Next to "Paul" which is NOT apart of the Cornetto Trilogy but still keeping Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as the main characters, this is the best movie with them.
Hot Fuzz perfected the techniques, but World's End used them to say something; this one is my favorite of the Cornetto trilogy, and I appreciate that Stella picked up on the fact that Gary was doing this as a send-off for being sick, just not physiologically sick. He brought no luggage. 😢 Edit: Sorry, it was Hayley that picked that up.
Since you finished the Cornetto Trilogy I highly recommend the both of you reacting to _Baby Driver_ and especially _Scott Pilgrim vs the World_ as the both of them are directed by Edgar Wright.
We all know Edgar Wright loves his foreshadowing. The giveaway that everyone is a Blank in the villiage is the cars. They're all the same car, a hybrid.
My personal favorite of the trilogy. World's End was a surprise when i first watched it & it's so inspired. People diss on it simply cause it's the newest. It had the best twists, best plot, best characterization. I mean Gary is such a real person. I know people very fucking similar. And the way the guys react to his antics is so true to life. I just love this movie, great reaction
Of note that two superb dramatic actors in Eddie Marsan and Paddy Considine play excellent comedic roles ( especially Marsan, who also had the most heartbreaking speech about being bullied) A fine reaction 😊😊😊😊
Also there is a cameo from one of the best writer/actors around today, being the brilliant Reece Shearsmith ( League of Gentlemen, Psychoville and Inside No 9) 😊😊😊😊
I am impressed! You guys tumbled to Gary's problems much earlier than most reactors watching the film. Gary's on a suicide mission and the pub crawl is his version of a last meal. One could argue that the film is a tragedy except for Gary's last minute redemption. Of course it cost the whole world for him to save himself - and the world.
He didn't save himself; he might have stopped drinking, but he still had an addiction to romanticize the past to the point of not being able to have a functional life
@@carlalussini I think he just wants to do right this time. He hurt his friends a lot in the past, now he uses their "blanks" to redeem himself in some way. They were stranded here due to him so he probably thinks it's his responsibility to help them live now.

technically hayley is right, gary is sick (addiction is a sickness, so is depression), and it's very subtly implied he'd probably off himself after finishing the golden mile. This movie is so sad and gary is such a good character.
Yeah, that's why in the pub fight when Gary said to Andy "twist the melon, man" and Gary and Andy's reaction after taking off the robot's head were like "hell yeah" and both went back to being for a little second the wild and young guys who once were, that part is amazing but also very very sad because of that feeling of can't being that young man who say and act like that again when you get older 💔
Shaun of the dead is my favourite. Mostly because I loved the show they did called Spaced and the hype for that film in England when it was released was really high.
Been a fan for several years, I had no idea you were continuing reactions so imagine my delight when the algorithm suggested I give you a watch?! Better late than never!
The depiction of a teenage lads 80's pub crawl is sadly quite accurate, back then they'd start at 16 if you had pubs that would serve you but by 17/18 there was always a few bars and even clubs where you knew you could get served even if you looked young, and then you'd start as a large group and get whittled down and scattered during the events of the evening, the next day was largely made up of conversations trying to work out what happened to who the night before and where they ended up, I'm the same age as Simon Pegg and and woke up in some strange places at that time, in a telephone box, church, on a roundabout and actually inside a town hall with little recollection of how I got there.
Hot Fuzz is my favorite of the three. I didn't get The World's End on the first watch but liked it better on a second watch and after thinking about it more. Knowing Gary's deal from the very beginning makes it a nearly different movie. Plus, there's the usual Cornetto thing of seeing the many, many bits of foreshadowing on the next watches. I graduated high school in 1991 and was a goth and Sisters of Mercy fan, and there are some bits in the movie that hit different for goths and SoM fans.
