I think the most important thing is choose one protocol and stick to it so you can track your FTP trend. Which testing protocol have you decicded to keep using since then?
That's a good point! As long as you've got a reliable power meter, you can be sure to have tested your fitness status correctly. I have mostly been using the 20-min test. What about you?
@@torontocycling I’ve been using both the ramp and 20-minute tests, but I’ve found that the ramp test’s 75% calculation consistently overestimates my FTP. It’s closer to 70% for me. So I’ve recently decided to just stick with the 20-minute test.
Hiya! It was slightly higher last time. In fairness I have done quite a few tests over the years, and had a good idea what power to put out to pace. But I still find it gives better results that 20 min. And for beginners, aq ramp test IMHO. I hope you are well!@@torontocycling
