Hard to believe Favara had the balls to smile at Victoria Gotti, especially while having the cogliones to have a backyard party. Horrible story that like you said, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Thanks for another great one, Mooney!
yeah but Favara didn't know what to do , he was going to go see Victoria at the wake to pay his respects , people came to him and told him to stay away , no matter what he did it was twisted in a way to make him seem un-remorseful, in fact he was distraught , it was an accident , Johnny Gotti wasn't going to hurt him until Victoria as vengeful as she was basically pounded him until something was done , Favava wasn't drinking wasn't speeding only driving home from work it could of happened to anyone myself or my father or brother. Killing Favara didn't make the pain go away Victoria , but you just caused pain to another family,
Obviously I don’t know, but I really doubt that it went down exacrly like that. Victoria Gotta was already known to be pretty crazy, And on top of that she was grieving the loss of her son, you have to take her account of it with a grain of salt.
@choossuck you all are funny. Call someone names when you don't know how it is to lose a child, and everyone handles things differently. And then another talking like you was there and knew exactly how it went down, lol. And the Gotti kids are good people.
I live in HB and this is NOT the house. It was the house right next door to Gotti’s ( facing Gotti house to the right). The house stayed empty for years after the incident. It was only a few years ago that it was purchased and fixed up. He was not dragged either. It was just an accident.
Yeah, I heard Favara was backing out and hit Frank while backing out of his driveway. As a kid in Brooklyn during the 70s, we always rode these mini bikes, except the cops would usually destroy them, or take them for their own kids.
Yea total bullshit about him being belligerent after hitting the kid. He was devastated! People forget he definitely cared about the kid cause he was good friends with his son, slept over at his house & they played football together. The daughter told the bullshit story about him yelling who’s gonna pay for the damage to my car the kid caused & then throwing a party taunting the mother. She used to say he was drunk but she stopped with that lie. How anyone could even consider this a lucid recounting of what happened is as absurd & ludicrous as the daughters story! The guy was destroyed because of what happened! He tried to go to the house & apologize but the mom attacked him with a bat! Thankfully someone here knows his shit & informed everyone that John actually knew it was an accident & didn’t blame favara but his wife wouldn’t stop. Horrible situation all around BUT do not believe any of that bullshit!

THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF JOHN FAVARA John Favara was a furniture factory worker who was last seen on July 28, 1980, as he was leaving his place of work. According to witnesses, they saw people beating Favara and heard tires squealing away from the scene. No trace of the 51-year-old man was ever found, and he was declared dead in 1983. Favara and his family lived in the middle-class neighborhood of Howard Beach, Queens. Months prior to his disappearance, Favara was involved in the accidental death of a neighbor's child. According to New York Daily News, Favara was driving back home in the afternoon of March 18, 1980, when he accidentally hit a 12-year-old boy riding a bike. was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead soon afterward. The boy was Frankie Gotti - the son of John Gotti of the Gambino crime family. The Gottis lived behind the Favaras, and their children were known to play together. When the incident occurred, Frankie's mother claimed that Favara was drunk when he hit her son. However, an investigation into the accident concluded that Favara was not at fault, as Frankie carelessly rode out on the street at a blind spot. No charges were filed against Favara (via Where's Mamba). WHAT HAPPENED TO JOHN FAVARA? After the incident, John Favara attempted to apologize to the Gottis for the accident, but he was met by Victoria DiGiorgio, Frankie Gotti's mother, swinging a baseball bat. Favara also received multiple death threats, and his car was vandalized with the word "murderer." At that time, John Gotti was rising the ranks of the Gambino crime family, and Favara was aware of his reputation. Favara decided that it was best for his family to relocate. However, he disappeared before they were able to move, as reported by Where's Mamba. For years, no one had a clue about what happened to Favara, but many suspected that Gotti had something to do with it. The Gottis were questioned, but according to New York Daily News, the couple was on vacation at the time of Favara's disappearance. DiGiorgio said at that time, "I don't know what happened to him but I'm not sorry if something did. He never sent me a card. He never apologized. He never even got his car fixed." In 2009, court documents that were filed in Brooklyn revealed what may have happened to Favara. According to the files, he was allegedly murdered on the order of Gotti. During one of the trials of mobster Charles Carneglia, a witness testified that Carneglia shot Favara and disposed of his body in a barrel of acid, per The Seattle Times.