For me the ranking is Shaun at #1, Fuzz at #2, then World at #3. The first two are essentially a tie and can swap places depending on my mood. I still love this one, but it just doesn't land as well as the others for me. Glad to see you still reacting!!!🎉
Ah love it!! :D hehe its great how yall got more wrapped up in the alien "merger" storyline than just the humor which is great, i feel the tonal shift in this movie throws people off and they say its not that great like the others but i think its fantastic haha its witty as the rest and it has some nice sci fi just throwback jokes anywho great content loving it so far glad yall kept reaction :D cant wait to see more! 7:34 Yes, The Ship of Theseus. Or in this case, the Granada Mark II of Theseus. Gary King is the tragic figure of a guy who peaked in high school and has finally realized it. And that's before we get further into the story and learn how deep things really go. Andy's freakout is my favorite single moment in the movie. Been there. Just not with alien robots.
Hot Fuzz is my favorite by a good distance. Saw it in theaters with zero expectations and was fully immersed the whole time. I have been quoting “Little hand says it’s time to rock n roll” for decades to see if anybody gets it.
I feel this movie... my idenitcal Sisters Of Mercy shirt and black trench-coat... that had to be put away after constantly being called Neo. btw... the other 2 from your old channel were nice, but I tuned in for yourselves! Great to see you continuing
The monologue Gary does at the beginning where he describes the original pub crawl when they were kids - it basically describes what happens to them when they do the crawl as adults. O-Man disappearing at one of the pubs, Sam showing up and going into the bathroom with Gary, how it ends with them sitting on a hill under a red sky looking at the town, etc. It's really well written and works for both versions of the crawl.
I've been following Pegg & co. Since Spaced TV show... They came closest to catching the vibe of a bunch of house sharing pennyless 90s stoners with that, and continued with the emblem of that through the movies... As it was almost a slogan, when someone mustered the energy to get up, and go to the corner shop: "anyone want anything?" ....(In unison) "Cornetto!" We basically lived on Chinese takeaway food and Cornettos 😊
they also left out Gary's reunion w/ O man's sister in the disableds, Nick Frost putting his drunken hand through the glass, and potty humor w/the voice at the end. Like geeez man..... Fun movie though. I wonder if these 2 girls have watched 'TROPIC THUNDER' and whether it would survive Hayley's editing process LOL
Having Pierce Brosnan in this film and Timothy Dalton in HF makes me wish that Edgar Wright had somehow gotten another James Bond actor to be in SotD. Just for symmertry.
The line "they told me when to go to bed!" is brilliantly written and acted by Pegg. It is a simple kind of funny statement but it means so much if you think about it. To Gary, it indicates how he lost his agency, his humanity when he was institutionalised following his suicide attempt. He was reduced to a child again, no longer trusted to make decisions for himself.
Hot Fuzz is my favorite, I remember seeing one in the theaters and thinking it was ok but it is one that rewatching every few years improves each time, probably because it's about growing up. The blanks lighting up is one of my favorite effects in any scifi.
I got to see "Shaun of the Dead" months before it came out in the States and, as a big fan of the original "Dawn of the Dead" and other zombie films, and as a huge Anglophile and lover of British comedies/films, I was absolutely gobsmacked at SotD. Out of the trilogy, it's still my favorite although I agree that "Hot Fuzz" is the better film between the first two in the 'trilogy'. This film took me a little while to fully warm up to as its tone was darker, but I really like it now and know it's importance to Simon Pegg as it really dealt with his alchoholism so he put a lot into the script dealing with that. If you want to see Simon & Nick's first project together, which Edgar Wright directed and where the idea for SotD first came about, watch the British TV series "Spaced". So many actors from that series reappeared in all the Cornetto Trilogy films, especially SotD, but all the way through this film, as well. SotD has a load of Easter Eggs in it just calling back to "Spaced" and it's a really fun series and you can really see Edgar's style develop over the 2 seasons. Your reactions were great and I'm so glad you two continued with your own reaction channel.
This is a movie about a secret robot cabal from outer space taking over the world and the most unbelievable part is that he managed to get 5 pints for £20
Hot Fuzz is my favourite but this movie holds more meaning to me. Notes Hot Fuzz akso had a change of genre around the 40 minute mark Shoutout to Paddy Considine. An amazing dramatic actor and an interesting writer/director. You might know him as an actor from House of the Dragon. Or, if you want to hear him with a decent American accent, he was in a miniseries based on Stephen King, The Outsider.
To see where the Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright collaboration all started then the UK comedy series Spaced is a must .. although it does have a lot of 90's UK references you may not get but still is a fantastic comedy series ...
