I love the fact that you discover them after they had broke up, yet you are sharing excitement with people like myself, I found them in 04(I was 14) with Im Not Okay, been my favorite band ever since, so it’s awesome to me 2 different worlds yet we both can get hype about this
Hell yeah! Same age and same favorite band!
@@ChristopherHProductions sweeet man, yeah I still can’t believe this is a reality
31 y.o. here and I'm in with the hype
I found them around the same time too. My biggest regret was not getting to see them live before their break up. This time I'm definitely gonna secure a ticket if they ever tour again.
@@mahogara I’m lucky, I saw them on The Black Parade tour, Project Revolution 2007, and their tour with Blink 182 in 2011…I am beyond excited about them having new music out
The fact that they dropped this with no announcement right before Kendrick’s new album it’s nuts
And waterparks is dropping tonight
Who the fuck cares about Kendrick. There's new MCR
@@AstroZombie29 damn bro people have music taste
@@AstroZombie29 kendrick is awesome man. (Not really digging his new song, but I'm still excited for the album)
I think the reason they are dropping it now is because their world tour starts next week in the UK. The dates they announced back in 2020 but have been delayed for 2 years
honestly, this was giving me the vibes of a mix between Bullets and Parade. I feel like they went back more to their roots/first album in this one
YES!
yesss i feel the same. the song is structured like bullets but is grandiose and clean like tbp.
I gotta admit, this song is better than almost anything on Danger Days.
@@giorgoss4410 not almost. it is.

I love your INSTANTANEOUS reactions Brad, they fill the gap that existed when I realized I have no music friends, or many actual friends
❤️❤️❤️
Yeah I have friends but....lets just say we don't usually share the same music taste
brad taste audience is better than friends. except jeremy (jk ily jeremy)
Same!
Wow this just absolutely relatable yea I got friends but barely any of them care as much any music as me
I can’t believe they just randomly dropped it like this. This and Kendrick Tonight makes this the best day of the year so far in terms of music drops for me.
Don't forget about The Chainsmokers!
@@jeremyusreevu237 i’m gonna forget again now
and the smile!!!
MCR, Kendrick Lamar, Black Midi & The Smile all dropping heat in the same week is absolutely crazy!
@@furiousstyles2530 ikr fucking great week
"He was there, the day the towers fell"... this whole song is about 9/11 and the impact it had on the band, actually the reason they became a band
And the decay in the title is referring to how they decayed the morals of our good Christian boys and girls
The song is reportedly about the band's journey, getting old, and the passage of time. 9/11 was a major part of that journey, but it wasn’t everything they ever were, and the major focus seems to be on their increasing age and the passing of time, hence why just about every other verse and the chorus puts an emphasis on it.
@@Kumahachi8 thanks for the info :)
@@pezzy5014 looks like it's going to tie into a larger concept again too! lots of talk about rats, plagues, swarms, decay and megacorporations- likely it'll all tie into a new project :)
this legit feels like i'm in 2002, discovering MCR in their early stages. i was literally born that year, but it really feels like i am experiencing it when i hear this song.
hey
i am terrified for fantanos reaction bc i know he’s gonna hate this mix
edit: i was correct
i really like the mix but I just think the vocals could be a tooouuchh louder
it's kinda lame that people dismiss it tbh this kind of mix is fairly common in metal and it's for a reason, it's to add atmosphere and a sense of the protagonist of the song being lost, drowned out, defeated etc.
honestly? your opinion is what matters, not fantano's.
@@doom3798 Doesnt matter if its common if it sounds awful lol
@@doofus_dummy to you! i think it sounds brilliant.
