I had a complete placenta previa in my last pregnancy with my third baby. It was completely moved by 34 weeks! Had a beautiful natural birth at a birth center. Don't be afraid💕 God's got this!
This is so beautiful to here! Any chance you have some resources you could share? I'm a newborn nanny wanting to learn more about all things birth and doula world, especially physiologically.
My mom had complete placenta previa with me and had a c-section scheduled. She went in for an ultrasound at 38 weeks and the placenta had completely moved! They canceled the c-section and she was able to have a natural birth. Praying everyone stays healthy and the placenta resolves 💕
I just had a scheduled c-section three weeks ago (at 37 weeks) due to placenta previa. Like you, it was my first pregnancy. We hoped and prayed it would move, but unfortunately, the placenta didn’t budge at all throughout my pregnancy. Praying that your experience is different! However, if you do end up with a c-section, I hope yours goes as smoothly as mine did. I had no nausea or vomiting, no hemorrhaging, a healthy little boy, a wonderful care team at the hospital, and a swift recovery. It was not what I had originally envisioned, but it really was a positive experience! I was very fortunate to not have bleeding or any other complications during my pregnancy - no signs or symptoms that would alert me that something wasn’t right. I’m thankful that ultrasounds exist and are the standard of care, as I wouldn’t have known about the previa without it. I feel so uneasy about the growing trend of refusing ultrasounds in pregnancy, as that could have lead to a really devastating outcome for baby and me. Blessings to the three of you 🙏🏻
My mom in law had placenta previa with my husband and she was able to give birth to him naturally and this was in the late 80's! I believe God has it under control and will resolve it for you all. 🙏🏼
Congrats you two, seeing baby at that mid-point ultrasound is so special. ❤ I had an emergency c-section, which I really really didn't want. In the end, though, I realized the only way to look at it was positively, because if what had happened to me (I had a placenta abruption) did at pretty much any other point in human history other than the last 80 years, baby and I likely both wouldn't have made it. It's hard to be too upset about having a c-section when we have the amazing gift of modern medicine. All the best to you two, and definitely hoping the situation resolves so you can have the birth you're hoping for!
Good luck with it possibly moving! I was forced to have a cesarean with my first child, but I had an amazing midwife with my second, who specialized in VBACs and it ended up being a great natural birth! Even if it ends up being a planned cesarean, you can do this, you'll be amazing. It sucks, but at least it should be easier than the previous recovery. So much love to the three of you!
Hey Jordan! I’ve been following you since the early Blimey Cow days but usually don’t leave comments. I just wanted to say I’m so happy for you guys and I think you’ll be fantastic parents! Hoping everything goes smoothly from here on out and that Sara and baby are healthy & well! Wishing you all the best
I had a friend who had complete placenta previa. Her placenta moved out of the way at 36 weeks! She switched care from an OB to a group of midwives and had a natural birth in a birth center. Everyone was healthy and she had a great experience!
I have always been on the more natural side when it came to birth. So when I had my first daughter, I was excited to try to go the more natural route, and then we found out that she was breach. We did everything we could to get her to flip, but my sweet stubborn girl was not having any of it. So we had to have a C-section. Emotionally it was really hard to get past because I was so set on the natural birth. And it certainly wasn’t easy but man I am grateful that C-sections exist. That’s exactly what they’re for, is to get desirable results from an otherwise riskier situation. I would never say c-section is the more desirable route averagely, but when it’s necessary it truly is a gift. Just two years later I had a beautiful VBAC. C-section doesn’t have to limit your future birthing options. I hope that will bring you comfort if the situation should arise that you must have a cesarean.
So well said! It is emotional to hear you have to have a C-section when you really wanted to go the natural route! 😥 I'm pretty sure I bawled both times but at the same time accepted it. Having more time to process it may have helped. I also went on to have three VBACs, though I did have to push to make sure I had doctors supporting me in that. Many think once you have one C-section, you can only have them from then on, but that's not always true.
Way to advocate for yourselves!! As a birth worker, I'm so happy to see you doing your own research. Evidence Based Birth is a great resource for these types of situations!