I'm biased to liking zombies, but Hot Fuzz is my personal favorite. I don't mind depressing downer elements in movies, but Hot Fuzz is an air-tight script, a well crafted mystery and excellently handled action that perfectly pays tribute to its action movie roots. I appreciate the nod to Hong Kong action films that The World's End does, and I'm not opposed to beating the final logical boss with words, but I feel like the final conversation wasn't handled very well.
I LOVE this film and your reactions are superb 😊 the fact it was filmed in the towns either side of where I live SLIGHTLY added to it but it's more nuanced than Hot Fuzz and I love them both
You guys should watch the movie Paul. It wasn’t directed by Edgar Wright and it wasn’t part of the Cornetto trilogy but Simon Pegg and Nick Frost both wrote it and starred as two best friends on another adventure. It’s a comedy definitely worth looking into!!!
When I hear about pub crawls I always think, thats not a lot of drinking, like maybe I am missing something or just an alco but 12 drinks over I assume several hours doesnt seem that extreme. Like the hardest part sounds like the walking several miles on your way to each pub.
I love their reaction when the blank stuff pops up. I had the same reaction back when I first watched it. For some reason, I didn't get the message after the first 2 movies and assumed this would just be a movie about a pub crawl with no weird stuff in it. I love this one but the ending is a bit depressing. My favourite is Hot Fuzz
Glad you guys finished the series of movies. Hot Fuzz it's my favorite of the three. I can see what you mean about the Blanks being more frightening then Zombies cuz they have a goal to seek out the group and they look normal still the idea that a corpse of those you love is chasing you is upsetting but then again hearing what happens to the Empties isn't any better. The huge twist in this is jarring at first but also fun, the energy picks up.
You could watch the Edgar Wright British TV show Spaced next. They pretty much has every cast member from the trilogy in it, and pretty much every theme in the trilogy is in the TV show. It’s just even geekier.
I❤This Simon Pegg Movies! One Of Favorites Is Hector And The Search For Happiness & Man Up! Though Shawn Of The Dead This Movie Are Great Movies Too ! Im A Big Scott Pilgrim Fan Edgar Wrights Movies Are Grand! I Just ❤Simon & Nick's Movies!
The Worlds End is my favourite, but I'm the same age as the characters & so this hits me with a level of grim melancholic nostalgia younger viewers may miss. Just give it time! 😉
Hot Fuzz is the EAAAAAAASY favorite. It's BY FAR the best one. Hot Fuzz is INCREDIBLE. Shaun Of The Dead is great. The World's End is........just good.
About when he got pulled over, we don't legally need to carry our driving licences with us in the UK while driving, so it's not *impossible* for a person to successfully pretend to be somebody else... There was so much wrong with that car that is it's highly unlikely he would have got away with it though. (I am aware that there are arguably more far fetched aspects to this film. 😂 )
I love all 3 of the Cornetto Trilogy, but if I'm asked which I like the best, it's Hot Fuzz. It's the one I choose the watch the most. It's followed by Shawn of the Dead, then The Worlds End. But again, I love them all
I've seen the reactions to Shaun of the dead and Hot fuzz on White Noise Reacts already and enjoyed those and I enjoyed this. Love the videos on Hayley and Stella. 👍 I liked Hot fuzz as well.
Would definitely recommend watching Baby Driver if you haven’t, another Edgar Wright film but not Cornetto. I honestly love it so much, and it one of my favourites of his along with hot fuzz. Also Scott Pilgrim is brilliant as well
Gary's story becomes a little darker as recently Simon Pegg has come out with his own experience with alcoholism and mental health struggles which makes his performance more heartbreaking towards the end. I believe he was in the process of getting sober around the time of filming this and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Me and my best friend were too young to watch this in the cinema when this came out back in 2013 however I recall getting the blu-ray once it got released on home video and laughing all the way through. It wasn't my favourite at first but growing up and learning more about mental health and having my own 'golden mile', I believe The World's End ever so slightly beats Hot Fuzz on a good day in my book.
@@YourXavier Good catch. They practically have the same melody but altogether different lyrics. I totally forgot about "Dance on Glass" until you brought it up.
