I am absolutely honestly surprised that Anakin Skywalker didn't immediately try to kill Darth Maul right when he had the chance to do so, as Darth Maul had done so many absolutely Inhumane things before, during, and after The Phantom Menace.
Anakin was in a vulnerable state, he knew he couldnt fight Maul in the state he was in.
Now, if he heard Padme was dead, then he might go for the kill, but hearing she was alive, would be enough to keep him rational enough

tbh i'd of thought ventress as a better option bc of the closer relation to the night sisters. I'm sad more fanfics don't use ventress or other lesser known characters in scenarios.
I must say, I'd worried that this might be a quick story, due to Palpatine being defeated and seemingly nobody there to rescue Vader. But it seems you've thought of a way to continue this, with Tarkin taking over (while he was later made Grand Moff, I think Mas Ameda or whatever his name was would likely be Palpatine's successor in the event Palpatine died.) Also, I'd never even thought of the possibility of Maul rescuing Vader. It is possible that he would, though. While he wanted Anakin dead in canon, that was because he thought Anakin was going to become the new apprentice of Sidious, and he was jealous. However, here, Sidious is dead (though I'm not sure Maul knows that as he just escaped Order 66 and probably hasn't had time to watch the news, though, being a Sith, he likely sensed the death in the Force) and , yes, he may see the similarities between himself and Vader: cut down by the Jedi and left to die. And even if he thinks Sidious did that to him, he's been there before too and can sympathize.

The use of the x-wing's and the redesigning of the venator class star destroyers would together make for a good short - midterm counter to thrawn's empire but longterm something more is needed. Especially if thrawn's tie defender program is reinstated and given priority. In such a situation the Republic would be in a very serious and dangerous situation. The redesigned venator class needs better military grade shields possibly of Mon calamari design and should also be somewhat modular for ease of maintenance, repair, modification and upgrade. Examples of this concept are the Mellennium Falcon and the ghost both corellian designed ships and easy to modify. Eventually the new Republic Navy will need to fight toe to toe against thrawn's empire and the venator's and x-wing's by themselves won't be enough the new Republic needs new generation of capital class starships designed for war along with the support ships and fighters to badassed complement them.

I really don't think that Anakin Skywalker would have willingly chosen to have allied himself with Darth Maul, as the latter is partially to blame for Anakin Skywalker losing the Father that he so desperately needed for himself way back when Anakin Skywalker was still a kid.
What if Palpatine and Sidious were actually two separate people like the Jedi originally thought?
I suggested this one on a different channel too but I thought it'd be good to suggest it here too. Obviously, if you choose to do it you can take it in any direction you wanted, but it'd be interesting if, in such a scenario, Palpatine was actually a good, well-meaning character who just got power hungry along the way and Sidious was, well, the true bad guy.

How ironic it is that Maul would still end up dead at the end of it all. But only because Anakin, in this iteration had, as you said, saw his wife and realized the truth, enough so to turn back to the light once more and do what is right for him to do.

Here's an idea for you, change as little as possible of the events that we see in the prequel movies, the major changes are as follows. First the Jedi council arranged the war instead of the Sith, Dooku officially left the order but was pretending to be a Sith while still taking orders from the council and Sidious is Sifo-Dyas. Second the real Sith lord, Palpatine, discovers the Jedi plot through the force, but has no hard evidence, during the course of the war he slowly gathers it. Third, instead of Anakin seeing Padme die in his dreams he sees her and the council planning the war. He doesn't want to believe it. Palpatine tells him the truth but in the process reveals that he is the Sith Lord. Anikin is still conflicted so Palpatine tells him to tell the Jedi that Palpatine is a Sith, that he will see the truth in their actions. Fourth, Palpatine justifies Order 66 by arguing that the problem is the Jedi Order it's self. Fifth, Anakin is still in denial about Padme's involvement, until Mustafar, where he realizes that the dreams are true, she was only using him.

So happy to see this. A new perspective and a different set of events rather than seeing things follow similar paths from other what if storylines. This is what's needed, imo.
Nothing wrong with the others...but a good part feels like they're just following a narrative that's been pre-set. I personally believe that by going outside the born it also feeds the imagination.

Are Palpatine's lightsaber skills overrated? In my opinion, Palpatine, and all rule of two Sith minus Dooku and Vader are given levels of skill they don't deserve. With the rule of two, and their hiding in recent years, it's impossible for the Sith to have any experience with combat against a Jedi or real Force user. Yes, they know how to use a saber, yes they know how to use the Force, but anyone who fights for real knows that 'knowing how to fight' vs 'being able to fight,' are two different things. Plagueis/Sidious/Maul never actually fought a Jedi until Phantom that we know of; otherwise the Jedi would have known they were back or active. The Jedi might not have trained as hard because of the lack of Sith presence, but they still trained. And it's more than probable that their training method never got easier. Their systems of combat were designed from fighting the Sith, Mandalorians, and all sorts of enemies. Why would their training programs change? They would have known about Sith tricks and tactics. They practiced against different Jedi and different styles, abilities, and situations. Even a crappy Jedi would have a more training and preparation for a real fight. But in every situation...the Sith are seen as these super talented and easily overtake all but the heroes. And I just don't find that believable.
Yoda defeating Palpatine? Hhhhmmmm, order 66 had already happened. The Jedi order was destroyed beyond repair. Operating on the assumption that Obi-Wan defeated Anakin on Mustafa, Padme would be broken. Okay, we have a power vaccum situation. 1). Sate Pestage, Vice Chancellor, 2). Tarkin, 3). Darth Maul. To quote Yoda "hhhuuuummm, hard to see, the future is. Always things in motion!"
The best part of Star Wars is that for 800 years everyone thought that yoda was the most powerful being in the galaxy , then along comes Lord Sidious and he hands yoda his little green ass .
What if anakin was piloting before attack of the clones and sensed ventress fall to the darkside as her master died and took his ship to the planet to investigate. Perhaps starting a romance as they are very similar in their stories.
Also what if ahsoka taught ben skywalker as she saw him as history repeating itself.
What if anakin was a jedi watchmen or wayfinder.
What if anakin went with kenobi to face maul and savage instead of adi gallia.
What if anakin fell in love with luminara or your own version of aayla secura romance.
What if oppo rancis trained anakin.
What if anakin met and fell in love with ventress just before the clone wars just after her masters death.
What if anakin became a jedi sentinel like a watchmen or one of those who find younglings.
What if evan piel became a mentor or second master to anakin.
Or anakin became a healer either before or after his mother death could be related to his friendship with offee or alternatively what if he was trained by tra sa who taught windu and actually did not forbid attachment as shown by her relationship with tholme , they could become like a pseudo parents to anakin and train him away from the temple in azati martial arts and from trasa the living force as she is a plant lady so imagine anakin controlling plant life.
Well if Yoda did actually manage to finish off Sidious at the senate chambers then I would finally have some respect for the grandmaster & officially allow all the failures he has added up during the clone wars to be pardoned because at the end of it all he finally toke action when it was needed the most & handled business👏🏾.
I would become a Yoda fan overnight 😂✅.
The imperial Navy is an entirely different beast than the Republic Navy ever was. The Republic Navy relied on heavy starfighters and light star destroyers, the imperial Navy is the opposite massive insanely powerful battleships with numerous but weaker tie fighters. The rebels only survived for 20 years, because they were small and insignificant and hid in the dark, if they try to actually show down against the empire, they would get stomped into oblivion.

i like the story, but i honestly can't understand how in the majority of these videos, they forgive Anakin murdering children thaaat easy, but i mean.....ok hahahaha