I watched the one about the Billy batts killing, and subscribed, The First Gotti house has not changed in design just the garage door painted, you would have thought it would have been updated by now. Tourist reason I wondered?
How much has the place changed since 1980? Seems like to use that plot of land across the street would be only a matter of time before getting caught. Thanks Mooney! God Bless!
Great one MDC. I was gonna comment about that’s how chicken fingers were invented but someone beat me to it. Thanks for the story and drive along with you. 👍👍
I don't think 160 10 is the correct address. The entire downstairs is laid out entirely different and the upstairs looks different too. Very few people would rip out their living room and convert it to a garage. I bet the address is purposely misprinted to keep people away. Look around the neighborhood next time you're in that area for houses similar to the picture and I bet you will find it. Thanks Mooney!
Regardless of all the stories told about how John Favara was killed or all the hearsay of how he acted, it's pretty clear he didn't kill young Frank Gotti on purpose. It really was an accident and a terrible tragedy. The big mistake was John Favara should have gotten out of that area very soon after and stayed quiet. Another great ride along Mooney..as usual.
Thanks for all the details of this incident. It had some things (the finger bones in the soup) but told the story well. I wonder if he dragged the kid after he hit him. Good to see where it all happened. I do remember your earlier video about the hole, too. Thanks for including it in this one.
Why is that so hard to believe, him crying the loss of his son, ofc he was!! Mobster or not that doesn't have anything to do with having your life shattered. Another great story and ride along. He would never get over that if he lived to be a 1000. That diner looks straight out of the 50's like you would see in American Graffti, very cool.
Three interesting things come to mind about this story. If John really wanted to not harm Favara, even with all his power, than that is not typical of many guys in the life. Especially a boss. It shows extreme restraint, compassion, and fairness. Apparently he was a bit more complex than some gangsters. A good guy was inside the bad guy. Also, the trip to Florida when the work was done was a copy of the most famous boss of all, big Al Capone. He did the same cover for the St. Valentines day rub out. Interestingly he also had a good guy inside the bad guy feeding the distraught poor during the depression. Point three, Mooney who always creates amazing videos really outdid himself on this one. Just terrific.
thanks man this was really cool. i've never seen these places in real life, you did an amazing job of showing it. i never heard about the finger bones in the chicken soup, that's really gross lol that diner was sick, but i don't want to eat there just hearing that story lol

The thing I can't understand is why Travara acted the way he did? Everyone in the neighborhood knew Gotti was in the mob. Actually the neighbors liked a mobster living on the streets, because criminals stay away from the neighborhood. Also Travara seems to be Italian, so he should have known how mobsters think. By think, I mean mobsters are very old DC world. Even though the Police didn't charge Travara with a crime, he still should have shown respect. When Gotti's wife attacks him, he should have left th ed neighborhood. I don't believe Gotti killed him, because of the accident. I believe that he killed him because of precieved disrespect. On one level, I believe it was wrong to kill him, but on another level I believe Travara acted stupid. I would have shown my remorse. I would have gone to Gotti's church and paid for a years worth of masses for the boy. I would have gone to his wife with his by his side and expressed remorse. I would have gotten rid of the car.
I don`t believe the gotti`s side of the story it looks like they were looking to have any excuse to kill the guy no way was Gotti gonna give the guy a pass for accidently killing his son

Great video Mooney, I miss those Queens diners use to eat in them all the time. Thank you brother 👍🏻
It’s hard to find a bad diner around here
ty for sharing mooney tc
Thanks for always watching
@@MOONEYDashCam ty:)
I was around there last week, Keep the videos coming bro, Thank you!!🙏🏽
Hey Mooney! Hope you're having a wonderful day! I just subscribed. Love your channel and all of the content you cover. Trying to catch up with all your past vids. So engrossed it's that good. Thanks for all of the hard work you do. Keep on keepin on! Blessings to you and yours.
Waiter, there's a finger bone in my soup!
It's ok, the kitchen has just gone digital.
Hey Mooney...thank u 4 another great video...Good 👍
Thank you for always watching
This guy that ran him over should have moved immediately. Staying there tells me this might not have been so innocent.
