Nice idea, it would be nice if cable manufacturers made the drums bigger, instead of them being just the right size to hold a certain amount of cable, but obviously using such an expensive and rare material as cardboard what else can we expect.
@@MatSmithLondon prysmian are terrible for it, but it was the same when they were pirelli I don't remember BICC being that tight with cardboard but they may have been and I have forgotten
It does look good for certain things. I'd like to see how well 5 drums of 8core alarm cable stack up and stay up on that thing. Think I'll stick to the traditional when pulling in bulk on site.
I have the 300 as it supports decent size drum of ev ultra etc, I did make something like it as an apprentice over a decade ago as it made more sense to stack drums than have them side by side blocking walk ways etc. So when this popped up it was a no brainer, great for running through floors or pulling in for down lights, can't fault it.
I use the yellow thing. I would *LOVE* to upgrade to that device (for the very reason you demonstrated) but cannot possibly justify the cost. Only doing a self build (hugely over the top spec of cabling (12 zones of audio, 40 light circuits centrally wired, new 13A rings from scratch etc plus about 100 CAT6 runs) BUT I think this thing is priced for those people doing it day-in-day-out. Also sometimes need to run 3 or 4 at a time - nope - not spending £500 on equipment just to help me run cables!
You are great salesmen. I'm a mechanical engineer, I don't mess with electronics all that often and when I do it's small stuff. And yet I want one of these now
This is what I want to know. If it truly was better at this than my current rack-a-teirs I may consider it, as my work is mostly commercial and this would be easier carried and no bars sticking out for people to get snagged on
If you put that X-board directly under you it won't work. I usually have it like 3-5 meters away and I can easily pull the cables above the ceilings up to 4,5 metres high.
I still think it's amazing how much weight bearings can take, due to their size. I recon there using cheap and cheerful roller skate bearings. Quick question. Can you take it apart and change the bearing if they get damaged? Do you recon it'd be possible to take one (or both) apart, just to see what they use bearing wise? I'm pretty sure you could sacrifice one with all the view you get 😉
Only problem I see is when you're pulling multiple cables in at different length no matter what all drums spin at the same time which is a bit of a deal breaker for me to be honest.
Looks good and solves the issue of the cable snagging. My only concern is £100 for the small one, will it last years like my traditional cable reel. If it does id defo buy one but usually if its too good to be true it usually is.
looks great, it should be great for what it costs. would be nice if the manufacturers did a special every now and again that would make them more affordable / less of a risk to take a punt on. Summat else to try out / haggle with manufacturers to bring the price down a bit. . . is the Super Rod SRFD Flexi Drill Kit that's on amazon just now. I'd want to know that was worth the money before throwing anything more than 50 quid at it.
Well that makes the old argument of taking it off the bottom, or taking it off the top of the drum redundant. You take it off the side. Inside is also possible. Have you turned a wooden drum into a seat? thats cool.
I notice you didn't demo having 2 drums of 2.5 twin and a drum of 1mm twin on the smaller one at the same time. Would that skinny stick be able to support a stack of drums??
@@GrahamDIY yes I thought so £100 for a lump plastic 😂 good bit of kit though, But then you could probably make one your self with an old garden hose real.
Looks good, got a few questions though, how does it cope pulling different diameter drums at the same time or a new drum and a half used drum? Also pulling cables up into ceilings
So it's some plastic and a bearing. How does that equal over £200 worth? It may be good but it's overpriced and not likely to sell well, electricians like their gadgets but are canny with their money. Rip off!
Why is it called a "rumpo stick"? I would’ve called it a "Drum Stick" personally, as that'd make a lot more sense. Quick question. Has it got the same thread as the cane's? As that'd make things a lot easier and one less thing to stick in the van
having pulled 10s of thousands of meters of cable of my yellow dispenser without a problem, your pulling it from the top of the coil no one with any experience with this type of holder would do this, top tip put a coil of 6mm T&E on it, that's if you can afford it
Why not just load the cable jack properly. Cable feeding off the bottom. Sorry to say guys, although videos well made and presented ,they aren't that good.

haha quite. Think I might be 3D printing some kind of circular bracket thing to go around my cable reels to help keep the cable on. So annoying.

Had one a while. Got the kit off eBay and it’s a game changer. 👍
Absolutely beautiful

You can use it as a table centre lazy Susan - ideal for take aways.
@@efixx you prove a good point, only adding merit to the salesman statement
Looks nice.
But searce for Rollprofi.
You have one for drums and one for kable bounds.
How well does it work if being pulled from above? Say pulling in cables above suspended ceilings with the drum on the floor?

Using Easy roller is better then.

This is simply genius
Great video chaps. Very good bit of kit I'll be looking at a set of these ASAP as I'm fed up with my cable Jack's 🤣🤦

Looks a brilliant product , hoping City’s have them in stock . My old Rack A Tiers can be Rack A Tired
Another great clip 👌

Great 5am Sleepytime material

Yes it’s the same thread - runpo - comes from runpotec the Austrian company who manufacturers the kit.
@@efixx ow ok. So it's definitely not a UK company & manufacturer then. Is the stick made out of fiberglass or is it made out of something different?

What about when I need to roll 5 drums of singles at the same time?
Use a different reel system
Can you pull multiple on the smaller realer?
Yes with the rods like the big one 👍🏻
Is GSH and eFix getting fed up with me moaning about some of the products you show? I don’t seem to be getting any response anymore ?
00:02 that wouldn't happen If you have the cable feed from the bottom.
What about multiple drums ????
We showed that…
multiple singles or twin and earth ?
