I don’t think this is yet very functional in that game. A 250km range is just enough to do short inter-city trips. As the game is focused on long-haul, this doesn’t really fit. Scania releases all-electric only for their national/distribution trucks for this reason. For S- and R- trucks that do international transport there is no alternative to diesel yet, only some limited amount of hybridization could be applied at the cost of weight (probably thereby reducing cargo capacity).

And then charge overnight, so in 6-8 hours at most. The biggest problem most likely. Can't have an electric truck that can drive 300km one day and then needs a week on the charger before it can do it again.
CaptainDuckman The charging is no problem. There are chargers that go to 200 kW and over. That means that in 8 hours you can charge a 1600 kWh battery pack. There are also busses that use dual chargers, so they basically charge half the battery from one chargers, and the other half with a second charger. @@xavierdarche4822 true, but we far away from that to use that everywhere. basically drivers will need to take the 9hour rest time to get the truck charged, and there arent even enough parking spots for truck on european highways... for now this only works with limited daily transport companies, because most of them do 300+ a day. only this could work in the future with a huge investment when they build electric truck charging stations all over europe... so we really far away from that
@@storm4710 Also the charging rates they show in this video imply it might not be possible to charge at say a 250 or 300kw charger, the vehicle needs to support that with enough cooling and without degrading the cells too heavily. If the charge port is at the back of the truck, and charge station adjacent to loading bays. The trucks can charge whilst loading and unloading at larger facilities although I know this won’t be an option everywhere but could drastically increase the possible range for a vehicles working day.
upto 250 kms in a single charge, that's best case in reality expect 200kms and on a very cold day that will fall to 150kms. and remember that's with no cab electrics switched on i.e heater, heated mirrors, radio etc etc
