 hour version? Lol
Zach, are you on drugs?? hahahaha
Now You Shred Jam Tracks Online hahaha high on life brother
It sound floydy cuz the Em to A thing try Em to A6 and that's Floydy....not on this track that would clash with the A major chord
True!
Dude where's the bridge?
I must’ve left it in my other pants
Great backing track to improvise. Many thanks Renzo!
Last year I recorded an improvisation: ua-cam.com/video/xdD-XNKlUzk/v-deo.html
