- Hello to all of you,
In this video, I showcase the process of preparing my canvas for a new abstract cityscape painting. I mainly used blues, black, and white to create a cool-toned base and added touches of warm colors to bring depth to the piece.
To guide my creation, I made some initial marks using a long brush.

So beautiful! Your choice of colours and contrast has me watching in awe! I’m new to art-so new to that I can only aspire to one day creating an abstract cityscape. You’ve taught me so many things here. Mostly, I appreciate your sense of controlled daring and play with some of your unexpected lines and marks. Many thanks!

You are a master at scribbling paint with those long brushes exactly where you want it! I tried it and got a bunch of skippy jumps that mean nothing at all. Not as easy as it looks :)
Dear Yope,
When I first began using those long brushes, my mentor advised me to close my eyes and simply go for it without overthinking. Initially, I struggled with the urge to make everything perfect and kept pondering where to begin. But over time, I discovered that the less I worried and overanalyzed, the better my work turned out. I hope that makes sense! 😄
@@Mariemanon I am discovering the same thing, and the over-working thing is going away, slowly but finally! Still hard to be so loose at the finish line, like you are. I appreciate your videos so much, a warm hug from just a little bit to the south of you :)
Love watching you work. Can you tell me the type of long thin brush you use? Thankyou.
Hi Susie, thank you 😊. I taped a stick to one of my brushes to make it long…😉
I do watercolors but I found your video and found it so interesting. I'm assuming that the canvas is natural until you have gesso it with your selection of colors, correct? thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Hi Martha, I used a primed heavyweight professional canvas and always apply another layer of gesso with my favorite colours. 🎨
Do you like Picasso's landscapes?
Yes I do..:) what about you Alan?
@@Mariemanon The freedom with which you paint reminds me of Picasso.
Wave back , hellooo❤
what brushes do you use ?
Hi Sue, I use any kind of acrylic brushes some are expensive and others are very affordable..:)
