Hi, Danielle, I got him when I had a large country property and he was supposed to be an outside dog...by the 2nd night he was in my bed! lol he's been by my side ever since 😀
That is the best camping set up I’ve seen. It’s so well put together, you thought of everything. I throughly enjoyed your video. I need a walk in the rain, it’s the best.
Thanks, Eileen, My set up came from many hours of daydreaming during lockdown. I aimed for the right mix of comfort and simplicity. I don't like having a big mess while camping, wasting time setting and packing up. The best time for me is when everything is set up and I can sit back and take in the natural sounds and views of the area.
I love that you have all you need for camping, makes everything so cosy. Fantastic Australian backdrop there really nice area. Digger looks like he's living he's best dogs life. His own chair, he must feel real important. Can't wait to see your next one, so I have decided to subscribe just so I can see what Digger gets up to next. Cheers also from Down Under.
Hi, Craig, Thank you for the sub! 👍 Digger is the star of the show! I'm out on a road trip at the moment, so couldn't take him with me but he'll be back soon!
Gosh, I love your video! It was so cute watching your interaction with your lab. You have a great set-up....especially the self-contained cooking area. Nice scenery and weather!
Very PEACEFUL and relaxing. I enjoyed the sounds of the birds and rain. Your birds sound different Than ours in the Adirondacks of New York State. Great video and great dog.
Glad you enjoyed the video, Linda. Yes, the bird songs are very peaceful and add a nice element to the video. I'm heading out again, tomorrow so will have another one up Sunday night 👍
Totally love play time with your furbaby ❤️ He/she has her own reclining chair too! awesome kitchen set up too. Love the whole set up! Best of all switched off from electronics!
Hi, Alison, thank you for the sub! I’m out filming a road trip in the outback atm. I upload every Sunday night at 9pm (AEST) This Sunday’s episode is a little different, as I go on a dirt bike camping trip with a mate and his young son but the following Sundays will be the outback road trip in my usual, relaxing style 👍
I am not a camper but love watching videos of it, and just came across yours last night. First, I completely agree with tracker5849 as far as your dog Digger! How a person treats their dog Says EVERYTHING about them!! You and Digger are Fabulous together! Thank you for how well you treat him! Dogs give us so much unconditional Love!!! Your Camp and Truck set up is really Awesome and Cozy!!! I really enjoyed watching them! A lot of people don't talk in theirs, but I think a little bit of narration and description here and there is a good thing. I have subscribed and look forward to watching more! Thank you!
Hi, Margie, thank you for your kind comments and feedback, it’s much appreciated and motivating. I chose not to talk for several reasons. The main reason is, I prefer videos like that and wanted to make my own. I think talking would detract from my niche of giving my viewers an immersive experience of the sounds of camping and the surrounding nature. It also allows my channel to be enjoyed by non English speaking people. But, if you do want a little narration or description of what’s happening, I’ve started adding captions, giving the viewers the option to turn them on or off. (If a video thumbnail has a ‘CC’ under it, then captions are available) Digger, isn’t feeling the love at the moment, he’s curled up by my feet looking at me with sad eyes, as I ignore him to work on my laptop…I think it’s time I take him for his daily walk. Thank you, for the subscription. The next one will be up on Sunday 9pm (AEST) Regards, Frank
@@4X4CA Frank, thank you so much for your reply! I totally understand the non talking now as it does make perfect sense! My best wishes to you and Digger for more great camping experiences and videos!
@@margiedanhoff4966 No worries, Margie! I listen to and consider all constructive feedback. I started adding captions as someone earlier, like yourself, had asked for some context in what was happening in the video's. I think I will embed a note in the video to make it clearer that captions are available, as I, like many, were unaware of the 'CC' function availability. I better get back to editing if I'm to get todays video ready for uploading tonight. This one will be my 10th video...a mini anniversary!...its looking like it will be one of my favourites, I hope you like it too!
Thanks, Bethany! Building the kitchen was one of my projects during lockdown...its so much easier having all the utensils permanently stored in the truck, including a power source and a space to prep out of the weather!
