If by saving and reloading, the dead trainers are changed to tombstones placed in their original locations, you might be able to softlock yourself in the cape where the lass blocks the way to an item and a cut tree.

Always liked how Black and Lost Silver's stories never involved the game affecting reality in any way. They were the most believable in the sense that sure, maybe someone can just end up with a really weird rom hack. Although the community knowledge to make something to this scale wouldn't have been as possible back then as it is now, but still.
Older comment but while I like Lost silver, Black has aged much better. The writing is more tight and LS is flooded with as many tense splices as something like Squidward's Suicide. The interpretation of the events of the game near the end is also a bit forced and sudden. It would have worked great but felt some disconnected from the actual events in the pasta. Still one of the "better" pastas for gaming but it has major issues that put it down to a 6/10 IMO as much as I like it. Black is probably one of the best gaming pastas. It's tight, simple, and doesn't get too melodramatic or ridiculous.
It's also why I liked Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver. It did send the MC's brother to the hospital for mental damage, but they did eventually get over it and the MC played through it and while they were utterly freaked out and didn't want to play pokemon ever again (or at least for a while), they didn't go to the hospital like the MC's brother did. Plus, while it did say the pokemon's bodies were decaying, there was no 'hyper realistic blood' or anything like that. THe only 'unrealistic' thing was the ear-piercing screech that couldn't be turned off even with the volume at 0, and I believe smashing the game 'fixed' that problem, too.
EE:SOMS and Lost Silver were my favourite creepypasta back in the day, along with Happy Appy.
I absolutely love that he can barely maintain the attention span to read the creepy pasta or to play this auto-win rom hack. It's like an endurance event

Pokemon black and Pokemon lost silver were the two staples of Pokemon creepypastas. Honestly looking back they aren't the greatest but they're passable I think. Glad I'm watching the creepypasta hack while listening to part of my childhood. Reading/listening to creepypastas. Mutahars reading of them were pretty good

My favorite Pokémon creepypastas back in the day were ones that were little anecdotes in the universe. I forgot the titles but there was one pointing out how Sootopolis was basically a pot filled with water that would boil when Groudon was released (probably not scientifically accurate but then again this is Pokémon), and another that involved a Scyther hugging her trainer with predictable results

Something that I've always wondered about the Pokémon Black rom, is whether the game just plays out like normal if you were to play without using ghost. Well nevermind then, Pikasprey said that the author tried to play the game again and the ghost still killed them
Ghost killed Red after the Elite 4, and this canonically takes place years many years after the end of the game.
The Author listed that they replayed the game, but killed nothing with Ghost. No matter what happened, ranging from Complete Genocide to Full Pacifism, Ghost always ends up killing Red. Not even refusing to even touch Ghost changed anything. Game is normal besides the ending and, well, the presence of Ghost in the first place. Mewtwo is completely inaccessible because of this.
I read the Creepypasta MANY years ago, I may be misremembering.
This was what introduced me to Creepypastas back in like 2010 or so. High school was good with the world of creepypastas.

I found one of those as a kid. It was like hormonal teenager really wanted to write their own Pokemon creepypasta but was so horny they had to turn it into a weird fantasy about their Gardevoir falling in love with them. You couldn't really call it a creepypasta, but I guess for Pokemon creepypastas the bar is low enough that you probably still could
The only one I saw, years ago, was the one trapped on a pokewalker that "killed" the kid who bought it.
I think what made tails doll, lost silver, and sonic.exe so popular was because they were easy to recreate. I imagine Lost Silver and Sonic.exe wouldve been lost to the crowd had they not had their recreations made and tails doll already had the canon tails doll that was already creepy looking, so it was easy to cling to it. I guess its a similar phenomenon that makes movies more popular than books: easier to consume and they give us something tangible from the story.
It's hilarious how creepy pasta protagonists are always like "oh no, the events occurring are really scary guys! I'll never see this the same way again!"

