More of subtlety and sensitivity than is usually the case in this great virtuoso showpiece. Kent Nagarno and Pletnev great combination here. Some say Pletnev can be an icy perfectionist - not the case here, he is delicate and stylish.

On the one side it is so rare to hear something so beautifull, on the other side the whole melancholy of the poem text is there transformed to piano sound, it is so difficult not to get emotional when hearing this. One of the best examples of russian piano mastery of all times.