Hi beautiful beautiful this is my dream and you are amazing and your baby great video and looking forward to seeing more, you guys are amazing together.😊❤❤
Hi, glad you liked the video! Tips for taking dogs camping? I'd say it depends on your dog and where you want to go. If your dog is the type to wonder off, then get a fluro/LED collar...if your really worried, there are GPS collars or a long rope. Other than that, it's just the same as being at home, plenty of food, water, a bed and some toys. if its going to be hot, take something like one of those canvas bucket showers to cool her off. As you know, dogs get hot easily, so think about a large shady area like a gazebo and maybe a 'pet cool mat'...I've taken one for digger but he won't use it, he'd rather sit in the dirt! Google the area to make sure the council hasn't put any poison down and keep a look out for signs stating there is bait in the area. Dogs are great companions while camping, have fun!
The area of the Australian landscape you're in seems very lush and inviting ...are you seeing any wildlife there in the area your in ? Looks like some nice eucalyptus there . Good to see Digger and what a companion he is ....
It is very lush there, that particular spot is what we call a State Forest, its used for the logging industry, so the public is allowed to use it for free, for things like camping, 4x4, dirt bikes, take your dog or go hunting. Unlike National parks that are protected, have designated paid camping areas, no 4x4/dirt bike tracks etc..they are more beautiful but you lose some freedoms...and money! All bush areas are full of kangaroos, possums, goats, deer, foxes, pigs, wombats etc. but I mostly only see kangaroos and possums, lots of birds and bats
another great episode mate, love the company you keep - Digger is the best camping buddy - even gives you an afternoon wake up call (face lick) just to say "hey dad how about sharing to comfy bed". cheers
mine is the opposite, she doesn't mind being close to me but refuses to get on my bed - which suits me cause then I don't need to sweep off the hair or muddy feet, 🐕😋😁
Lucky you! lol. Digger was supposed to be an outside dog. I got him when I lived in the country on 30 acres. (doggy paradise) I let him sleep inside after his first night of crying all night by the front door. I made him a bed on the floor next to mine. The next night he cried again, so I put him on my bed, he cried again. The next night I put him under the covers...he's been there ever since! lol.
Great video! and love Digger! your video came up in my feed after watching the Go4x4 channel which is very similar to yours. I have the same Oztent too, though I decided to get a small camper trailer where I’ll start camping in the Otways in Victoria next week. I found the Oztent to be too finicky in setting up and packing away. Cheers!
Thanks, Phil! glad you liked the video. I've not camped around Victoria but I hope to sometime this year...I've not heard of the Otways..I'll check it out online. I'm happy with the Oztent, but a camper trailer would be much better...its defo on my shopping list! 👍
@@4X4CA The Otways is near the Great Ocean Road, plenty of koalas there, though too high in the trees for Digger to jump at 😆. I found a second hand rear fold Outback Campers Nepean camper trailer for $3K in good nick. They’re no longer in business but on Gumtree you can find some bargains.
The Great Ocean Road looks....great! 😃 I'll get there one day. I've been eyeing up a forward fold camper, Ive not really considered a rear fold, why did you choose that type and would you choose one again, knowing what you know now? Maybe a rear fold would suit me better, as I have a dirt bike rack that sits out, over the end of my tray and would probably not allow a FF to open while still hooked up. The RF are cheaper too, I think.
@@4X4CA I wasn’t looking for a specific type, only what I could afford since I bought a house in Geelong 2 years ago and didn’t have much left to spend on any type of camper trailer. For a some time I was considering the Avan Sportsliner A Frame Trailer or the CUB Weekender or the Marlin Campers Cruiser because they were the cheapest in their categories, but still above my budget. So price became my only criterion and whether it’s forward fold, rear fold or side fold wasn’t part of the equation. I would have preferred a hard floor but that adds weight and cost. I had to make compromises based on my budget. There are so many models out there it’s bewildering. It is best to stick to locally built rather than imports where the quality can be suspect. Fortunately my cheapie was built here and is solid.
@@fatwombat1 I hear ya, brother, I think camper trailers are way over priced for what they are...basically a garden trailer with a tent on top, but many are priced more than many new cars! I think going 2nd hand is the way to go, it would still be cheaper to replace/repair any worn parts and you wouldn't have to worry about bouncing it down a rough track. enjoy your camping adventurers!..I'm just about to head out the door on another one 👍
@@4X4CA I love the closeup of his nose. Made me laugh. I love how he politely asks to get in the bed with you. And even though he has his own chair he wants to sit in your lap. Quite lovely to watch the relationship you have. That sure is some tent you have there!
