How to Make Gochujang Wings | Korean Fried Chicken Wings

    Gochujang Wings
    Ingredients:
    Chicken Wings
    Garlic
    Ginger
    Brown Sugar
    Flour
    Cornstarch
    Buttermilk
    Honey
    Gochujang Paste
    Gochujang Marinade
    Rice Vinegar
    Soy Sauce
    Salt
    Black Pepper
    Garlic Powder
    Onion Powder
    Smoked Paprika
    Directions:
    Chicken
    1. Add 1 cup of buttermilk and 1/4 cup gochujang marinade to the chicken.
    2. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
    3. Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour. (Best results: marinate overnight)
    4. For the dry batter, combine 1 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of cornstarch.
    5. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
    6. Coat the chicken in the dry batter and place on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
    7. To fry the chicken use the double fry method: fry the chicken for 8 minutes, allow to cool for 1 minute and fry for another 2 minutes.
    Gochujang Sauce
    8. Grate a teaspoon of ginger.
    9. Mince 4 cloves of garlic.
    10. Add a tablespoon of olive oil to a saucepan.
    11. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant.
    12. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons of water, 1/4 cup of honey, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of gochujang paste.
    13. Toss wings in gochujang sauce.
    14. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.
    15. Enjoy.
