Blizzard is a DoT, it doesnt work with Firebolt enchantment. HOWEVER, it does work with Xfals. Test it yourself, Xfals overall damage is much better than Blue Rose.
i like tanky i can recommend oculus+soulbrand. got sub 5s teleport cause rolled 14 teleport on oculus. Oculus gives you few evades on ESOs evade gives 20%crit and with blizzard and few ranks its basically constant 20%crit and u got 100% uptime of pants buff. Have a play with oculus and this build man ull love it.
Which aspect do you replace for your stated:" I like to use the Ancient Flame Aspect once the build is nearly perfected..." Storm Swell or Frozen Tundra?
You've earned a follower, I really REALLY appreciate the thorough explanations that you don't get anywhere else- where people just bullet point everything without naming the essential 'why'. The fact you mention what works how and what perks or flaws it gives makes your build absolutely amazing and easy to understand. Often times I've had issues such as 'where the heck does your vulnerabilities come from', which for a new player is kind of a necessary question to answer. Some people out there seem to forget not everyone's hardcore building with 500% grasp and understanding of the classes. So yes, big thank you to you.
This is a BIG thing that’s great to point out. So many content creators forget that there’s people of all skill & understanding levels, and they just make stuff for the sweats. Stuff like this is phenomenal for basically all level of players. Accessibility 🔥

Another thing I’d like that could go in your “tl;dw” section would be a priority list of what is the most needed for the build and what’s just “extra”. This would be nice to know for when you are leveling with this build and don’t have the max items yet.
Ok so after playing this build for 5 days I will give my thoughts and input. My character has all the goodies except Genesis and Ring of Starless Skies, all lvl 21 glyphs and is set up exactly like Nick's guide. I breeze through T100 NMV, I just hit Deep Freeze just before final room chest pops and let blizzard spikes finish clearing the room. Solo Duriel I kill 90% of the time before the first burrow, so about 8 seconds. For Helltide I farm 20+ steel 100+ roses by switching in raiment/godslayer/ghostwalkers/ drop frozen orb for Tele enchant. Actually correction, I leave that for Duriel too so the actual Nick build would kill him even faster. Its great now and I feel w/ Genesis + Ring of SS it will be the best leaderboard sorc build. Hope this helps anyone browsing the feedback
Nick, do you use Ice Armor for the higher tier Vaults/Nm's like you showcased? Your planner does not have Ice Armor and uses Lightning Spear instead, is that for easier content? Also, did you test out the effect intel has on damage , do we want it on equipment?
hey man, at 8:00 you said that using Blizzard the mobs are instantly burning, but from my understanding Blizzard does not proc the firebolt enchantment, did I miss something? Or is the frozen orb enchant reliable enough to give you consistent burning in combo with Firebolt?

im level 80, first time following this channel and build. It def still works as of early Feb. Doing T100's solo without any of Ubers or Uniques. Just legendaries with the specs and imprint. Cant wait to get the pet leveled, my glphys leveled and finish my paragon board.
This is all that is bad about D4. Doing the hardest content without even having leveled up. What is the point of leveling, leveling the pet and chasing uber uniques when you already do the hardest content... I mean, you already won... :D Well perhaps you can try the builds, but trying various build should be tied up to getting to do the hardest content... For me that is just time to say: "ok the season is over".
@@marsovac Whatever, play how you want to play and dont be salty. I paid like $40 for the right spec equipment since I refuse to and cant grind hundreds of hours for ubers. There are hundreds of builds to pick from dude, some better than others lol. This is my first season being able to do this following a build. Dont be mad someone got one right. Plus my pet was already maxed at level 80. Plus if you knew what you were talking about, doing a T100 is not the same as beating Uber Lilith which i still cant even come close on. The latest dev video at 5:20 the dev says we want people to feel like they are playing a broken build, and cheating it creates fun.
@@FriarPop You can't beat uber lilith because you don't know how. Money can't buy skill and they made phase two not skippable with DPS :) P.S. You violated the ToS of the game. Buying stuff for real money through third party is not allowed. If you don't have the time to play the game, then play some other game that requires less time instead of violating the terms of service.