Shaun of the Dead is my favorite because it was the first I watched and watched a dozen times and memorized and as a horror-fan loved all the homages. Hot Fuzz is my favorite because it's fucking hilarious. By far the funniest movie of the trio. The World's End is my favorite because it's grown on me the most on rewatches and it has real emotional depth to it. So there.
You ALWAYS finish the pub crawl. And never regret leaving someone behind. You honor them with a drink at the next pub. And crawl on. 😂
Them’s the rules!

You could watch the Edgar Wright British TV show Spaced next. They pretty much has every cast member from the trilogy in it, and pretty much every theme in the trilogy is in the TV show. It’s just even geekier.
Yay you guys have your own channel!?
7:33 aka 'Trigger's Broom' in the UK from the TV show 'Only Fools And Horses'.
✌️🤟🤘
🤣🤣👍Absolute classic scene
Now you've gotta watch Scot Pilgrim VS The World and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (which is a sequel to Scott Pilgrim VS The World, not a remake).
Whoa. Stella swore.
Ahh my favorite buddy road trip, coming of age, martial arts, zombie, alien invasion, romantic comedy movie - best of its genre.
Honestly since you watched the corentto series there is another movie with Simon pegg and Nick Frost its called Paul.
The Marmalade sandwich scene terrified me because you never know this could happen in a horrifying way.
I always enjoy this film as it was filmed in an area I know well.
28:20 there's a theory that Gary was planning to kill himself after the Golden Mile.
🍦 Cornetto 1: *Zombies*
🍦 Cornetto 2: *Cults* My favourite!
🍦 Cornetto 3: *Aliens*
They’re all hilarious & fun 🇬🇧
Hot Fuzz probably my favorite. Shawn of the dead introduced me to Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright so I am very grateful for that!
Hot Fuzz is the EAAAAAAASY favorite. It's BY FAR the best one.
Hot Fuzz is INCREDIBLE.
Shaun Of The Dead is great.
The World's End is........just good.
7:32 "The Beast of Theseus"
About when he got pulled over, we don't legally need to carry our driving licences with us in the UK while driving, so it's not *impossible* for a person to successfully pretend to be somebody else... There was so much wrong with that car that is it's highly unlikely he would have got away with it though. (I am aware that there are arguably more far fetched aspects to this film. 😂 )
Gotta love these two.
The REAL reason anyone watched WNR.
Also love this trilogy.
Why lie, I'm just here for a incredible movie experience paired with Stella's equally incredible beauty and charm. #angelface 😇
There's always one.
@@ivankawnartist I can't help it 😞
@@dsc5754 That's just your member talking.
@@ivankawnartist don't say that 😞
I love all 3 of the Cornetto Trilogy, but if I'm asked which I like the best, it's Hot Fuzz.
“This is the end”
Next pls lol
You guys should watch Society of the Snow. It’s an incredible film, can be very dark and emotional at times, but overall it’s an amazing film.
I'm british too and it's true we act a different way on alcohol😂
Would definitely recommend watching Baby Driver if you haven’t, another Edgar Wright film but not Cornetto. I honestly love it so much, and it one of my favourites of his along with hot fuzz. Also Scott Pilgrim is brilliant as well
This movie is really fun to watch on an ipad, in the middle of the woods with nobody within 20 miles at night.
Glad you finally have your own channel. You two deserve it. Quite a flick this one is eh? Think I'll have a pint. Subscribed to help you out.
Love this film, wish it got more love.
Much more depth on repeat viewings :)
"On what planet..."
Gary King loves the Sisters of Mercy. Sisters of Mercy has a song whose title is "Black Planet". There's your answer.
I thought it was called Dance on Glass ;)
@@YourXavier Good catch. They practically have the same melody but altogether different lyrics. I totally forgot about "Dance on Glass" until you brought it up.
congrats in making new videos , sad to see the other guys leave , onward and upward .
I wonder if this film was, in some way, therapeutic for Simon Pegg, because he suffered depression.
You two should check out "Crocodile Dundee" (1986). It's a fun rom-com.
So there.
Hey, cool to see you guys spun off together!
Okay, I’ve just come here from A Beautiful Mind on an entirely different channel!! 😮
Wait these two are still doing reactions omgggg I'm so happy
