    Jeff, what is it called when you do vertical pirouettes?

      Exactly what you called it 😂 no fancy name for it, it's a pretty basic maneuver

      Sort of like a stall turn, where you pull the heli vertical, then add tail.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  17 днів тому

      So depending on when you do them, it’s just a pirouette. If you are in a stall turn and you do a pirouette it’s a pirouette stall turn. Or you are doing a pirouette while climbing out regardless, if it’s on its side or upside down or upright. Very simple thing to do.

    Jeff why would you setup the heli to feel the same with the different headspeeds? Isn’t the whole point with selecting a higher headspeed to have more collective and cyclic power?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  17 днів тому

      For two reasons, one Vincent wanted auto level on a separate switch where no matter what head speed auto level could be turned on. Two, even though it’s not a different feel throughout the RPM range of course the more RPM the faster the model is going to respond regardless.

    • @frisos3944
      @frisos3944 16 днів тому

      @ oke i thought you lowered the cyclic and collective pitch angle for the higher banks to compensate for the higher headspeed. That would be quite pointless haha.

    I just recently started flying drones, and am interested in adding in heli, but know almost nothing about them. What is the out-the-door price for the heli in the video (complete, with everything needed)?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  День тому

      @@CRA677 so if you have never flown a heli I would highly recommend getting a Goosky S2 RTF and not a 700 size high end model. This heli alone minus radio is around $3,000 the radio is anther $1400. Of course one radio for every heli but still this is an expensive model and setup.

      @CRA677 День тому

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 As I watch more and more of your content, I quickly came to the conclusion that the S2 or the M2 MKII would be a much better choice. Thank you!

    Hey Jeff, how do I get my hobbywing 200 out of safe mode, or is it my IX14?

    A beginner bought this ? Ooof. No matter how tame it's setup and bailout features it has, it's definitely not optimal for a beginner. Shouldn't even pretend that it is. Beautiful Heli though.

      Any helicopter can be set to any flying style. Back in the day that’s all we flew was six and 700 without ever flying a helicopter a day in our life. When I say “beginner” as I stated in the video, I do not recommend a 700 for your first machine but if you have got some experience, I personally don’t see anything wrong with going with a 700 if you can afford to crash it.

    • @elitecol69
      @elitecol69 17 днів тому +2

      Yeh a beginner will have hundreds of crashes ahead of them, this model is very expensive to repair, as all SAB models are with carbon moulded tail boom.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Just because people did it in 1990 doesn't give merit to even halfway condoning this pathway today. If anything, I would think you'd would be more sensitive to the err of this approach, and an opportunity to teach and stress to the newbs the added self-induced pain that is probably going to occur taking this route, like back in the day when there weren't many wonderful choices available today. I'm not just thinking about money, but the low morale, trauma and frustration that the person is likely going to endure after putting it in the dirt a few times. Eventually probably causing this dying hobby to lose another interested person. To each their own though. Just trying to help.

      I understand what you are saying and where you are coming from. And while I agree with some. Like I stated in the video, I do not recommend any person by a 700 as their first helicopter. But! If you have some experience and you can fly a 200 or 500 size machine around no problem. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot fly a 700 or at least just buy one on it and work up to it. I’m not saying go out as an absolute beginner person never flown a machine before and buy and build a 700 helicopter. That is very dangerous and will put people out real quick. But! If you are a novice or somebody with a little experience and you want to fly a bigger machine and can afford to crash it or rebuild it then go for it. With the technology we have now you can make any helicopter fly exactly how you want and or your skill level.