Have you tested out using Xfals instead of Starless Skies? I believe blizzard is considered a dot, and the damage from Xfals would both trigger and crit off of both blizzard and firebolt enchant.
Thanks Nick! I was having a really hard time with the wizard and being able to survive to the point I switched characters. If anyone is looking for a tankier build this is the way to go. I have been playing with some of the aspects a bit on boots and crown but otherwise AAA BUILD.
Great condensing of info! I’m doing Blizz Sorc for the first time after I found ice shard to be underwhelming. One I’ve seen is using X’Fals instead of Starless/Blue Rose. I saw a showcase where X’Fals was proccing in the millions since Blizzard and FB enchant are both considered DOTs.
General rank imo s3 best to last blizzard(some changes/no uber's) > fireball(Illuiminator)/meteor> firewall/meteor. There's another build out there alil more dmg alil less tanky(blizzard/Idk if Nick wants me to say name). I'd follow guide and change blue rose to x'fal's and head to Godslayer imo, rainment for boss/helltide etc. Try to get ranged dmg reduction(body or neck), is what will kill you really, rest can be face tanked. I'm not looking to farm duriel 4k times again like s2 have all but doombringer. As far as Arccuied build is the least tanky.
Played a day with another creators build that just popped, but I do like your explanation better and many aspects of your build. I did not have Glacier until today. Oddly enough, I'm using your pet build (who you hate, so sad) and it fixed my mana and survivability issues right up!

Love the video and I’m running this build with a few tweaks of my own. When you were talking about the difference between devouring blaze and permafrost, you were saying you’d rather have permafrost, but that’s only to elites, so wouldn’t devouring blaze be the move even though it’s only crit but can apply to all enemies? Just came across this video. What gear do you suggest if you don’t have any uniques? Also I’m only level 45 so I have a ways to go, but trying to find a build where I can farm the quickest. Getting the aspects shouldn’t be a problem, just obviously no uniques right now for a while.
Quick question, should I place conceited on Amulet instead of Glacial? I am a Meteor/Blizzard hybrid, so conceited can apply to both metoer/ice spikes, and since conceited is multiplicative, ice spike will deal almost the same damage? Also how do you feel about a full rolled fist of fate? (immobilized add 18%x on devouring blazed, but will lose crit+atk speed + lucky hit which is sad)
Is there something that will trigger ice spikes more often with the Glacial aspect? Or is it just randomly? And thanks for the guide. Works so well in T100's
Thanks for the build review. I have everything in this build but judging how you play this build i best get myself a chest piece with DR rolls for more survivability. I don’t have the starless ring yet my gear is not all 925 yet so I guess I got to min max and work on that. I do like the point you made about the exploit glyph for bossing. Finally all got the uniques even a blue rose from vaults not duriel. I guess i just have to now get better rolls on stats and try farming for starless ring. Thanks for the guide, it’s simple to understand and I liked how you explain everything thoroughly!
Hey @NickTew, I'm curious as to why you do not tap into the Burning Instinct legendary node. Would it not massively increase burning damage via the firebolt enchantment?
Lightning spear is the play instead of ice armor since you shouldnt need more barrier and it gives barrier anyways since its a cooldown. If you have Shako you can take points out of flame shield completely and still use it and then max out teleport and have 2 free points. Would also take ice blades for bossing over frost nova but frost nova for dungeons and general play.
Yeah honestly you can swap it around, it's not a big difference in my experience. I used ice blades for a long time on bosses but it was pretty inconsistent unfortunately.
I am using the Anient flame for the extra attack speed, I don't have a starless skies and not really having any mana issues due my high regen which is over 30% - once you get this point I think it feels really nice with the extra attack speed.
I am going through the paragon board, and I got to the elemental list it shows 40 for 40 for intellect for you but with the way the points are spread I don’t see that, so is your elemental list activated for the requirements for the purchase and radius?
FYI you can absolutely get away 5800 armor if you have a SHAKO, use Raiment, Tibaults, Flickerstep, and the TP enchant. constant barrier. I run t100 vaults with those with my builds, it works great. good in boss fights
@NickTew Great content. I do have a question based on my testing of Fire Bolt Enchantment on dummies. Blizzard is NOT procing this enchantment, its only procked when Frozen orb hits or you TP on them as they are direct...so was thinking Lucky hit for that is greater than say dmg close and/or putting the Burning support stone on pet. Thoughts? Also, have you tested the "pop" from X'Fals over Blue Rose? I don't have starless yet.
I use Lightning Spear now adays to help apply burn, Frozen Orb helps with that as well. Not worth speccing into more lucky hit imo. Feel free to add burning support for more redundancy if you prefer, but I find the pet is rarely fighting what I am fighting so it's a laust cause imo. I don't think xfals is necessary but feel free to use it if you prefer.
If int doesn't matter so much on the amulet and only applies to skill damage therefor does not buff the ice spike damage does that mean it's not as important on gear/weapon as well? The other parts recommend it on the weapon and gear?
How you do this dmg on lillith or duriel? I Build the Same staff like you Posted on moba. Clear dungeon no Problem, but i deal no dmg to lillith or duriel oder malphas son or butcher… How is it possible? Maybe u can help me out, i love this Build but dmg on bosses is really low, i need 5 min against butcher
Interesting switch to frost. I really wanted to play fire this season, but the boss kills are depressing, so I might try this build. What about the oculus as an alternative weapon? I am still in the eary 90s and have been playing around with it. The extra dmg and teleport charges feel nice, but I don't know if they are compatible with this blizzard build.
I'm running a similar blizzard ice spike build with the occulus wand that auto applies the teleport enchant & a gear setup to give me +7 on glass cannon & +12 on teleport. I'm teleporting through walls and hit like a truck. It's pure chaos.
hey Nick, @20:00 in, you have your brain wave about int not affecting the Ice Spike damage, but on the build I still see int and all stats on the weapon. Would you replace those with something else now? Like damage to close/far or crit damage?
Looks like you've dropped Ice Armor since you made this video, but you're still putting a point into Ice Armor, Enhanced Ice Armor, and Shimmering Ice Armor in the Mobalytics build. Is that one of the bugged issues with the site? I tweaked the build a little and put those points somewhere else. Thanks so much for the video and the build. :)
Why use flamefeeder? if it requires direct damage and ice spikes doesn’t count as direct damage to proc fire bolt how does it benefit from flamefeeder? Sorry, just trying to figure things out. Love the build.
Thanks, for the extra knowledge, I wasn’t sure if they fixed Esu, and didn’t realize the points in blizz wasted. Perked up what I was using. No tibaults will yet so I’m using iceheart brais only t3 so it doesn’t really make a difference
Great vid. Am i wrong in thinking that Blizzard does not apply burning from the fire bolt enchantment like you said in the video? From what i can tell it does not and things like your teleport and frost nova are what you need to use to apply it.