I'm ngl this is definitely more challenging than a lot of older my chemical romance music at least for me but I do genuinely like it and beyond that it feels like it represents a new direction, like they could have just released a song that sounds like a my chemical romance song. but this almost feels like a statement that they're not the same band they were a decade ago and that's kind of cool. although I might be reading too much into this
yeah i agree, at first i was confused with this new sound and the strange audio mixing (like... purposeful crunch?? lol), but Brand New is one of my favorite bands and i felt the same when Daisy came out from them. at first i didn't like it, it was too strange and otherworldly... but then i grew up a bit with it and now i consider it genius. very excited to see more from MCR if they go in this strange new direction.
it’s interesting that you say that because my feelings upon first listening to this were that they still sound like the same mcr i know and love, albeit a bit more mature and evolved. it really feels like hearing from an old friend and i’m so excited to see where they go from here.
yall clearly havent listened to bullets and it shows
@@TheImagination96 they definitely drew hints from gerard and franks solo stuff as well as their stuff from bullets and ofc old classic pop punk bands which they’ve always drawn from so it’s rly not different at all, just more renewed and refined
@@andimoz that’s exactly what i was thinking!! it sounds more like bullets than anything else they’ve ever put out and that being my favorite album of theirs, it makes me extremely fucking happy

I don't forget when Brad said that he will do a black parade re-reaction if mcr ever drop something new
I think we are about to get a great story, reminds me of the way in Sleep the end where Gerard is singing “Just sleep” and in the background screaming “WAKE UP”. This song seems like person experience Inc. this story feels like laying in the “foundation of decay “ but the last line is “GET. UP. COWARD!” So something is telling the person not to give up basically?… just my over analyzing and obsessing.
Yeah, the song really reminds me of sleep in some parts but it generally just sounds like a very mature and carefully crafted song and i really do love the direction in which it's going!!
No you're totally right
it feels like a grungier sleep. fucking stellar
The way I’m able to appreciate all of My Chemical Romance's music to it’s fullest extent is by not limiting them to their older music. Gerard said himself that he feels like it’s an artist duty to evolve their music and not make the same things over and over again. So by fully being able to understand that, you can fully appreciate their music relative to My Chemical Romance and not relative to past works.
Its a little difficult to accept that no mcr song will ever scratch the same itch that the entire black parade album did. It was like bohemian rhapsody but emo and an hour long.
I don’t wanna get my hopes up about a new album, but I absolutely do.
I honestly think the Swarm merch is pretty indicative that smth new is coming
@@melynn_0355 same!! they've been keeping up with the theme of swarming, decay, rats, etc. i feel like it can't just be a tour thing, especially since frank also got a swarm tattoo

SAME HERE LMAO
This is so nostalgic. I remember watching your Black Parade reaction back a few summers ago while deep in the mcr fandom. I’m not nearly as into it as I was but this is very surreal
can't believe i'm watching a new brad reaction to my chemical romance, i am so happy.
It sounds like how he was recording his vocals on the solo project. But it has that Italiano classical sad romantic kinda sound. Diggable
I will be using the word "Diggable" from now on 😩
holy shit you speedran this reaction.
It's so exciting to hear new material from them. it's so crazy
It's genuinely so fucking incredible.
It's like Three cheers and black parade make a kid together and gave us The Foundation Of Decay
I was gonna say Bullets and Parade, but yeah, definitely agree
The beginning is Danger Days kinda with the synths
As someone who learned how to play the entire Three Cheers album on bass, I have to say that this is much more of a bullets + black parade hybrid. Three Cheers was all about speed, with it having some ludicrously fast picking on tracks like Hang ‘Em High, and I Never Told You. Foundations plays much more like a black parade track, with it being slower than Three Cheers but extremely heavy to make up for the loss in speed.
@Simone Valentino yeaa
MCR IS BACK LET'S GOOOOOOOO
brad reacting to mcr again is W
the song is on how he started the idea of the band after the events of 9/11
i was searching for this comment. "He was there, the day the towers fell" gave me goosebumps
I think it’s more about the entire journey of the band and the members individually
what i appreciate about this song too is that it doesn't drag at all, i've been listening to it throughout the day and it still feels like 3 minutes instead of 6
Gotta be honest when the song came out the first thing I worried about was that you wouldn't like it considering you weren't a fan of anything MCR outside of The Black Parade and Three Cheers. So I'm glad you actually really did.
even I got surprised when he liked three cheers, since it's like peak hot topic music.
