We had our Tri=Glide in for a warranty reapair when the new 975 Nightster caught my eye. We have to ride a trike these days due to my wife's health issues, but if I could get her back on two wheels, it would be a 975 Nightster. I love it.
There are a few things I question about the engineering of the Nightster. Number onem the seat should flip up from the right side of the bike so you can take the gasoline filler hose down to the filler cap without going over the flipped up seat. Just makes better sense to me. Numver two, the muffler. If the muffler was just an inch, maybe an inch and one half lower you wouldn't have to remove it to get the rear axle out when changing the rear tire and plus the passenger foot pegs could be a little lower making much more comfortable for the passenger.
If I can get my wife back on two wheels it will br the Nightster with the Long Haul package and a luggage rack with a round leather top bag for the rack.
I will probably have the passenger seat redone to add more height so my wife's legs more comfortable. Do you know of any passenger floor boards that will fit the new Nightster 975?

Well, as a brand new Harley 'rider' (currently on a Kawasaki Vulcan 650S; aka "sport cruiser') testing this thing for the first time during the Demo Day, I was absolutely NOT impressed. Maybe it was the mid-controls, maybe it was the engine sound... I don't know... I really wanted to like this bike but there is no way I would even consider it as a replacement for my Vulcan. And for the record, the bikes that impressed me the most were Street Bob, Fat Bob, and Fat Boy (would you call them the 'old school' Harley's?).
The street bob and fat bob are cool bikes. Keep it old school is my saying, so to speak. I am not referring to the bike. Thanks for watching.