What about X'Fal's instead of Blue Rose? Have you tested that out to see if its any better? You also mentioned that Lucky hit doesnt matter for this build, but regardless of whether you use XFals or Blue Rose, that proc is based on lucky hit. Is it not worth it to spec a bit into lucky hit for that? Are the other damage modifiers providing more damage?
@@Barn80 I was thinking that too until i noticed that Blue Rose has +dmg with ice spikes, XFals doesnt have that. Ice spikes is where all of our dmg is coming from. I get 10k-20k more dmg from each crit with blue rose, and theres a lot of them!
I'd love it if you would fill out more information. What aspects to be using until we get the best in slots. What stats should we be looking for on each piece of gear etc. Which glyphs to get first, which ones to level to 15 and which to level to 21 first. So much more information would be helpful.
is godslayer crown worth in this build or not? i just got it from the poison worm and besides the pulling of enemies i don't see a big diff in dmg. does that 60% dmg apply to bosses or only pulled mobs?
I'm trying to follow this build, but have a small question and it could be because I'm an idiot. But when starting on the Paragon when I place my Flamefeeder on the board the radius is not the same as your build. Do I need to lvl it completely for it to show the same radius?
Read the first section of the glyph. Increased radius at L15. Just keep leveling it. I also suggest you level something else first since you can get the 25dex for additional bonus without L15
I’ve not been able to find a glacial since ~level 45 and it’s absolutely showing the lack of damage as I’m in wt4 as the ice spikes are doing about 750 damage - is there a better build to use while trying to grind out some better glacials? I just feel like I’m so weak and really holding myself back by trying to build into the blizzard playstyle without a much better glacial
I prefer starless with it's mana cost reduction and straight up damage increase, which benefits bossing damage output much more than xfals. Even though you'll see big numbers with xfals, a 40x to 10s of ice spikes a second is more damage output. Feel free to use xfals if you prefer, I just don't think it's necessary or provides much to the build. It's definitely preference to use it vs blue rose though.
Yo Nick, does the Permafrost passive really work for the ice spikes? Are they considered a "skill"? I would not think so so maybe these 2 points could go elsewhere but I'm not entirely sure.
how much mana cost reduction is minimum.. I have 30.1 and it nothing. Do we also need a lot of mana regeneration as well? upgraded my ring and got 37.1 now
Nick, greate video, but there is somethig that does not make sense: on 18:17 you say on wep you need int + all stats and on 19:50 you say int does not add dmg so why need on the wep instead of + dmg afix? thanks and sorry for questioning
The damage looks good. I only had to change my paragon board since everything else was pretty identical. Lol. Boosted my damage a bit. But i notice you have gems in your jewelry. Are you also low on resistances with this board setup? My resistances dropped like 21% forcing me to put gems in my jewelry, leaving one of my resistances low. I'll have to look tomorrow and see what's wrong since I know I have nicely rolled gear. I can barely focus. I need to sleep. Lol.
Hey! Yes this is an issue if you follow the Uber uniques Paragon board, but aren't using starless skies. Starless has an additional 12% all res, that + a diamond should res cap you. With the standard variation Paragon board I specced into more all res to accommodate for people not having starless. Please lmk if that helped. You may have to supplement with diamonds if your jewelry is lower item power or your reinforced glyph isn't leveled
@NickTew Thanks for the reply. Yeah, when I changed to your paragon board, I also had to use 3 different glyphs, reinforced being one of them. Got it to 17 right now, but I will still be low res when it hits 21. I'll keep playing as it is and see how it goes. If my luck is like last season, I'll probably get multiple starless skies. Lol. So no, I don't have it yet. I wasn't aware the board was different from both standard and uber setup. If you mentioned that, I probably missed it. Lol. I was up late and needed to sleep.

