Hello there Adam, I am enjoying your tutorials immensely, it is all rather slow for me because of my advanced age, but it is really fun. You are a fantastic teacher. Would you continue with Elton's "Your Song" so we could learn the entire piece to the end. Thank you so much for your generosity giving out these valuable lessons!!! Kind wishes, Joan.😻
Hi Adam Loved the lesson as I knew I would. Thank you for another excellent tutorial. The piece you were intimating at in 6.04 of the video is La March Funebre par Chopin Or opus 35 Funeral march in B flat and C minors respectively. Written by Chopin to show solidarity and support with his fellow Poles in their uprising against the Russians. I am so excited about this channel and I have seen a lot but you really have something here. There is a sense of accessibility, clear explanation and a teaching style that is esoteric across all age and experience groups It's as though, you know exactly what I want to learn and haven't been able to due to lack of confidence to step outside of sheet music. I am a fan and hope to be part of this growing community for many years. You mentioned social media platforms. Apologies but I only have you here on UA-cam. Which others are you on? I presume you were referring to Community Groups on Facebook, X, Insta etc. Congratulations on the 10,000 subscriber mark but know you've smashed that one out of the park already. Had a Merch idea for you also. Why don't you get Keys Coach T-Shirts etc, and have your catchphrase emblazoned across the keys! 'Do You See That?' Or 'I Like It!' I think they would sell lol! Already spread the word about your channel Adam and fellow piano amateurs will flock to it, I know. Really am enjoying your content Adam. You're an excellent musician but even greater teacher. Thank you.
Ah thanks so much Scarlette! Great ideas!! 💡 We’re also on Instagram (@thekeyscoach) - that’s the main platform outside UA-cam. Thank you so much for all the support! 🙏
Me too, I’m taking the bits I learn from your videos to put together my own music. Useful bits I leaned are boxing in the triad and changing up the arpeggios.
Hi Adam, Fantastic video, nobody else on the internet will divulge all this information - certainly not for free. Very informative and very well done, I am now one of your disciples. Thank you SO much!!!! Kind wishes, Joan Johnstone-Wells.
Super lesson! The Bb in the key of C makes it really interesting. And thank you very much for explaining so clearly the "boxed-in chords"! Can't wait trying it out . 🙂 I discovered your videos only a few weeks ago and I enjoy them! Another positive aspect: you pronounce very clearly so that I can understand everything😀 Thank you very much from Germany!
Love your tutorials! Clear explanation! I am not too familiar with the chords and inversions. Watching you demonstrate at a slower speed help a lot! Thank you! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Adam, I have been watching your videos the whole day today and my jaw is still on the floor😮. Thanks a million times, you are a genius and true blessing to us aspirant piano players🙏🏼
Like it a lot ! Thanks! Also liked whatyou did as your improvisation at the end. Could you make a video to that part too? Its amazing. Would like to learn chords playing like that!
Thank you Adam for your videos. I've always loved Elton John so this video got me straight away. I discovered your channel while I was on holidays last week. I'm a late in life piano learner and would love to play like you - hopefully there's enough time left for me! 😂
Adam, thank you so much for your time and effort making these great videos. You really help me, as a self-learner a lot! I introduced your channel to my friends too. Will you sometimes do live playing and teaching, so that we can have instant response and interaction?😄 Though we got different time zone between Hong Kong and UK . 😅
This is really good Adam, thank you. I've enjoyed Elton for years and this video combined with the other videos about chords has been tremendously helpful.
Congrats Adam I can only see your channel going from strength to strength 😊 another great tutorial with great free pdf too , thank you so much for your generosity . Regards Patricia 👏👏😀
I like this lesson so much! And throughout your lessons, the use of different keys is so useful to get to practice new sounds. Unfortunately, dew to an accident, I can't stretch my right hand pinky to reach an octave ( such as happens in this lesson ) so I don't know if I'll be able to get that sound when playing the block chords of progression... Is there any way in which this lesson can be adapted so I may play it? Thanks a lot and expecting your next video lesson 😊
Hi Adam, GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT INFO... BUT, TOO MANY COMMERCIALS..... LMAO.... Also, at Time Stamp 9:45, the audio starts to go out of sync with the video. At time stamp 10:10, it actually gets worse. Thx ElectricEddie
FY: It is easier on my 27-inch desktop. But I have a small laptop by my piano and it's rather difficult to follow your finger movement while the keys stay solid orange. Thanks for looking into this. Would be very helpful. ❤
Very Nice and Thank You! Question. Is it just my internet speed connection, or is the Super Impose showing above the keys slow? When you play G, it's still on the C chord. Also unable to even see the Arpeggios.
@@thekeyscoach I'm gonna become a good keyboard player yet😂😂😂😂 I have an uncle whom played with all the greats🎹 Kim Waters, Ray Parker Jr., Otis Williams, and so many more I can't name them all👍❤️
Hey Kim! Would love to! Huge fan of Elton’s live shows. Hope you enjoyed the video! I have a podcast (The Keys Coach Podcast) - would love to have you on!
But it's obvious you are trying to copy Elton John. Yes, you changed the chord progression, but having a Bb chord follow a G chord in the key of C is also the kind of thing that Elton John does.
@@nickmorley1159 Yes of course. That is a good way to practice the technique but if he were to for example record and publish the song it would be a ripoff of Elton John.
around 6:45 you ask what that motif comes from - I would say: Chopin, 1st piano sonata 2nd movement, marcia funebre
Ah that’s it! Thanks!
the song you came up with reminds me of Dragon - Are you old anough.
Great intro, my personal favorite piano intro ever is Landed by Ben Folds.
Yes! Adam, please look at Ben's style
Great idea!
At 6:40 in the video, I *think* the piece you started playing (but couldn't remember ) might be Chopin's "Funeral March".
Ah! Sounds about right!! Thanks!
