Before seeing this video, I implemented the same cam and dowel feature at the furniture company I work in. Glad to know there are also others who do this.
Currently my set up is the exact same as shown in the video (each hole has to be positioned independently). I tried to take it a step further by adding relations between the two holes so that they are always centrally aligned. The relations I added depends on the orientation of the part, so it didn't always work.
I tried using equations instead to align the cam and dowel features, so then the hole distances from the panel edge will always be the same distance. Problem is the design library feature only carries over the equations and not the Global Variables... such a shame as it would've saved more time.
Hello, maybe you know how to make smart connect with two holes in different parts? For
Example Rafix system.
thank you for your smart work .
Great video!
Thanks!!!
What if you want this feature for all corners?
you make it seem so easy lol
I have tried to do the exact same thing and some more intricate ones, but keep getting the same error... When I use the library feature on a vertical side of my part it works fine but when using it on a horizontal side it always fail, even tried doing it exactly as the one in the last part of the video (one with horizontal 6mm hole works but as soon as I try the one with vertical 6mm hole it fails). Any ideas?
ace video , thanx :))
