Traxxas needs to do a recall on the raptor r and how bad it overheats. It was 48 degrees here today, and the motor and esc get super hot, and it's going into protection. i have even put the 19t gear in it. Mind you, it's getting hot doing short runs on the road. With the body off, it doesn't do it.
I understand U.S. customers aren’t qualified for this recall, but do we need to be concerned? I have 9-10 vehicles from the list that would qualify. Do I need to be concerned for my family and I? Are we ok as long as we don’t eat the slippers/brakes? 🤞
Being that the pads are so small and covered I assume the risk is extremely minimal. It can’t be as bad as the dyes and such they put in the food we eat and that is allowed In America. 🤷🏽♂️😂. I am hearing traxxas may honor this recall in the states. I haven’t confirmed though.
No he has nothing to worry about. I’ve already had a long discussion about this in another video. I have been OSHA certified in several classes on asbestos in order to receive my plumbing license. These parts in question (clutch slipper pads and brake discs) weigh at most a couple of grams, and they are not pure asbestos. You literally have nothing to worry about unless you are standing over a grinding wheel all day long grinding up your clutch discs and inhaling the dust. Mesotheliomais a real concern with asbestos, but that’s only in very high exposure amounts or very long periods of exposure. The only risk is via heavy inhalation, not touching it or anything else. Traxxas is only doing this to cover themselves legally. Don’t let this crap scare you, people!
@ yes. The intro was all In fun but this shouldn’t scare anyone. There are far worse things around us daily than a small piece inside of our RC car. 🙌🏼
EVERY traxxas I own is affected. Nitro Revo 3.3, Nitro Slayer 3.3, Nitro T-Maxx, Nitro Rustler and even my sons Traxxas Stampede 2wd. Maybe I shouldn't put much thought into it tho as I work on real cars brakes and stuff that are known to contain and even BE actual asbestos
The concern here appears to be rather over-inflated... While exposure to asbestos fibers is a health concern to those who work around industrial settings or work as brake mechanics on trucks, busses or cars, the miniscule "exposure" that can be found here is being exaggerated in my opinion. The US banned the use of asbestos in 1989, but for some use within the medical and scientific fields. Why the recall doesn't apply here is likely a product of our environmental piles of rules, regulations and foolishness vs European environmental rules, regulations and lunacy... At any rate, I doubt that its worth getting worked up about.
The reason it doesn't effect the U.S. Is it has no asbestos ban. A small trace to a adult can be a large trace to a kid.
I assure you, ALL traxxas friction pads are contaminated. Just replace them with aluminum pads
I got freaked out about this and ended up purchasing a slipper clutch eliminator.
Better to do an aluminum clutch. But best to buy all new parts
I want to get the replacement part for the mini erevo

The friction pads are so small you would have to sniff the dust 10 times a day before you have any affect from it 😮😅😅😅

Will we actually have to return the whole vehicle to them?
I have a 2010 Slash 4x4 Ultimate... Is it safe to assume Traxxas only listed the Slash 4x4 to cover all models?
@@Improvise_Adapt_0vercome perhaps. They also included the serial number range too.
If it has a center differential instead of the slipper you have nothing to worry about
Nothing is stock so basically all my cars don’t have the serial number but I do have the boxes and especially my mid motor bandit
the reason it does not aply in the usa is because the usa has no ban for aspestos

So does this mean that new parts purchased from traxxas are free of asbestos?
I bought a 2wd rustler in aug 2024

People are worried bout this but not the cancer causing chemicals they intake everyday via Tap Water 😂

Traxxas gave me cancer! Sue em!