I think it was truly an accident
Think if the guy hade a billion dollars he would have picked his things and moved to Bora Bora next day. When you just a working person things are not that easy.
@@charrua59 I agree lots of mitigating factors but if it wz me even if I had 2 sleep in the streets I'd hey the fuck out of there 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not sure that would have helped. The police would have gave gotti their address.
Another super filming :) Poland is hear :)
Domelxx always in the comments👍
Nice upload 👍 what a beautiful neighborhood first time I’ve seen a clean American neighborhood 👍 respect from Australia
The city doesn’t have many, you have to get out to the suburbs
I love story tellers and yours is quite different from the other true crime you tubers.
I watched the one about the Billy batts killing, and subscribed,
The First Gotti house has not changed in design just the garage door painted, you would have
thought it would have been updated by now. Tourist reason I wondered?
Thank you I try to do something a little different. Probably no big renovations because it’s expensive and John Is gone
Hi truck. Good video
Truck says hi back
of all people to hit with your car, John Gotti's son..talk about bad luck
He could’ve hit Roy DeMeo’s kid….
@@MOONEYDashCam 😨🥶
@@MOONEYDashCam 😂😂 I shouldn’t laugh but that was funny.
Snow is all gone in New York - Looking forward to seeing grass again here in Ottawa Ontario. Cmon Spring!!!
It’ll get there haha
How much has the place changed since 1980? Seems like to use that plot of land across the street would be only a matter of time before getting caught.
Thanks Mooney! God Bless!
This might have become my favorite La Costa Nostra Channel
I appreciate that
Just came across your channel the other day always been fascinated with these kind of stories..good stuff dude
Great video. Thanx. Sad subject though
another interesting video Mooney! im trying to get a yt channel going - its very amateur at this point tho, but fun learning things
Love your vids !!
Top man. Keep up the good work! Are you fro. Brooklyn/NY??
Not from Brooklyn but I’ll leave that a mystery for now though
Hey Moody maybe I will go there and order chicken soup with a side of Finger joints!

I appreciate that I have to do some more videos in your area. So much crime history there
Great video ! I have been intrigued by this story
Knew the story however your DETAIL was so much more descriptive. Sad day for everyone. Great work.
👍👍
Great one MDC. I was gonna comment about that’s how chicken fingers were invented but someone beat me to it. Thanks for the story and drive along with you. 👍👍
Always a pleasure to see you in the comments bob
@@MOONEYDashCam Hey, I’m
Just a BIG fan! But thanks for acknowledging me
I don't think 160 10 is the correct address.
Agreed
Common sense should have rein supreme , but he figured wrong , ✌️👍💪🙏🤔
@@MOONEYDashCam for someone young your coverage of the stories and areas are on point stay safe around those dicey locals , ✌️👍🙏💪🤔🤙💎

Oh yea great job once again Mooney !! Spot on
Thank you 👍👍
Thanks for all the details of this incident. It had some things (the finger bones in the soup) but told the story well. I wonder if he dragged the kid after he hit him. Good to see where it all happened. I do remember your earlier video about the hole, too. Thanks for including it in this one.
Thanks for sharing very interesting story.
👍
19:23 That diner looks beautiful. Just as I imagine Americana to be.
Very good information on a tragic story.
Thanks Oscar
Unreal details man ! Great, unique videos. Keep up the good work dawg
Thanks Marvin 👍👍
My only question about the video is about your truck. On which side of it is the steering wheel, because you appear to be seated on the right.
Oh, hell, you're so right!
thanks man this was really cool. i've never seen these places in real life, you did an amazing job of showing it. i never heard about the finger bones in the chicken soup, that's really gross lol
that diner was sick, but i don't want to eat there just hearing that story lol
"You should buy a mini-bus and create a mob site tour business." ..."Bravo story."
He went missing on my 3rd birthday didn’t know that good stuff man I subbed
Thanks for the sub Jimmy. Welcome!
@@MOONEYDashCam have you done one on dominik montiglio that dude had some stories?
@@JimmyT995 adding him to the list
Buying a kid a motorbike in the city is just asking for trouble, they don't listen as it is.
