removing solo was the reason they got their player base back. I don't think they are going to add it back unless the playerbase is somewhat stabilized and people know their way around the game.

Official release will only have Squad and Cobalt. Though devs did say there's a chance solos and (to a lesser extent) duos can make a come back if the game does well enough.
