I remember that 12 months ago I couldn't do this at all. Now I can and I'm moving from Beginning Band to Jazz Band. Yay.

The world needs more music instructors like Mr. Glynn. Practical and unassuming, with the understanding that learning anything is about growth, e.g. the journey rather than the destination. Well presented.

Thanks so much for this video. I'm a trumpet player trying to learn the trombone as my low double instrument and I'm having trouble staying consistent. Cheers for this video!

This worked for me, I can play all the positions and notes now, workin' on my tone; learnt "Saints go Marchin' In" and the 2nd line just in time for Saints football games, thanks Mr. Glynn!

Thanks to the tutorial. My principal instrument is cello. My bucket list is to learn the trombone. I tried my hand at flute, almost the perfect embouchure. However, my band teacher said if you can play the cello, you can play the trombone. Looks easy and fun to play.

Thank you very much. should you feel a tingle like vibration when blowing air out? ids that the buzzing? You say use your stomach, Meaning fill it up or are we supposed to suck in stomach while blowing out contracting stomach muscles or is stomach to store more air not sucking stomach in while blowing out? I hope something made sense there. Sorry first time. Are supposed to something like saying the word "too" or just blow thru closed lips. Thanks again.

when he says "use your stomach" he means to use your abdominal muscles to push the air out faster

for me, it took 4 years to be able to play with a good tone. now I can reach B flat an octave above the B flat on top of the concert scale. but all I can say is practice practice and practice. sometimes it's okay to play through the side of your mouth, but it will be awkward to shift around while playing songs as they gradually get harder as you get better. just work on your facial muscles to make your mouth tighter and use LOTS of air. you can blast it at first but as you get better you'll be able to control the volume and tone