It’s a good way to become the cool parent as long as everything goes smoothly
Yeah man my parents were guilty of getting me and my brother one of the fastest dirt bikes on God's green earth was a 1980 CR80 2 stroke Honda what a bullet I was about 85 lb I'm lucky to be alive
@@NEUTRALDROP I was just telling my son that my dad was like that with my brothers. Mini bikes, Mopeds, dirt bikes & thank god we lived in the country. Back when NJ had some. But the funny thing is my dad was no gearhead & he grew up in the Bronx! Didn’t even have a drivers license when he bought a house there. Took the bus back & forth to the city.
Lol that’s exactly why my parents never got me anything with a engine on it. They knew I wouldn’t follow rules and probably going down one ways and all that stuff. I was spoiled growing up but that’s one thing they NEVER got me.
Well aren't you a cutie!!! Great video! Definitely want to check out the one about "The Hole"
Thank you 😁
As u know quite a few stars such as Gandolfini Robert DeNiro etc has autograph pics on the wall in the diner.
I actually didn’t know that
@@MOONEYDashCam yeah. I haven't been there for a while but most stars that visited there were on the wall. Now I'm wondering if they are still up there. Think that place was 24hrs if I remember correctly
@@Showtyme420 a lot of these places are either 24 hours or they close like one or two hours a night
This guy (Favara) was basically between a rock and a hard place. Do try to reach out to the Gotti family and offer your sympathy and remorse, or do you just drop everything and get out of town. He was screwed no matter what. Over an accident.
Very tough situation to be in
You get out of town. The situation wasn’t going to go away.
Great research on topic Mooney. I bet a video on your driving and altercations you have with other drivers is even more interesting ☺👍
Haha one day I’ll put out a video like that
@@MOONEYDashCam keep up great local mob topics
Great content as always Mooney, keep them coming
I enjoy your videos
Your shows just keep getting better n better.
I always laugh a little when I see the modest houses some of these mobsters lived in. (I originally typed "modest mouses," but caught it in time!)
Isn’t it it funny, over the years they either knocked down the 3 bedrooms/1&1/2 baths or remodeled into these monstrosities on tiny pieces of property. Right on top of one another & no parking! Insane. Especially like the walls, gates & lions lol
You would all be shocked to know how expensive those houses are.
@@hooper4581 Oh I know. Taxes alone.
A lot of mobsters didn't have riches lol they made a living .some made more then others but it's also about living and blending in .but if you know nyc John Gotti neighborhood is more of expensive neighborhood then others .Howard beach is a very tight nit area
That depends on who the mobster is , some are gangsters because that’s what loved to be , some are in it for riches , there for have to live in a mansion
Thanks for sharing video / story and the nice tour of my old neighborhood. Take care.
Great video
Thanks mike
Wow Mooney… sum balls to creep around johns house like that. People are still around and talk, I like ur show and all but wow! Good luck and tbh the cross streets with the kid were farther down… 87th-85th st
Heavy story, terrible ending. Thank you for the tour and story. 😘
Nice video Monney love your videos , I really appreciate your work be safe in your travels out there bless my brother
🤘👍
Great video. Very informative. Thanks for all the work and effort you put into it.
Better than any film, brilliant 👍
Thanks a lot Paul
4:00 Lenny’s is one of the best restaurants, been there many times. Also New Park Pizza up the block from it is great too.
great stuff. If Favara really dragged the kid 200 feet and then copped that attitude coming out of the car, then he's a huge POS.
Again, do you really believe that?
I don`t believe the gotti`s side of the story it looks like they were looking to have any excuse to kill the guy no way was Gotti gonna give the guy a pass for accidently killing his son
From what I understand it seemed like John was going to let it slide but Victoria pushed for the murder
@@MOONEYDashCam You can understand a mothers hurt and anger at losing her child but she knew what Gotti would do to the guy, she could have saved his life it was an accident and i don`t believe he dragged the child with the car so many different accounts of what happened thank`s mooney !
Not to many people I know would give a pass to someone who caused the death of their kid. Not everyone would murder the person but most would want to
My ex father in law lived in Howard Beach. We’ve been to that diner late 80’s and 90’s
Funny to think that you could have sat at the same table as the finger soup
Why did Favara stick around so long? RIP everybody involved...
