Wow! Great podcast! I’m a tbi survivor and this podcast gave me an inside look as to what my older sister sometimes feels as well as my mom. I had my tbi from a 15 foot fall at the age of 6. I am now in my late 30s to early 40’s. I still struggle with my tbi but a loving family helps a lot to deal with this invisible disability. To Madelyn: your brother may never be able to tell you how much he appreciates everything u have sacrificed for him or be able to express his gratitude for all you do but TRUST ME he does.. like I do for my sister. To STACY: I love my mom. .she’s the best. I wish she could just have known that she didn’t have to worry so much for me growing up. In my teenage years, my main struggles were with social overload, depression and getting quickly addicted to things. So.. make them healthy things like exercise instead of bad associations. Anne: I never married and had problems forming romantic attachments. So I cannot imagine what you experience daily. But I commend you for how you are handling it. I did see an audiologist for musicians earplugs which block background noise but allow me to hear people…. But I was cautioned that exposure is also necessary.. so I don’t become extremely intolerant to noise and light.. You are all hero’s in my eyes..
