- It’s certainly easier to make assumptions about people than it is to spend time getting to know someone. We wanted to put assumptions to the test to see what we're missing out on because we're so busy assuming we already "know" a person. Join us as we discover why you should never judge a book by it’s cover in our series, Reverse Assumptions.
We are all conditioned with certain biases. In this experiment, we challenged these biases by asking people to make assumptions about their partner's appearance without ever actually seeing their partner. When they flipped around to finally face each other, they were shocked by how wrong they were.

You're right. It's true in most cases. I'm a Black American and noticed this as well. (By the way, Whites get a little uncomfortable when I refer to them as White Americans. The whole concept of race is odd to me. So, I enjoy toying with people. It gets really confusing when a White person is born in South Africa and moves to America, i.e., Chelize Theron. Applying the logic of the system, she is African-American and an African-American born and raised in Europe is European and all Blacks aren't African-American as they're often referenced. Plus, I'm not black, I'm a beautiful brown. Why not Brown American? See, super weird...lol)
To address your comment, I think Blacks fixate on and are hyper-sensitive to skin color because the color of their skin negatively impacts how they are treated in life - at home and in public. Whites don't have that fixation because their skin color doesn't usually affect them negatively in formal education, loan approvals, employment and housing. The little girl has been conditioned to believe that a lighter skinned black person has more favorable qualities than darker black people. Since she liked the other girl, she assumed she was mixed or light-skinned. I think she felt awkward after learning the other girl was not as she imagined. Hence, the awkward laugh at the 4:31 mark.
Just for fun: Scroll through the comments. When someone compliments the shorter of the two AA girls, thousands of people like the comment. When someone compliments the taller of the two AA girls, few people like the comment although the girls are equally beautiful. See, Blacks have a deeply ingrained issue with darker skin. Perhaps it would lessen if Whites would divvy up some of that white privilege and stop mistreating Blacks based on skin color.

All the children are different and special and one thing that is common in these children is that they are just so understanding and they understand the world better than their age group normally does...They could even act as role models for adults, Everybody is a teacher in our life and these kids have proved it..

All these grown ups here so impressed with these kids but it proves that, yes, you do underestimate us as these are just normal children! Can adults finally stop judging kids and thinking that none of us are mature. Sure, we have our moments but mostly we are mostly similar to groun ups. These kids nailed it.

I think you should always look on the futur until you are like 80 yo, and i assume at that age its hard to project ourself in a future since you have already live several years and you are near to death ( i know its sad to say 😟 ) but i mean, health issues come, you have less energy than before... aging is hard...but you still can dream sure !
