I could tell Oliver wasn't feeling as good as he normally does, but by the 3rd crab pot, he forgot all about that! That was fun! Your favorite shelling Saltaholic has really gotten into crabbing!😃
👍Glad you're enjoying our crabbing videos. You might even have to give crabbing a try. It's fun to use drop nets off of docks and kids love it.. Keeps em busy. I was kind of bummed but I got excited when I saw a decent amount of crabs in our traps. Thank you for taking the time to comment and watching! Happy shelling! God bless!
I agree with Stephanie. That lump meat attached to the swimmer fin is the BEST part of a blue crab. And we ALWAYS clean before cooking...no mustard for us.
Thank you for making these videos they bring back good memories of times I spent with my mom wish she was here but your videos bring a smile to my face
For those colors are beautiful every time I see a large male blue crab number 1 Jimmy my favorite to eat you guys are making some awesome crabbing videos
That's awesome brother Oliver you are setting goals for other people who are willing to go out and catch crab you are looking at conservation first thank you for doing the right thing out there on that water brother it's just second nature to you guys
Brother I'm just thankful to be able to crab. I never would have thought thousands of people would enjoy our videos but they do. God is good and I pray that he'll keep blessing us.
I am so glad you got into the crab this time. The small ones you toss back today will find their way on to your plate tomorrow. This was good and I like the comedy relief at the end.. "Grab the crab bare handed, No, Work smarter, Not harder... 😆... Awesome..
Good Job guys! From a 1/3 of a crab each to 3 whole crabs per person, God is good. Thanks for bringing us along. Looking forward to the next video. God Bless.
😆 Thank you! Only three crabs each but we're eating good in our neighborhood. 9 keepers out of around 40 crabs. Crabbing is looking tough this year. I wish the commercial crabbers the best of luck. Have you had any luck in your area? Stay safe and God bless!
@@SaltyReflections Naw we went the other day and struck out. A few of my friends have gone over the last few weeks but they only caught a few each time they went. Crabs are pretty expensive here at the seafood market, but usually there not. So the commercial guys must be not doing so well either.
I am one of the land locked folks who watch your videos. I absolutely love crabbing. I have been twice. I hope to go again soon. I was lucky enough to take my grandchildren and introduce them to it a few years ago. I would love to move to the SC area and have the SEA/OCEAN LIFE. Your shelling videos, trawling, crabbing, fishing, even the goats are all my favorite. I can't thank you enough for sharing with us.
Awe, Salty Reflections that your grands will never forget!! 🦀👨👩👧👦 My grandparents have brought me & taught me to enjoy the sea since before I can remember!! 🙏🙌 We are SO BLESSED to continue the tradition with our own!! Thank you for your kind words! 🥰 We are thankful & encouraged by our sweet & kind viewers such as yourself❣ 💙🌊🐚🎣🦀🦐👣😎
Glad they made it and glad you like them! We have send them to people all over the US and even sent one to Australia. We are excited about others having them!
Enjoy your videos! We always clean crabs before cooking down here in the Panhandle of Florida. We steam them with Old Bay. Back flipper chunk of body meat is the best IMO.
@@SaltyReflections Haven't done much yet. I live where the river dumps into the Bay and we don't get crabs/pinfish/menhaden up that far in the bay until no sooner than the 4th of July but usually in August. We'll be gettin' after the crabs pretty soon if it ever stops raining here. It has rained every day for the past 3 weeks which puts more fresh water in the upper end of the bay slowing the crab migration to my dock.
Great crabbing trip! & enjoyed eating good in the neighborhood with you & Zac! 🦀🦀🦀 By December, we're going to be loaded with crab hopefully as some of these small ones grow!
😆!! Tell em to come on, we can set our traps side by side and still enjoy ourselves. Heck, we can throw them in the same pot, season em, cook em and fight over the big ones. There's plenty of crabs here in SC for everyone that wants to put the time into catching them. Thanks for your comment and watching!
Thanks for the comment and watching brother! We have cooked crabs both ways but we like to clean our crabs before we steam them. I can understand why you'd cook them whole for a crowed. Some people love the mustard.
Can’t wait to see how this trip goes, THUMBS UP and a SHARE for now. Watch after work is finished, one of my favorite things to do is watch SALTY REFLECTIONS VIDEOS. Good fishing and gods speed to ya all. 👍🇺🇸🦀🦀
Yessir! Cleaned and steamed for us. Looks like we're gonna be seeing a lot of nice crabs this year. Thanks you for taking the time to comment and watching!
We boil ours in Mississippi and Louisiana boils them to if you ever have fried crab claws them things are addictive! The fried crab claws are on the appetizer menu at seafood restaurant
The small ones is a good indication that the area is breeding plenty of crab and soon will be flourishing a plenty and that’s something to look forward to.
That's right, we know where the crabs are and now we wait for them to grow. This should be a pretty good year. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watching!
Thank you! We'll try to come up with some catch, clean, and cook for you all. Stay safe! Appreciate you taking the time to comment and thanks for watching!
My favorite part of the crab is the part that goes in my belly!!😂 Pops always cleaned them but I just normally drop em in the pot. Hope yall are doing ok. Hope to get down there in September. Thanks for another great vid!! Man watching this gets my adrenaline flowing!
Thanks for the comment and watching buddy! Glad you enjoyed the video. By the time September gets here we should be seeing lots of them big Jimmys. Hope to see you then. Stay safe!
Yes, we were glad we have some pots with a good quantity of crabs but there wasn't a lot of keepers. 🤔 Crabbing ain't looking very good this year. We hardly ever see gators in this area. I can count the ones we've seen on one hand.
I'm civilized so of course I clean my crab. Just kidding Maryland. I prefer cleaning when eating them and cooking whole when picking meat to use for things like crab cakes, dip or stuffed flounder. I believe you get a firmer meat cooking whole just don't like the mustard. Do you guys ever just sit on the dock and use traps or handlines? Looks like a decent place to do that. Would like to see a video of that. Maybe with the grandkids. The little ones love it.
Back a couple of years ago I made a video cleaning and cooking our crabs. That's when I found out people love the mustard. No mustard for this fella. 😆 Yes, we do crab off the docks in our area with the 2 ring crab traps. We actually do pretty good at times. We'll have to try to make a video of it. The kids love it but I don't think they love it as much as me.😄
Just found you! Love the videos! I’m here in Beaufort. I normally just buy my blue crab from a friend’s (LONG TIME shrimper here) connect but my mom wants to get a couple and drop em from the boat to add to what we do on the water! So I gotta couple questions….1. How much line do you suggest for each pot to have connected to it? And 2. I’m putting in at the sands…I know you’re not going to give me your honey holes but where do you suggest I drop em?
Glad you found our channel! The amount of line you'll need depends on the depth of the area you choose to crab. Add at least 10' of rope to the depth of the area you choose to set your pots. I'd recommend setting them in water 10" deep on high tide. If the tide falls 8' your pots will still be in 2' of water. I'd also look at setting my pots in front of the mouth of the small tidal creeks. Hope this info helps. Happy crabbing!
