  • This video covers Pidgeot ex control strategy coupled with Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex to form "Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex control". The video may be shorter than one might expect because it does not consider specific archetypal match-ups. The reason why is that the deck has so many tools, it can respond to virtually everything. Thus, an explanation of its overarching strategies is enough for the viewer to understand how to apply it to any matchup because of its flexibility.
We do this so as not to overwhelm the viewer, thus permitting the viewer an essential understanding of the deck's mechanics so that the deck's pilot has the freedom to improvise 😎.

I love that "analysis paralysis." I've noticed a lot of players even some in the UA-cam space that can only play off the cards in front of them and are likely better served by a bibarel or similar engine.

Thanks so much! And it’s true! The playstyle really isn’t for some players, even if the deck has the numbers saying it’s a better build.

I understand this is more your style and this certainly has value, but I think for the purposes of didactics a matchup based approach is better appreciated when talking about control gameplay in practice.

I already have a video ready for post tomorrow. Perhaps I could list 2-3 matchups for each deck.

Good video. Isn't Survival Brace just better for Penny loops in general?

Definitely for lower HP Pokémon. With BMU, you could withstand an attack from something like Charizard with hero’s cape. Depends on what you’re going for!

Survival brace discards itself if it does anything, so hero's cape is better for penny loops if they're doing hp-hp+90 damage

@@trevorpassmore5811 Oh you're right. I completely forgot about Brace discarding itself

Wow, thank you! I might go to the aggression extreme then, havent taken any prizes in a while. Yea I was definitely just retreat locking and winning by stall. Although, one question remains: what do I do against decks that can easily OHKO my BUex? For example, Chien Pao, Goldengo, Raging Bolt...

You’re welcome! You might consider Legacy Energy or Survival Brace. Teching Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon ex or Mimikyu will also help.

Chien-pao you definitely can retreat lock. You kinda have to see Control as having different win conditions and choosing which you're using against which matchup.