Just came across this video. What gear do you suggest if you don’t have any uniques? Also I’m only level 45 so I have a ways to go, but trying to find a build where I can farm the quickest. Getting the aspects shouldn’t be a problem, just obviously no uniques right now for a while.

Quick question, should I place conceited on Amulet instead of Glacial?
I am a Meteor/Blizzard hybrid, so conceited can apply to both metoer/ice spikes, and since conceited is multiplicative, ice spike will deal almost the same damage?
Also how do you feel about a full rolled fist of fate? (immobilized add 18%x on devouring blazed, but will lose crit+atk speed + lucky hit which is sad)
Is there something that will trigger ice spikes more often with the Glacial aspect? Or is it just randomly?

Thanks for the build review. I have everything in this build but judging how you play this build i best get myself a chest piece with DR rolls for more survivability. I don’t have the starless ring yet my gear is not all 925 yet so I guess I got to min max and work on that. I do like the point you made about the exploit glyph for bossing. Finally all got the uniques even a blue rose from vaults not duriel. I guess i just have to now get better rolls on stats and try farming for starless ring. Thanks for the guide, it’s simple to understand and I liked how you explain everything thoroughly!

Hey @NickTew, I'm curious as to why you do not tap into the Burning Instinct legendary node. Would it not massively increase burning damage via the firebolt enchantment?
Lightning spear is the play instead of ice armor since you shouldnt need more barrier and it gives barrier anyways since its a cooldown. If you have Shako you can take points out of flame shield completely and still use it and then max out teleport and have 2 free points. Would also take ice blades for bossing over frost nova but frost nova for dungeons and general play.
Yeah honestly you can swap it around, it's not a big difference in my experience. I used ice blades for a long time on bosses but it was pretty inconsistent unfortunately.
Nice vid man. It really helped me understand ice sorc better as a new sorc player.
One question tho; can you chill bosses and/or cc them?

Hi Nick. In your video you play with ice armor. But in your skill tree on moba you go for lightning spear and didn't select ice armor?
I am using the Anient flame for the extra attack speed, I don't have a starless skies and not really having any mana issues due my high regen which is over 30% - once you get this point I think it feels really nice with the extra attack speed.
I am going through the paragon board, and I got to the elemental list it shows 40 for 40 for intellect for you but with the way the points are spread I don’t see that, so is your elemental list activated for the requirements for the purchase and radius?

