I love these cars....I got my first taste about these Mopars from watching the Beverly Hillbillies. The secretary at the bank would always have a red convertible Mopar and they would change as the different models came out. I can't wait to see what I'm going to learn from this video! Here goes: Beautiful exa,ple of a 1963. I've never noticed the rake in the windshiled! Beautiful interior! Gorgeous dashboard. Love it! Light years away from the big finned Furys of the late 50's...early 60's. I'd have a 1963 in a minute! Thanks, Lou. Thumbs UP!

My Dad bought a new 63 Plymouth Savoy 2 door but it was a Canadian car with the 313 c.I. engine with a 2 barrel carb and solid lifter cam from the factory. I ended up putting dual pipes on it for a whopping $37.00 CDN. That was right from the engine(stock manifold) right to the back with stock muffler. Same transmission as the one featured with a 2.76 gear. I ran 16.73 @ 82 m.p.h. in 63. Engine was rated at 225 h.p.

Hi Audie Conrad, Glad to read you enjoy the work that went into this car. Had a Friend share a picture of his black Corvette with a red interior, and I'd guess when designing your Ferrari or Lamborghini you can ask for red leather. Lou
Beeeutifull!! That is the perfect sports car for me. During a resto, I probably would've went with something a little better than the 318. But thats my opinion. This car is beautiful, I love it! Geat vid Lou.
A Perfect Fury... (might make a good movie title) Lovely shade of grey, I love the color combination! Gorgeous inside n out... Sharp lookin white stripe on the seats n red stripe on the sides... perfect touch. My fav is the side view, pretty lines, great style. Great story n vid, thanks
Absolutely GORGEOUS car. Yes, this is a Fury, (the Sport Fury was the "Super Sport" version of the Plymouths back then).... And those are "bucket seats" not bench at spot 4:15 (just a slip of the tongue, I'm sure) ;-)
Hi Curt Brennan, I reviewed the video and hear I said "bench" and was waiting for someone to pick up on me calling the buckets a bench seat :-) You're right, buckets. Glad you enjoy the car :-) Lou
@@loucostabile No biggie.....stuff happens. Hey are you gonna be at the Portland Roadster Show March 14-17? If so, I'll look you up and we can "talk cars" as they say. ;-)
Hi Lou! How are you? Wow! Great Fury, interesting model, I like it! Convertible are especially good. As always, you show decent cars! Thank you for the video!
Beautiful car! Great color combinations with the Magnum 500 wheels. I am a traditionalist, so I would have kept the original white color (new paint or otherwise). I’ve always been a MOPAR fan and Chrysler Corp always made great cars with simple & subtle designs after the atomic age of fins, rocket taillights, and the like. My very first car at age 16 in 1977 was my parents 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 with a 318CID. Beige on beige. Boxy and kind of boring, but I loved, loved that car! To this day, I would love to have an original or restored ‘66 Coronet in hopefully the same color. Mine finally disintegrated from ALL the rust and one too many transmission failures. This Fury reminds me of Jane Hathaway’s red convertible on Beverly Hillbillies. Another great video Lou. Thanks for the education and the memories.
Very nice! I've always liked the Furys & a convertible makes it even better. Ron's choice for the exterior paint looks great, too. Thanks for finding & sharing this great car w/us, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Glad you enjoy this car, and I agree, the paint / convertible combo fit this car just right. Thank you for viewing, and you're welcome, Lou
Glad you like this car :-) Here are 3 factors 1) Looks / Condition of the car (usually I like original or restored to original cars so you get a feel of exactly what the car was like from the Designers / Engineers, and / or a really well done modified car) 2) The Care Taker needs to be there to ask if I can video the car, and then say "yes" to videoing and sharing details on the car which most will video with me 3) Position of the car to video (sometimes there is a great car in the back of a garage I cannot get too) Hope that helps, Lou
Just beautiful Lou! Sounds awesome and looks just phenomenal! I love the colors of his car! The old push button drive. Gotta love it. Just a outstanding vehicle Lou all the way around! Thanks for sharing Lou!
They did have four-door Plymouth Furys. I road many miles in one. Sorry for the harassment, but there must be four-door models out there for us old guys to see.
Dad bought a 63 Sport Fury Convertible as I was turning 16 and that is what we drove. Thanks Dad. What great memories. Take care of this.

I always liked the body style. Heck I remember when they were new in the show room. He did an awesome job making that car that straight.
Hi jon lennon, Glad to read you enjoy the design and work that went into this car :-) Lou
Beautiful car. As far as I'm concerned, it's far more attractive than anything being built today. I'm glad to hear that the man drives it around.

Tastefully restored Lou - nice throughout. Are any car manufacturers doing red interiors today? They just pop!

Nice :-)
Super neat, beautiful car. Always loved the look of the 63 Fury. Huge improvement over 62. All 318's are anvils, especially those old polys.
Hi Nick Dulak, Glad you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
Just to note, check Chrysler power magazine. They have some of these "boat anchor " polys pushing over 505hp.
@@mikewilson7812 when I refer to an engine as an anvil I mean that you can beat on it day and night and it won't break.

I think the one my dad had as a kid was a 1967 fury but I’m not positive. I know it did have a 440 engine. Thanks for sharing Lou.

The good ol' "Poly" 318 AKA the "A Series" V8.

The "Poly" blocks had a lot of beef; in fact, a Poly can be bored and stroked to 400 cubic inches.