Honestly, it might not even be efficient to use the Ghost given the long blackout animation. A serious speedrun would probably still primarily use Nidoking.
Given that some special enemies have dialogue after their fights, it might be faster to switch out to ghost and kill the enemy to go on like usual

I could swear this story was different when I first read it when I was a kid. It used to be where if you cheated and had a master ball by the time you climb Pokemon Tower and use it on Ghost, your game would corrupt and if you restarted it then you would have Ghost in your party.

Honestly considering that missingno can have a ghost as a sprite depending on what you do that sounds almost plausible.
I don't think that was a creepypasta, rather I heard that firsthand as a playground rumor about 25 years ago. I debunked it for myself by using a Gameshark to get Master Balls on a new file, but it still was spreading by the time I moved and went to a new school a year and a half later.

Pokémon horror games and fan games are so freaking good to watch you play, I absolutely love them. I save them to my rainy day playlist and comfily binge them all day
You should do more of these creepypasta/romhack games in future for a refreshing change of pace, bad or not. Chaos Black and Rocket Ver might be interesting to see playthroughs of for example.
He's already done Fool's Gold which was honestly great to see him 100%.
He played Pokémon Rocket Edition in one of his Jabadamazo's mystery box videos, but it was before the romhack was finished and I think he said at that time that he would like to revisit it when it get finished.
these creepypastas actually spooked me as a kid, i remember having trouble sleeping after i read white hand and i was too afraid to play lostsilver
i never read the lost silver story and so i only saw gameplay of the game recreation of it and i always thought it held up the most out of the older pastas. i think the game on it's own manages to maintain a more unsettling atmosphere even if it has a lot of the old creepypasta tropes (random gore for scare factor, "POKEMON has died!", etc.), i kind of like the weird surreality of it and the part near the beginning where you have to walk down a red hallway as it progressively gets darker without any music. don't get me wrong the game isn't like, a masterclass in horror but it holds a special place in my heart

okay but hear me out, this would be way more cursed as a modded version of lets go pikachu. The 3d model-cut to black-cut back to it missing would hit harder than the sprite disappearing, and as and added bonus you could make no wild pokemon show up for extra creepiness. the only thing is i dont remember the default ghost sprite being all that threatening, but this version has the same issue

I've always wanted to see this as a serious speedrun. I own this game on cartridge. Someone on Etsy put the Rom-hack onto it. I've considered working on it myself, but need to figure out a good recording set up. In order to get the fastest time, you must not Curse trainers, but you must Curse gym leaders. The reason for this is because of what happens at the very end of the game. The more trainers you Curse, the more time is lost at the end of the game. The reason that you Curse gym leaders is because they have a speech at the end of the battle. You also Curse the Super Nerd in Mt. Moon to save time. This actually does allow you to collect both Fossils (which you can do in the normal game if you do a walk through walls glitch and enter Mt. Moon from the wrong side.) I'm sure there could be some time saves with Repel and getting an Abra at the earliest possible time, if you're lucky. For all overworld movement time saves you'd just refer to a Pokemon Red/Blue speedrun. Further time save would involve not using Ghost in battle, but you must OHKO every hit, and never miss an attack, otherwise Ghost would still be faster.
For a "challenge" run of this, I made myself never use Ghost against the rival (except Raticate) or Giovanni (except for pokemon he only uses once like Onix) except for the final times. This game does let you use Curse against Ghost-type pokemon but not Ghosts. I also banned myself from using Ghost against Ghost-types. I then attempted to do this as close to minimum battles as I could. I did end up catching a Dugtrio to deal with Lavender Tower though. I might try that again with Vaporeon, which would do well against Giovanni to keep it as minimum battles. The later rival fights are difficult to beat without using Ghost with how much EXP Ghost hogs when you use it for all other battles.
An interesting trivia is that Ax461 patched the Old Man glitch out of this. Missingno can still be found with the Trainer Fly method. I attempted to use glitch item 8F to remove Ghost from my party, but enough code was moved around to add Ghost that either the op codes don't work or the bootstrap is different and so it just crashed the game instead. Another neat fact: If you go to the SS Anne at the end of the game, it's gone.