FYI you can absolutely get away 5800 armor if you have a SHAKO, use Raiment, Tibaults, Flickerstep, and the TP enchant. constant barrier. I run t100 vaults with those with my builds, it works great. good in boss fights
@NickTew Great content. I do have a question based on my testing of Fire Bolt Enchantment on dummies. Blizzard is NOT procing this enchantment, its only procked when Frozen orb hits or you TP on them as they are direct...so was thinking Lucky hit for that is greater than say dmg close and/or putting the Burning support stone on pet. Thoughts? Also, have you tested the "pop" from X'Fals over Blue Rose? I don't have starless yet.
Another thing, I do have a Shako. Would that be better than having a legendary with Juggernaut or no?
Disregard this last question, I read your FAQ on your build.
I use Lightning Spear now adays to help apply burn, Frozen Orb helps with that as well. Not worth speccing into more lucky hit imo. Feel free to add burning support for more redundancy if you prefer, but I find the pet is rarely fighting what I am fighting so it's a laust cause imo. I don't think xfals is necessary but feel free to use it if you prefer.
If int doesn't matter so much on the amulet and only applies to skill damage therefor does not buff the ice spike damage does that mean it's not as important on gear/weapon as well? The other parts recommend it on the weapon and gear?
Regarding to your amulet, Ice Spikes is considered a skill and intelligence does increase its damage.

Interesting switch to frost. I really wanted to play fire this season, but the boss kills are depressing, so I might try this build. What about the oculus as an alternative weapon? I am still in the eary 90s and have been playing around with it. The extra dmg and teleport charges feel nice, but I don't know if they are compatible with this blizzard build.
Can an eternal realm character use this or would mana issues be too big of a problem?

You have Lightening Spear listed under secondary skills, but it is meant to be Ice Armour. 😃
I'm running a similar blizzard ice spike build with the occulus wand that auto applies the teleport enchant & a gear setup to give me +7 on glass cannon & +12 on teleport. I'm teleporting through walls and hit like a truck. It's pure chaos.
hey Nick, @20:00 in, you have your brain wave about int not affecting the Ice Spike damage, but on the build I still see int and all stats on the weapon. Would you replace those with something else now? Like damage to close/far or crit damage?
Nevermind, I see this was answered in the comments - Nick said spike damage does scale with int.
Looks like you've dropped Ice Armor since you made this video, but you're still putting a point into Ice Armor, Enhanced Ice Armor, and Shimmering Ice Armor in the Mobalytics build. Is that one of the bugged issues with the site? I tweaked the build a little and put those points somewhere else. Thanks so much for the video and the build. :)

Why use flamefeeder? if it requires direct damage and ice spikes doesn’t count as direct damage to proc fire bolt how does it benefit from flamefeeder? Sorry, just trying to figure things out. Love the build.

Thanks, for the extra knowledge, I wasn’t sure if they fixed Esu, and didn’t realize the points in blizz wasted. Perked up what I was using. No tibaults will yet so I’m using iceheart brais only t3 so it doesn’t really make a difference

Great vid. Am i wrong in thinking that Blizzard does not apply burning from the fire bolt enchantment like you said in the video? From what i can tell it does not and things like your teleport and frost nova are what you need to use to apply it.
Yes you are correct. It gets applied via frozen orb, teleport, & lightning spear

Hello this is the best build ill find on YT but i have only 1 Question if i take Harlequin Crest instead of Antlitzt Head will this be more powerfull or not?
It's good for defense, but not going to increase your damage output.
What about X'Fal's instead of Blue Rose? Have you tested that out to see if its any better? You also mentioned that Lucky hit doesnt matter for this build, but regardless of whether you use XFals or Blue Rose, that proc is based on lucky hit. Is it not worth it to spec a bit into lucky hit for that? Are the other damage modifiers providing more damage?
X fals is way better than blue rose
@@Barn80 I was thinking that too until i noticed that Blue Rose has +dmg with ice spikes, XFals doesnt have that. Ice spikes is where all of our dmg is coming from. I get 10k-20k more dmg from each crit with blue rose, and theres a lot of them!
I'd love it if you would fill out more information. What aspects to be using until we get the best in slots. What stats should we be looking for on each piece of gear etc. Which glyphs to get first, which ones to level to 15 and which to level to 21 first. So much more information would be helpful.

