People are tired of jobs where leaders don't care. Let robots take over, and use Bill Gates' proposed robot tax to fund Universal Basic Income, so people can live without doing jobs they don't want. Companies don't care about us, and we no longer care about these roles. There are already 10 million working-age men not interested in rejoining the workforce, proving it's possible to live without a job. Let robots take all our jobs-we don't want them anymore. @@Jesus_Saves_Believers As parents, we're barely scraping by after having to pay for all of the materials and classes and books and things needed for the schools, plus increased property taxes, plus 10 different fundraisers every week for more. For some reason it's never enough, even though we already pay for everything.
Living through 2024 is a never ending roller coaster. We survive one drop just to go up and see ANOTHER huge drop.

@DetoxMyLife, that depends on where you live. I worked in healthcare and was in a union. Someone can start one, but employees have to be willing to join. They fight for you. No union, no raise, or livable wage.

I found out from the news. Theyre covering it in a sense that they're blaming workers for wanting a raise and job security, considering the CEO and shareholders are getting millions. They're so essential that their strike will stagnate the US food supply, but they're only getting around 30$? They're worth 60$.

Someday new ports will be built with robot workers. Because of teamsters. And few will care because nobody gets paid as well without college degree as manual laborers in unions do. Having said that. These folks should be making a dollar more every two years and automation should be allowed as well.

Folks tiring me with the back and forth. So we can all collectively agree that we are all living paycheck to paycheck, admitting $80,000-$100,000 still ain't enough money to live comfortably with a family because of prices being so high (if you dont believe that cool and im glad you are very rich and feeling no squeeze or have no sympathy or whatever that's not the point). What Was a livable wage is now no longer enough.
You need almost $40 and hour just to afford an apartment by yourself. Food high, gas high, rent $3000 car note $500 a month DAYCARE 2000+ damn dollars a month per kid. So these folks are sick of the sicka and lobbying to get enough money to reach what we now agree is the new middle class --because they've raised the prices so much that now means above 100k a year. And yet all the comments persist about how they get paid enough and shouldn't get the raise increase over a period of years to keep up with the COL which we Agree is not settling back down any time soon.
So we agree that life is too expensive, but we don't agree anyone should do anything to try and rectify that for themselves. Because if IM suffering then everyone ELSE should be suffering. If I don't have $50 an hour bc im not willing to do what it takes to get it, then they don't deserve it either even though they are responsible for bringing half the goods I use into the country every day. This why we don't have free healthcare. Tired.

I have seen virtually no reporting on this issue. I live on the East Coast. It's time to stock up those pantries before the cost of goods skyrocket. Getcho tissue, canned goods, soap, and basically everything that comes to the US by ship. Think about everything that we import from China, Mexico, and elsewhere... Pay these longshoreman what they are asking for!
Even if they gave them the $30/hr raise they're asking for, they probably wouldn't accept that either and push for $100/hr instead.

I travel for work and have been to a dozen + cities in various...some large metropolitan areas, other smaller towns/cities. There are a lot of people travelling, airports are packed, but the cities themselves seem quiet/hushed like something about to go down. Strange vibes.

If people kept pantries there would be no need to panic buy because people would already have their essentials. Waiting til a foreseeable (and by forseeable I mean no matter where you live SOMETHING - a power outage, storm, job loss, etc can prevent you from eing able to get your basics) problem pops up to start doing something about it will have you messed up.
