I'm an Epica fan since 2005, so I saw them grow and develop over all these years. This band is só amazing, all their era's are awesome. Simone was amazing back then and she still is. I have a weakness for her voice since the beginning, the tone in her voice is just stunning. It's hard to say which version of Cry for the Moon is my favorite, I think this one and the Omega Alive version.
The blonde soprano singer here is Amanda Somerville, who covered for Simone love when she became ill a few years ago. She also did backing vocals for Kamelot and was part of the supergroup, Exit Eden.
This performance was recorded in 2004 for a Dutch TV show. So that is 19 years ago :) This was literally the first song Epica ever released. Simone was only 19 years old during this recording (born in 1985). And three members have since left and been replaced. The guy on the drums is not Arien :) but Jeroen Simons. On bass is not Rob van der Loo but Yves Huts. And on guitar next to Mark Jansen is not Isaac but Ad Sluijter. The only members still in Epica since this early beginning of the band are Mark, Simone and Coen.
The whole performance is so beautiful and allow you to see young Epica. As mentioned below by @markhoward2811 the blonde lady is Amanda Somerville, the dark hair lady on Amanda’s right is Linda Van Summeren aka Linda Janssen (Coen’s wife). Amanda was also Simone's voice coatch and you can see that in other songs from this show, where Simone glances toward Samanta, maybe to confirm she doing well ;o) Amanda Somerville is an American vocal coach, backing/choir vocals, producer. Known for her work with After Forever (Floor & Mark Jansen’’s first band) Epica (Mark Jansen, Simone Simons) Avantasia, Kamelot, and more. The dark hair lady beside Amanda is Coen EPICA - Run for a Fall (We Will Take You With Us) (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO): ua-cam.com/video/qU1q7uOFXUI/v-deo.html
Hi Kyle. This version is 19 years old, not 17 years old. 🙂 It's from 2004 and Simone was just 19 here. This is my most favourite performance of this song, mostly thanks to Simone's most unique magical head voice in that early era (even though Simone herself doesn't like how she sounded back then). Btw, Epica channel is dropping a new live performance of "Beyond the Matrix" tomorrow. 😉
@@cancelled_user I already managed to watch the version filmed from the audience and I can already say in advance that it will be a great performance (even though Simone sang with the choir at the beginning of the song) ☺️ but she took part in Isaac's solo 😁
This entire recording 1hr 54mins in on here "EPICA - We Will Take You With Us: 2 Meter Sessies ((Full DVD in HD and with Timestamps)" if you want to see what else they did.
Ad is a great guitar player, I know he did a lot of session work after EPICA with a lot of top bands but from what I can find out didn't release anything new himself, which is a shame. Check out Ad recording a solo for the band Eve's Fall in his home studio, it's pretty cool 🙃 Ad Sluijter (ex-Epica) recording the solo to "Long Forgotten"
@@enterthecronic I don't understand how it's someone's most favourite song and that person listen to it in low quality? This video is not only low quality video, but also mono sound! Love way Simone sings, but can't listen to Epica because of Mark Jansen's vocals. Not my kind of vocals. But Epica is a cool band, especially music, Simone's vocals and choir.
I thought like that too when first listened to them. I am not against growls (I am a metalcore fan btw), but especially Mark’s sounded kinda strange. But eventually they have grown in me and now I am truly an epica fan. Try to give them one more chance)

And there is a documentary of this show somewhere in U tube
This song is groovy as fck.
Nice to see Amanda Somerville (the blond woman) and Coen's wife Linda singing together 🙃
Y’all need an EPICA poster in the room !!!!

Looking at the thumbnail I see that you reacted to the low quality version, on the Epica channel you can find all this DVD in high quality.

@@luBazan1206 Hey Lu, thanks for the info 🙂
Coen was conducting the piece not just waving his arms around😉
Fun fact: this is one of the Epica´s most popular songs, but this is the least favorite song by Simone (said by herself).

Mark make Epica song like wtf?
There are several songs without Mark's vocals though