Question here, isn't it better to use Ancient Flame aspect (for ESU's pasive) rather than Storm well? what would be more dmg overall?
Once you solve your mana issues and have enough mana cost reduction then yes Esus is preferable.
Nice build, question: have you tried the X'fal's ring? seems to be the ring to go for damage.

is godslayer crown worth in this build or not? i just got it from the poison worm and besides the pulling of enemies i don't see a big diff in dmg. does that 60% dmg apply to bosses or only pulled mobs?
another question, does godslayer combine with Raiment of the Infinite?
How do you get the expanded coverage with your glyphs?
Also just like intelligence being skill damage and not scaling ice spikes... I think permafrost is the same?? Or am I wrong?

I'm trying to follow this build, but have a small question and it could be because I'm an idiot. But when starting on the Paragon when I place my Flamefeeder on the board the radius is not the same as your build. Do I need to lvl it completely for it to show the same radius?
Read the first section of the glyph. Increased radius at L15. Just keep leveling it. I also suggest you level something else first since you can get the 25dex for additional bonus without L15
Do you have an Ice Shard build? I've been running it but not sure it's optimized at all. Tons of fun and just blows people up

I’ve not been able to find a glacial since ~level 45 and it’s absolutely showing the lack of damage as I’m in wt4 as the ice spikes are doing about 750 damage - is there a better build to use while trying to grind out some better glacials? I just feel like I’m so weak and really holding myself back by trying to build into the blizzard playstyle without a much better glacial
Between key passive, devouring blaze and firebolt enchant why not use x’fals?

I prefer starless with it's mana cost reduction and straight up damage increase, which benefits bossing damage output much more than xfals. Even though you'll see big numbers with xfals, a 40x to 10s of ice spikes a second is more damage output. Feel free to use xfals if you prefer, I just don't think it's necessary or provides much to the build. It's definitely preference to use it vs blue rose though.

Yo Nick, does the Permafrost passive really work for the ice spikes? Are they considered a "skill"? I would not think so so maybe these 2 points could go elsewhere but I'm not entirely sure.

Int and frost dmg scale into your icespikes. These spikes can crit but not trigger lucky hit.
Is this build better than lightning druid? I really don't like being weak at bosses
how much mana cost reduction is minimum.. I have 30.1 and it nothing. Do we also need a lot of mana regeneration as well? upgraded my ring and got 37.1 now

Why do you have Esu's Ferocity active in your "normal" build. that doen't seem to have an affect because the affix isn't used

on 18:17 you say on wep you need int + all stats
and on 19:50 you say int does not add dmg
so why need on the wep instead of + dmg afix?

Int does work, for a second I thought the ice spikes might not count as a skill but after testing it does for most things.
The damage looks good. I only had to change my paragon board since everything else was pretty identical. Lol. Boosted my damage a bit. But i notice you have gems in your jewelry. Are you also low on resistances with this board setup? My resistances dropped like 21% forcing me to put gems in my jewelry, leaving one of my resistances low.
I'll have to look tomorrow and see what's wrong since I know I have nicely rolled gear. I can barely focus. I need to sleep. Lol.
Hey! Yes this is an issue if you follow the Uber uniques Paragon board, but aren't using starless skies. Starless has an additional 12% all res, that + a diamond should res cap you. With the standard variation Paragon board I specced into more all res to accommodate for people not having starless. Please lmk if that helped. You may have to supplement with diamonds if your jewelry is lower item power or your reinforced glyph isn't leveled
@NickTew Thanks for the reply. Yeah, when I changed to your paragon board, I also had to use 3 different glyphs, reinforced being one of them. Got it to 17 right now, but I will still be low res when it hits 21. I'll keep playing as it is and see how it goes.
If my luck is like last season, I'll probably get multiple starless skies. Lol. So no, I don't have it yet. I wasn't aware the board was different from both standard and uber setup. If you mentioned that, I probably missed it. Lol. I was up late and needed to sleep.