I too love game over by falling in reverse. I love how much it says about how we live our day to day lifes.
ronnie radke truly paints a stunning picture of the society we live in (real)
Its lame lol
@@agosesco7134 I was being sarcastic
I'm really hoping they do well. Seems like every once legendary band is incapable of making quality music anymore, I always hope to be proven wrong though
This ^^^ I really do hope the same
My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive both proved that wrong :)
This is exactly why I was so surprised when The New Abnormal turned out to be great
@@jonashorn8354 @Labedincoln both of you guys are right, really enjoyed both of the albums and instances like these really give me hope for older bands that haven’t made music in a while
Psychedelic Furs did it a couple of years ago. Their first album in 29 years and it’s one of their best.
With Kendrick’s new album coming out, a new MCR single, and a recent teaser from Death Grips, this week has gotten pretty crazy. Can’t wait to see some more surprises down the road!
Death Grips dropped a teaser? Where can I see that?
While I love Gerard. That "compressed" description is honestly how I'd describe a lot of his solo music. The lyrics get drowned a lot and it had me wondering if they're working in a cheap recording closet.
But still great music
So this week:
-My Chemical Romance New Song
-Kendrick HPT5 + Album
-The Smile Album
-Ethel Cain Album
-Mid-Air Thief Album
-Death Grips Back on Twitter (probably new album coming)
-Joey Badass Album announced
-Florence + The Machine Album
-black midi New Song + Album announced
2022 kind of already insane honestly, but this week takes the cake for me
Death Grips are what
Kendrick, MCR, black midi, Florence, Death Grips.. holy fuck this week has me bouncing off the walls.
the smile woooo
Don’t forget Black Keys!
I didn't know this released. Then I saw them live at UBS arena. This was the opener. Holy shit.
I can’t believe this is real life. mcr has helped me find my passion for music, they helped me get through a rough patch in my life in early 2020. they’re my favorite artist of all time, and I never expected something new from them. I’m just so unbelievably happy I don’t have the words. if we get an album I might explode from happiness
It’s moody like the ghost of you and climactic like sleep, I love it
Just the man I was hoping would react
I love how the music is grand yet the production is claustrophobic like being stuck in a grand rotten coffin. I also like how the vocals are writhing and unclear kinda like decay itself. Definitely a moment where style and substance come together in an art piece. I also love hints of black metal throughout this piece. Good song, definitely come back multiple times.
The moment I saw this song in my notification I was really tired, but I was internally going “WHAT”.
The Black Parade is my favourite album of all time so I was smiling like an idiot throughout the whole song, I never thought I’d ever hear new music from MCR since I became a fan post break up, but I am so happy that I was proven wrong.
There’s so much more that I want to say but this is already becoming a long comment.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT THEYRE BACK
i cant unhear the skyfall part now lmfao, but i'm still SO FCKING HYPED
I feel like my life and musical journey have now come full circle having found you through TOP and MCR content
MCR: drop new song
Brad: instantly reviewing it after all these years
I'm in heaven apparently
We've come full circle. My first video of yours was your reactions to The Black Parade and now here you are reacting to brand new MCR. Let's fucking gooooo
I'm seeing them on tour in like 2 weeks, seems a perfect time to release music!
I can't even describe the feelings I felt when I first heard this. This band meant so much to me when I was younger, and got me through so much bullshit. To hear them back in their true form almost make me want to cry.
I got so shocked when i saw this, i went to yt when i woke up and i see a new mcr song from like 12 hours ago, i freak out and i immediately click it, it was so amazing seriously
It almost kinda sounds like they’re going in a bit of a Shoegaze-y direction with those walls of noise they throw up every so often. Not like MBV or what have you, I’m talking the newer stuff like Nothing (think ‘The Great Dismal’), ‘Infinite Granite’-era Deafheaven, Cold Gawd, etc. it’s pretty interesting to hear them sounding like that as somebody who was way into ‘Black Parade’ and ‘Three Cheers’ back in my early teens. lol
To me.,,, this was the perfect song to come back with after a decade of a hiatus. You can clearly tell the man In the hill in question is Gerard , as he watched the Towers fell, and this sounds like a continuation of The Black Parade, lyrics wise, which is all in fact, a deciphering of Gerards mental health at the time. This is all about bouncing back and feeling the pain you used to , *feel forgotten pain*, and the mixing is all Bullets Era which is their start days,, I really feel like this song is a gift for their ALREADY FANS Instead of aiming to go mainstream,, but I'll admit it,, even if I wasn't alr an MCR fan I'd still love this track and I would listen to it over and over , although I wouldn't understand it quite as well.