Strangled Red is one of my favorite pastas, though that could just be because CreepsMcPasta's narration of it was top notch. The thing is, though, if you go into it looking for reasons to mock and laugh at it, you'll probably find them, you need to be in the right mindset to enjoy these kinds of stories. Yes, most are pure garbage, but that does a disservice to the few good ones in that it leads people to go in looking for reasons to scoff.

if you guys are wondering what happened to Asprey after this, the police knocked on his door, saying that everyone he killed in the game he killed in REAL LIFE (with photorealistic blood). After that he sold the game, and then he lost the cartridge in the move. So if you ever see a copy of Pokemon Black out at a garage sale, DONT BUY IT. ITS CURSED

When he was talking about Strangled Red, I had to go onto the WIki and check if it was me who posted the comment about recording it, cause I swear when I read it years ago and was a dumb, gullible kid, I swear I said the exact same thing in hopes that there was something like that out in the world. It was the most believable romhack cause it never actually effected reality and was just a story told via the game

Creepy Black was my first Creepypasta and even to this day it's aged well for me. I watched it from Yuriofwind so I learned pretty quickly shit like Sonic.EXE, Squidward's Suicide, and Jeff the Killer will not pass and I've read excellent pastas like Candle Cove and Ted the Caver so I know what is good and I know what is bad. When it comes to Pokemon Creepy Black I feel it is one of the better ones, not necessarily excellent, but it has value.
I feel the grammar is dry and some parts are cheesy ("Oh I forgor the cart") but it has a simple concept that's not over embellished and feels realistic. While the author crying over the pointlessness of the game is a bit cheesy, it's a reaction I can empathize with actually. I can expect a hilariously bad bootleg, or some grimderp over the top edgy one full of curses and MK-level gore, but a bootleg which changes one key component and keeping it relatively "tame" is ironically enough a lot more surreal and creepy. Added with the fact that he found this as a cartridge and not some rom file online and it makes the game some sick joke. It works perfect. There's no satanic nonsense, just a fucked up game that feels like some cruel test of pointlessness.
The interesting thing is: I got myself to play it and you can just do it normally, ignoring Ghost. Dunno about the encounter rate, I only did the first Rival fight with Charmander. You probably receive GHOST if you pick any starter, because that's how it was on the creepypasta.

Lost Silver actually has a really compelling story. There are some additional notes made by the original author that add more to the story, you can check them out from the person who made the lost silver recreation. I think creepypastas are more fun for storytelling than actually trying to believe them
Y'all need to put some respeck on Pokémon Blacks name! IMO it's one of best creepypastas out there. It was one of the first videogame/Pokémon ones too, as far as I know. It will always have a special place in my heart, lol.
My favorite pokepastas are Tommy Boy(the one with the Flygon, just really fond of it), Jessica(the Raichu one), Whole Again, and Drought.

There's one I remember from way back in the day, I think it was a spinoff/sequel of the Gold/Silver one where he freezes to death on Mt. Silver (I forget what that one was called).
Anyway, this one sticks out in my memory because the main character starts fucking talking to his pokemon, and they respond. He fucking hugs them somehow (the story was a standard "I found/played a haunted game cartridge" variety) and gives an emotional speech to Red, who also fucking responds with some anime villain sounding tripe. Like partway through I guess the author just forgot the setup they were going with.
Does anyone else recall that one, or what it was called? I remember reading it way back when videogame creepypastas were the big thing online, and thinking it was hilariously bad even as a dumb kid who unironically loved videogame pastas. Especially since it was pretty obviously 100% serious.

It's like how you can't talk about an original Slenderman story bc the first post made about Slenderman was a photo edit with like a paragraphs worth of lore (later) attached to it

How often did this game crash for you? I have a physical copy (gift from a friend)- but I wonder if there is a curse limit on Trainers since it started crashing after cursing trainers once I had gotten the 3rd badge.