Hi, Its an Australian Co. called Oztent. This model is an RV3 they have a range from RV1 to RV5 and a new SV range. Well designed and made, very quick to set up but it does pack quite long...most vehicles would need to put it on the roof...unless you have a van.
Hi, Dave. Its tempting to get all the Gucci kit we see out there but an esky is plenty for a weekend. The expense, space and weight of a fridge plus its power source isn't worth it, unless you are going on regular week long trips. I use a small esky just wide enough to be able to fit two 1.5L frozen water bottles laying down. I take the meat out of its original packaging (as it usually leaks) and vacuum seal it (not only does it not leak but takes up less room) I put the meat under the frozen water bottles and the rest of the food on top of the bottles (buying ice isn't convenient, melts quickly and at $5 a bag can start to add up but this way you can have a cool drink of the melting frozen water on the last day of camp or when you get home. The expense of the vacuum sealer is worth it as its handy for home use and if you do upgrade later to a 12v system for longer trips. I hope this helps, shout out if you have any other questions. 👍
your welcome, mate. ...if you do go the full fridge set up, an esky is still useful as a pantry or just for beer and ice! instead of taking up room in the fridge (beer out of an ice dip is better than out the fridge!) I recommend a small, compressor 12v fridge/freezer, don't waste your money/time with those 12v cooler types. For long trips a small fridge/freezer is still plenty, as you can just set it to freezer and freeze your meat, greens, herbs...and ice cream! just leave enough room for a couple of ice trays to keep topping up the pantry esky. If you have the room...and the money, go a big dual zone, fridge & freezer. any brand with a Danfoss type compressor is the go! 👍
Hi, Debbie, he’s very popular! It’s supposed to be my channel but he gets all the attention! Lol His name is, Digger and is nearly 7 yrs old. I don’t know what mix he is but he runs like a greyhound, eats like a Lab and is as silly as a boxer!…there’s probably Kelpie in there too!
Hi, Shann I make a fresh batch every few days of meat, ,mixed with vegetables, rice/pasta, beans, oats, a little bit of vegemite, olive oil etc I change it up using different meats (human grade meat) and veg. after dinner he gets a 'Scooby Snack' which is homemade jerky (usually liver) and of course through the day he gets any suitable leftovers.

Awesome! Doggie!
Thx, Jill, Digger was glad to be back out there...he loves exploring new territory!
@@4X4CA I love the closeup of his nose. Made me laugh. I love how he politely asks to get in the bed with you. And even though he has his own chair he wants to sit in your lap. Quite lovely to watch the relationship you have.
That sure is some tent you have there!

What is the name of the tent that you have in this video ?
Hi, Its an Australian Co. called Oztent. This model is an RV3 they have a range from RV1 to RV5 and a new SV range. Well designed and made, very quick to set up but it does pack quite long...most vehicles would need to put it on the roof...unless you have a van.
Do you just use an esky not a fridge for short trips ? Trying decide if I really need a fridge and then the power to run for just weekend trips
@@4X4CA yeah helps a lot, and prob just saved me a lot, will give that a go. Cheers
your welcome, mate.
...if you do go the full fridge set up, an esky is still useful as a pantry or just for beer and ice! instead of taking up room in the fridge (beer out of an ice dip is better than out the fridge!)
I recommend a small, compressor 12v fridge/freezer, don't waste your money/time with those 12v cooler types.
❤ you have a beautiful dog how old is he and what is name? I’m new to this channel 👋
Hi, Debbie, he’s very popular! It’s supposed to be my channel but he gets all the attention! Lol
His name is, Digger and is nearly 7 yrs old. I don’t know what mix he is but he runs like a greyhound, eats like a Lab and is as silly as a boxer!…there’s probably Kelpie in there too!
What did you feed your sweet little doggie??
Hi, Shann I make a fresh batch every few days of meat, ,mixed with vegetables, rice/pasta, beans, oats, a little bit of vegemite, olive oil etc I change it up using different meats (human grade meat) and veg. after dinner he gets a 'Scooby Snack' which is homemade jerky (usually liver) and of course through the day he gets any suitable leftovers.
Which car is this ?
Hi, It's a 2008 Toyota Hilux SR 4x4...with many mods. One day I'll do a walk-around vid 👍
Don’t think I seen anything come close to this camping gear..
Hi, Ruth
My current set up is an evolution of many years camping…I think I’ve finally found the right balance of simplicity and comfort!
Thx watching!