Is true that MCR has great expectations on them, but they're living by the example they set , and this track is LIVING PROOF !!!! Loved your reaction, unfortunately, there's a lot of
"Experts" who don't know anything and got a lot to say out there ,, your knowledge on MCR and on the genre is solid,, I liked this video,,,but lemme tell u,,, coming from the perspective of a fan who's been waiting for YEARS FOR SMTH LIKE THIS,,,,IM FAR FROM DISAPPOINTED ,,IN FACT IM KICKING MY FEET LOL 😍😍😍
Bullets, Revenge and TBP had a baby and this is it. This amazing song 💖
So now that there's new music time to go back to revisit the old albums😭
I am bawling. I seriously cannot comprehend that this is fucking happening right now. THE FUCK!
im a sucker for the lyrics on this song i could write a whole essay on the meanings within it and how insanely amazing, impactful, and full circle it is. i love this song immensely and it only got better for me after the memory of hearing it live
Essay? Give me a essay
@@killme4362 fr ill read it‼️
@@salemmustdie YES
This has me really excited, I never thought they’d make more music. I’ve been a fan of them since high school and my heart leapt when I saw it. It sounds great and has that MCR energy without seeming at all like they’re trying to rehash their former glory. Fingers crossed for more good stuff
How tf did you have time to film and edit this already?
lots of years of learning how to optimize editing and video production
I’m obsessed with this song as a long time my Chem fan and it feels so inspiring to me, someone with depression and adhd.
The sound is amazing and I know other peoples might be surprised by the sound changing up a bit but I’m not at all. My Chem refuses to make the same album twice and is always going to try something new and different with each record they make.
I also think it’s funny that Brad and a few others missed the memo of the reunion when the rest of us have been sitting impatiently with our tickets clutched to our chests as the tour got delayed twice 😅
It’s coming out now because they’re literally about to go on tour. Going to see them in a couple weeks I’m so excited. The new song is BEAUTIFUL ❤️
This is a fucking incredible comeback song. Holy shit.
The only problem I have with this song is the mixing, Gerard's vocals are buried beneath all the guitars and drums. Not sure if it was done on purpose for some sort of theatrical effect. Other than that I loved this song.
Considering it's MCR we're talking about. It's 100% for Theatrics
it was definitely a choice. i personally like it. but then again as a guitarist/drummer/kinda bass and piano player, i’ve always been way more focus on the instrumental and the story the music tells over the vocals and lyrics. with the right sound you can tell a story without any words.
on purpose, just like listening to Human Sadness by The Voidz. also the lyrics matches with the voice being so buried and "feeling like it's in a coffin"
@@keneteco yeah that's the vibes I've been getting from this
It’s dropping now cus their reunion tour is about to start next week so I think they’ve been sitting on music but waiting for their actual comeback to release it after covid put it on hold
Audio quality on the youtube version seemed really off to me. Listened on Apple Music and it seemed much better (still very heavily compressed, but the levels seemed a lot more clear)
felt the same way. apple music has lossless audio now & youtube decidedly does not (unless you pay for yt music lol)
Song was way better than expected. I'm not too hot on the mix though, vocals are kind of buried...I'm very happy it wasn't in that more commercial pop punk style they were messing with on their last album
😀 Brad listening to MCR gives me so much joy.
I saw the notification for this song and flipped out. This seems like a combination of past styles while also moving forward. I can’t wait to see where they take their new sound.
