Haha, I remember playing this on my friend's C64 back around 1988 and the celebration we had when I got past the first stage for the first and only time.
UNREAL, did I really just see that game solved with only 1 life lost? I don't recall EVER making it past the 1st level, amazing. Good job! This takes me way back, I remember the music, the lives lost bird and everything... fantastic.
This is amazing. Well done. Remember playing this back in the 80'ies. Loved it althought it was really tough. I made it to Level 5 twice, but never had any chance there. So great to see the end of the game all these years later. I still get really stressed and feel my heart almost ache, when I see that particular level here. I can't believe you made it to the end. I think that level was constructed to be impossible. Man I played this a lot, and ruined at least three joysticks on Level 3 :-D
After so many years.........thanks for this, for the ending......just impossible to pass through 2nd level. oh men.....what wonderfull times where.....this were the really challenging games
I used to put this game on in front of me mate who had a sinclair spectrum, just to show him the capabilities of the 64s sound. back then computer games were just beeps n blips till Rob Hubbard came on the scene.
I played the game back in '86 on a SX-64 and could never even get off the first stage as it was so difficult. I still have the disk and SX-64 to this day. Maybe I'll break it out and try again.
Chapter 1 is the best Music score ever… Used to turn the volume to Max and just enjoy it 😂😂😂. No wonder, my dad went nuts 😂😂😂. Didnt understand it then… Do now. But never the less, it IS a really great score.
Great playthrough, even if I'm 10 years late! This game terrified me more than anything else as a kid. I wanted to play it to completion, but the face of "Fate" speaking to you after you failed always gave me a cold chill.
@ItsSully haha! I could never get past the first stage either, and I'm not even sure if I would have been able to figure out what the fuck to do on that checker board "no go meter" stage.
man that last level looks a bitch. Fuck that. Back then it's all we knew and so we tried but while gaming is somewhat less glorious these days, I'm glad it isn't so punishingly hard. By the nature of the games being quite short no doubt but even then some were painfully difficult. Great playthrough here
Unbelievable skill. People who haven't played this can't understand how difficult it is, disgustingly hard. I could make it to the level with the crab/spider thing, but didn't understand the stupid "no-go" meter...it is *not* as simple as it looks, I still don't get it. Also, I remember my c64 actually lagged on the first level as if it couldn't always keep up with the code - made things even more maddening. Yes it is incredible what Hubbard was able to compose for just 1 game!

Glad to see I wasnt the only person stuck on level 1! Impossible game and great to see it beaten. THanks again!

Funny how UA-cam has everything you can think of I had this game as a child
You, sir, are a better man than I. I could never EVER figure out how to play this game. And I had a legit copy with manual back then!
Level 5 is crazy. Chased through time by death.
The music alone made this game worthwhile
Never once got past first level. That damn banana taunts you.
Rob Hubbard had the best soundtrax
Gotta love the music in fourth chapter.
Awesome music.
I used to put this game on in front of me mate
who had a sinclair spectrum, just to show him the capabilities of the 64s sound. back then computer games were just beeps n blips till Rob
Hubbard came on the scene.
That music.. 😌🥰🎶
Couldn't even beat the first screen. Brilliant work!

this bring back memory's of being 5/6 oh they don't make em like this anymore..... the whole family try ed to finish it and thought it was impossible
I find myself hoping for the enemies to slow you down so I can hear more of the music to each stage ;)
It had some of the coolest music because Rob Hubbard composed it.
Simple? by todays standers then yes, but back in the 80's the Sid chip was truly advanced and ahead of it's time.
Chapter 1 is the best Music score ever…

Didnt understand it then…
Do now.
But never the less, it IS a really great score.
That goddamn Tyradactyl stealing your lives, this was the hardest game ever.
Yes, good music and also a maddeningly difficult game.
I love chapter 3 music ! I really want someone to play it on guitar somedays !
An absolutely mega cool game.
I never finish this game back in the days!
Great playthrough, even if I'm 10 years late! This game terrified me more than anything else as a kid. I wanted to play it to completion, but the face of "Fate" speaking to you after you failed always gave me a cold chill.
Thats crazy!!! I only saw level 2 once!
16 years ago this video was made
The Human Race had some of the coolest music.
lol looking at this video, im not actually sure i ever got off the first stage! it was a very difficult game, loved the music though.

@vicemanFIN
This music was used again for 'Goldrunner' on Atari ST.
Welcome to Goldrunner
Damn, thats a good game
Yes indeed, it's the same music in the game Goldrunner. :)

I only ever got as far as Chapter 4. I couldn't work out the strategy on that level to save my life, so I never finished.
i had this game...played for years, could never get passed 3rd level, wanted to put my fist through the screen bunches of times...
@vicemanFIN
Yes that music is genious!
3:53
chapter 4 tune has been heard in many covers
Such a shame the best music is on a stage pretty much nobody would ever reach.
Unbelievable skill. People who haven't played this can't understand how difficult it is, disgustingly hard. I could make it to the level with the crab/spider thing, but didn't understand the stupid "no-go" meter...it is *not* as simple as it looks, I still don't get it.

It seems i missed out on something really awesome.
i could never get past the first level...
I can't get off the bottom of the first level!! Way too hard
I could make it to the 2nd level, but i'd always get wasted. Never made it past that. Thanks for these vids!
This game was solid. Made the nerves go. Fantastic.
on c64 the first level is the hardest
agreed, i'm pretty sure i completed it back in the day. once i'd beaten level 1.
god this game was hard had me kicking the c64 back then
come on man - it was that annoying!
