As an Arc-V fan, I super appreciate this deck and while i find the manga card counterparts to be interesting… thats about it, not gonna talk about the ending either.
Say what you will about this, love or hate this combo, for anime fans this combination of 2 archetypes owned by the main male lead and main female lead and having synergy is a first. Yugi and Tea didn't have much synergy outside of her signature card being DMG. Jaden and Alexis were polar opposites and even tag teaming their decks are different. Yusei and Aki had cards that mixed well, but never had any sort of archetype cards like Yusei's junk mixing with her Rose cards at most it was some of his tuners working well with plants. Yuma and Kotori is nonexistent. But here, Yuya and Yuzu now have cards that work in synch together
Yeah, and in a way that kinda fits into the messy post-canon they were subjected to and making it all better. Because of who Yuya came from, what role Yuzu's "ancestor" played, and how they were all put together.

Aside from Electrumite being banned over at the TCG, the April 2024 banlist made this version of the deck be DoA. It saw success in the OCG where they still have Borreload Savage Dragon. The difference between having one and two omni-negates is the real dealbreaker that kept this deck from being tiered here.

I’m wondering if we will ever get supreme king in master duel as literally every other archetype from age of overlord and been put in the game over it.
This isn't even a pend soup deck, it's just 2 archetypes mixed togethers alongside some generic support, which makes it much more synergistic than something like Gold Pride Punk for example.
I really think this deck is stronger than anyone gives it credit for. The only real nombo it has is dragon shrine and the melodious cards not meshing, however the power of the melodious starters is worth losing dragon shrine. Outside of that gate magician is an incredible extender and most importantly these cards let you end on endboards that no other deck in the format can rival. The pure melodious deck locks itself too often to enable any really powerful boards. This means that decks like tenpai can clear its board up if played well. It also loses to tons of board breakers. While I think the melodious deck does have a few more pros than supreme king melodious, I think that in a more board breaker heavy format, this version is much stronger than pure.
Unfortunately, nothing tempai has can reasonably clear an established melodious board from kaiju like effect, superpoly, non targeted banish, or non targeted sending. You need to commit to so much outside the strategy that you have nothing to follow-up after clearing even the minimum of the lock.
That's why you run Soul of the Supreme King, 1 main deck brick for a field nuke and a Psudeo Towers. It's my favourite version cause the field nuke is often good enough. Let's also make this the TMT for next week too. XD Edit: meant Soul of the Supreme Celestial King

"Powerful on paper" is a good way to describe Pendulums as a whole. Since getting back into the game, I've realized that as strong as they can be, you are putting all your eggs in the Pendulum basket. If your opponent has a meaningful response, you are just hand-looping yourself.

It's funny, i've looked up a list and none of the cards in the main deck is out in master duel, i guess a year to get a playable pendulum archetype is not that long, since they are more inclined to create new sky striker cards...
Z-ARC should come out after the next pack, if Konami doesn't decide to randomly cuck it for newer stuff again. Outside of some smaller waves of support and random shit, It's like the last AGOV deck that they haven't put into the game yet.
I actually remember him ragging on it a ton as the reason why Pendulum is so garbage. I remember him praising Pendulums that took advantage of the mechanics for their gimmick that didn't end up in soup (Vaylantz and Nemor... comes to mind)
It's his favorite deck to talk about with fans to mess with them. He actually showed interest in this version though and played it at locals. Didn't end super well for him.
I don't think he meant pendslop was one of his favorite decks. He's mentioned liking a lot of pend archetypes before though (mostly the ones that DON'T cleanly slide into the pendslop deck because of conflicting strategies) and I think melodious and abyss actors were 2 he mentioned?
Pendulums need some rework just like how Fusions went from unplayable to being good. Step 1 to making this happen is by not making them work with/play like pendulum magicians
The fix is kind of easy. Master Rule 6. Give pends back their zones, unattach them from links and make them go directly to the extra deck rather than as a replacement effect from the grave so Macro cosmos and D shifter can't just ruin them single handedly.

You're saying make pendulums even stronger than they were in MR3. That isn't the way to fix the problem. More (situational) backrow protection and ways to deal with stuff like Anti-Spell Fragrance. Also just better pendulum cards and archetypes in general. Which will never happen because Konami somehow hates pendulums even more than the playerbase.

How would or could there be a pend card that outs anti-spell or Diabellze without being obvious insane power creep? Pends don't need backrow protection, just more floating effects and bonus's to getting their shit blown up. The game was so staggeringly different in MR3 that it's impossible to compare today's power level with then. Bomb cards back then are just way too weak now. I get the PTSD is still lingering in a bunch of bozo's heads but Pends aren't going to break the game, even if they had their zones and unlimited pend cards and pend support cards. I get that it's hard to grasp that because of decks like Snake eyes currently, but that's how insane the rate of power creep is now.
Kirin is a decent bounce pend. Plushfire is actually garbage because it can only grab bad cards from the deck. Monkeyboard is going to 3 in MD and it's very likely doing nothing. It's hard to imagine what they could release to bust pends open. Maybe Astrograph to 3? Maybe?
