I have no doubt in my mind that John Curry was the best skater of all time. To me, no one comes close to him when it comes to musicality, technical elegance and grace.
I really enjoy and is mesmerized watching John Curry skate. Nowadays I dont watch skating much. Artistry is disappearing. They are more focused on quads.
Wasn't this the costume which caused controversy because of the white bands on it especially during his spins and he could only wear it for exibitions ?
He was robbed of winning the world title this year dont you think floskate? He had strong figures (2nd), the best short program even if corrupt judges placed him 2nd to a nobody Soviet (not even Kovalev or Volkov but the 3rd Soviet) and while his long had 2 major mistakes was still better than boring Volkov and not so much worse than Kovalev that Kovalev should have passed him.

Even after all these years, I never tire of watching John skate
John's skating was just exquisite!
The shapes he produces on the ice are glorious. Everything has a purpose, and his musicality-second to none.
Ballet on ice, beautiful....
Sublime.
