Never apologize for Kirsty appreciation. As a vocalist, I am also bowled over by her singing. She's stupendously talented. Mitch's talent is shockingly glorious, yes, but Kirsty's is gorgeous They're all incredibly talented, in distinctive ways-- a truly spectacular group of individuals.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 just by listening to the lyrics you can tell - but it’s interspersed with biblical (not Christmas) references, but the whole world (maybe not the Middle East), thinks of it as a Christmas song, simply because it’s called Hallelujah.
Oh I’m so glad that he got to hear and respond to it before he died. When did he say it? On air, or magazine/paper interview? That was so nice of him to say.
I call “Say Something” devastatingly beautiful, I was so pleased Kirstie had such a prominent lead in the song that showcased her vocals. Such a tender, sad, yet gorgeous song delivered in a typical PTX emotional blanket
The Basso Profundo you heard is Avi. He's super talented. (They all are) However, I always hear his warm emotional and supportive lows above all. When Avi does his solo Scott takes on the bass. For a live look at them performing Hallelujah that will know your socks off I've provided the link. Hallelujah - Pentatonix (From A Pentatonix Christmas Special) - UA-cam
In my humble, middle aged opinion, PTX cover of "Gold" by Kiiara is absolutely one of the most brilliant performances of theirs I have seen. They're just sitting on a couch together and what they do is mindblowing. You have to watch it several time so you can focus on each one as they do their part. It's amazing and I hope you react to it.
@@mrelixertv Oh, yes! ""Gold is a one-take masterpiece. And you really do need to listen to the original by Kiiara to appreciate the amazing upgrade PTX gave it. Mitch does a series of vocal chops that Kiiara needed digital help to create.

The live version of this from their Christmas special is just as amazing!! And that bass line is Avi through most of the song, but Scott when Avi is singing. And your Mitch Slapped facec is great!
Great reaction! I have to giggle each time you call Mitch a problem child or Dennis the Menace, that's really cute! He never fails to amaze me and I second the recommendation for "Gold", it's mindblowing.. and I wanna add "Problem", if you haven't done it yet

Since you love Kirstie, I recommend their covers of Shallow, My Favorite Things, and Rather Be, or their originals Be My Eyes, Exit Signs, and It's Different Now. They are all Kirstie leads. 😁
there is a live version of this performance, you should check it out. Also, their video Imagine originally done by John Lennon of the Beatles. They do a fantastic job with the Grinch.
With you being a big Kirstie fan you should watch their cover of seasons of love. By far my favorite performance from her and her best imo. Love the vids keep it up!
When you do Christmas - start with their Mary Did You Know. It’s the original PTX lineup and I’m sure that that’s what confirmed in their minds that they can own the Christmas season music genre! And they DO Own It!! 😄🤗
The confusing lyrics are Old Testament references to Sampson and Delilah and also David and Bathsheba. In both cases "love" turns out to be rather destructive.
Mitch is a chameleon, always changing. Kirsty changes a lot as well. By the way that's not the highest for Mitch yet! Check out Can you feel the love tonight!

I kinda realize that after I went back and listen to it after I did the reaction and I was like it does have a gospel feel to it but this sounds like a twist about a someone
Yes the live performance of "Aha!" in Singapore is insane. Recorded on a cellphone and the audio quality isn't the best but it doesn't matter. Avi blows out the speakers with a really low note and Mitch With the Pitch hits a crazy high note!
It's not a religious song, except in that religion is often all through what people do. Although the lines about breaking a throne and cutting hair *could* be construed as references to the Old Testament. Kirsten has "a voice like a blade," to use the words if an Italian vocal coach who did some very detailed analyses of this and a couple of other PTX songs. The contrast of Avi and Mitch (and later on, Matt and Mitch) is something that PTX likes to use for drama. Yes, it's not hard for Mitch to do that! I really appreciate the comparison to Andre 3000 - so many people don't even want to try to understand Mitch. Do check out Say Something and Shallow - they are great Kirstin showcases (and both also feature Kevin and his cello).
How did I miss this notification??? Was it taken down and re-uploaded? I'm going to have to check your channel more often. You are in my top 5 favorite reactors. Mitch has unbelievable vocal control and all of ptx has talked about that. If they ever think they might be off pitch live they said they listen for Mitch.
I doubt you come back to read comments now. But, Broke his throne and cut his hair, is a reference to Samson and Delilah. Although this is not strictly a religious song if you read the lyrics.
I read most (attempt) to read all my comments...may not get to answer all back lol gets a lot to keep up with but I am always in learning mode ... appreciate you sharing that info I literally did not pick up on that
This song was not famous when it was first made. Is based in old stories from the bible when people that even though they were weak and troubled they were still able to pull out a faith filled "Halleluiah" of hope. A hope that says that everything will be ok at the end. So as in our situations of weakness and sin we must have the same fortitude to trust God with the same Halleluiah of hope. As to say to the kings of kings that we trust his will. Verses were added through time to this song. It evolved... Much later from it's creation is when the song took form and people understood and immortalized these words in song.
My man, this song sounds beautiful and i love it, but it doesn't go on a Christmas playlist or a religious playlist. This song is actually the opposite of that. Google if this song is a Christmas song and you will see.
Yes I am ...im still somewhat of a newbie to football tho just start watching about 6 years ago and it's was the Steelers that made me want to learn the game and got me excited to watch ...I was always more of an NBA only person but now I'm definitely into football
Although this song uses the word "Hallelujah", this is not a religious song at all. The writer of this song, Leonard Cohen, was a self-avowed atheist. And while there is some religious imagery in this song, especially in the first couple of verses, it's all mixed-up. Cohen described the meaning of his lyrics like this: “This world is full of conflicts and full of things that cannot be reconciled. But there are moments when we can… reconcile and embrace the whole mess, and that’s what I mean by ‘Hallelujah’. The song explains that many kinds of hallelujahs do exist, and all the perfect and broken hallelujahs have equal value. It’s a desire to affirm my faith in life, not in some formal religious way but with enthusiasm, with emotion.”
I call him a problem child because he is that talented 😆 it's just literally for entertainment purpose the ptx fans understand I mean nothing slandering by it and not replace he fact that I don't know his name is Mitch ....and if you remember Dennis was a menace basically what Mitch's voice does to these tracks lol 😆 be a PROBLEM but in a good way