I discovered MCR not too long ago, in early 2021 at the age of 14 and I think it's the only band I've ever properly called myself a fan of. I haven't been in the fandom for that long but I'm so fucking excited
They have 4 really good albums, probably one of the best rock bands of all time given the consistent quality and gigantic impact on young people. Gerard originally set out to show people struggling with depression and mental health issues that they weren’t alone and there are real reasons to live, they achieved that goal so hard it’s amazing. I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard that their music helped keep someone alive, from both real friends and strangers
i've never heard the phrase "new my chemical romance" before because i've only been a fan since 2017 (i'm 15 lol) so this is a powerful moment for me and i love that everyone else is getting hyped
Also idk I’m a big fan of their first album and the Lofi-ish /harsh sound of it, and this reminded me of that but mixed with …. Shoegaze? Unless I have my genres confused idk but I LOVED this song
MCR drops a new song, it gets a smiley ball from Bradley. This is a good day
I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AT SOME POINT I LEGIT CHECK MY MUSIC APP AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH FOR THIS AND ITS FINALLY HAPPENING AAAAAAHHHHHH
Game over by falling in reverse is one of the songs to exist.
literally the second i finished the song i thought to myself “brad has GOT to react to this”
ive been listening to brad for so long at this point i forgot he had these over the top edits before until he brought it up

@@ducadionisio omg my old buddy 😭i hope you're doing well friend!
just today had a conversation in my head that went along the lines of “my chemical romance probably won’t make new music after the reunion. it’s not happening” me now- 😮
everything has come full circle. i started watching you from your blurryface reaction and i *loved* your black parade reaction. it's so cool seeing you mature and maturing with you.
It feels a lot like a video game trailer or like the music video would be of like a king or something midevil. I been listening nonstop since I saw that it was released. Definitely love that they're trying something new, especially since it's got vibes of old more Hardcore vibes like "Bury Me in Black". Or even the original "the world is ugly".
Oh my God. Brad thank you for this video. I had no idea they dropped a new song I'm so 🥲
I was thrilled hearing this out of the blue. The nice kind hello but seeing this building and change. Im looking forward to more. So many balance them to their few hit songs but not all their songs were punchy it profound.
As a '19 MCR fan, I never thought I'd experience the hype of a new MCR song but this absolutely blew me away. It feels new, but also reminds me of MCR's earlier days - that of Three Cheers and Bullets. It has that sort of sound but for their problems today rather than of 18 to 20 years ago. It's old and fresh at the same time, and totally unexpected.
Couldn't agree more with this man! Nice review! It's nice to hear something fresh.
i really like the song & im really happy u got this out so fast LMAO
let the sky falll when it crumblessss
As soon as the song dropped I was reminded of your channel, since I haven't been watching since the Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge review.
And I gotta say some of your observations on the song is how I felt about watching this vid. You still got that humor but now you have this mature confidence as well as a more eloquent way of expressing your thoughts.
You've really come into your own as a music channel and I'm glad to see you still kicking after all this time. Keep it up Brad!
I found out they released a new song from seeing this video and oh my god I just listened to it it's amazing now I'll watch the video.
im feeling alot of sleep and a little bit of how I disappear before the chorus
its reminiscent of tbp yet on the more upbeat parts it also reminds me of hesitant alien
I discovered mcr a couple years after they broke up and I was so sad that I would never be able to hear their new music or see a concert. But man, the fact that this came out AND I’m going to see them in concert in a couple months is mind blowing, I’m actually living out my sixth grade fantasy
As soon as I saw the release I came here to tell you to react and this video was here waiting for me. Thank you for your service 🙏

Solid review and your descriptions are on point.
I loved the little Skyfall cover. Adele would be proud lol
This feels like a fever dream. But as soon as it dropped I had pretty much the exact same reaction as you, especially with that Boogie man analogy. I honestly had to re-listen to it a few times to really let it sink in and yeah... I went into it with trepidation and halfway disbelief that it was actually happening. Now I'm just kind of hyped that we may actually be getting a record. And if this song is any indication of the overall sound scape, I'm now quite excited to listen to it. It sounds like NEW My Chemical Romance.
if you want some good theatercore i cant recommend Will Wood's Normal Album enough. the overture alone slaps
seconding will wood- I like all his albums but the normal album is the most cohesive imo
i have been listening to a new album every day this year and recently listened to everything is a lot and omg, i have fallen head over heels for will wood and his music
we need a normal album reaction from bradley.
i think they released it bc theyre just about to go on their uk tour!!! seeing them on the 30th, i’m almost 24 and been waiting since i was 11 😭💕