I had placenta previa with my first birth (also a boy), I hate telling my birth story to new parents, so I'll keep it brief. I was put on modified bedrest and pelvic rest, instead of getting better I was also told I have vasa previa. I ended up being almost the absolute worst-case scenario, but me and my son are fine now. I had a weird peace through the whole thing. God played a huge hand in my son's birth as well, I tried for weeks to be seen an OBGYN, or a midwife, anyone but kept running into problems. Finally, I found my doctor, she is a high-risk OBGYN, who leans heavily towards holistic and alternative medicine. She was there for my VBAC and is going to be there when I try again this August.
I was sad to have to go through 2 C-sections of my 5 births. You're right that the recovery is rough, but of course I'm thankful for my healthy babies. What a wonderful time we are in to allow us to get the help we need! But good for you to make all the plans for all the possibilities. You never know! Hoping the best for you all!
Praying this resolves and you will be able to have the birth you want! I had an emergency c-section with my first and, as Sara mentioned, that recovery isn’t a joke.
I had a C-section and I went through a long labor with no pain meds beforehand as well. Both ways of birth are definitely hardcore! Take care of yourselves and keep praying! 💙
Just to encourage you I had an unscheduled but not emergency c-section and it was very smooth and honestly comforting to me to know that no other complications would happen during birth for me or baby.
Congratulations on a expecting a boy! That’s what my firstborn was also! Sorry to hear about complications, but God is in control! Praying for you and your precious baby!
Congratulations! You guys are already such good parents! I'll be praying continually for the placenta to move out of the way, and for God to give you peace no matter what happens.
Ah boy, this happened to me my second pregnancy, it was a partial previs, but we had a csection. It went so smoothly, and I really am grateful for modern medicine in these cases. I pray everything goes well for you!
Thank you guys for sharing such a personal and emotional step of your journey as parents. You guys are already doing amazing, love how you’re educating yourselves and learning all you can. You’re going to make all the right decisions. So proud of you both! 🥹 I’ve watched for years and love you guys ❤️ I’ll be praying for you and baby!
Congratulations on having a baby. My first pregnancy had some complications also but now I have a happy healthy 1 year old. It can be hard when pregnancy doesn’t go the way you expect. Just stay close to God.
I dealt with that but mine wasn’t complete and it resolved. The good news is you get watched by high risk specialists who keep a very close eye on things. That helps with first time anxiety - knowing things are okay every step of the way. Sounds like God is watching out for you guys and helping you each step of the way. The antidote for fear is faith. You two lean on God like you know to do! Bless you and your baby! (I have a boy, too- mama it’s a special thing - you’ll love being a boy mom!) you’ll be okay. This two will just be part of the story that you tell him one day. ❤
Aw!! How exciting that your having a boy!💙😁 Congratulations! I will be praying that y'all will be able to have a home birth.🙏 The ultrasound pictures are so cute!💙
So many encouraging comments from sisters in Christ who have been through it too. Our Father will continue to build upon His track record of faithfulness towards you. Thank you so much for the update! Praying for you 💜
Praying for you. I had 7 natural births and one c-section. I was always worried about a c-section but can tell you it was not very painful and healing was quick.
Praying for you! You have a wonderful attitude through all of this and God knows exactly what you need and where you need to be. I've had homebirths, hospital births, and birth center births. I wish they were all at home but God knows and was there for all of them. He will lead and guide you through it all. I remember for one birth, my midwife wanted to bring a non-Christian hippy to my birth who was training to be a midwife in the hopes that I could witness to her. During birth! During such a vulnerable time in my life! I could see God doing that with the two of you, being used to be witness and example to others during your most vulnerable experience. Where you are weak, He is strong.
Something told me to look you guys up, because it seemed like you'd need some prayer, and here we are. Prayers happening now. Much Love to you both. Or, I should say, all three of you.
Can’t believe it 💖💖💖 I know the story is essentially to be continued, so I’m praying that however the Lord allows it to happen, that you are able to embrace the moment and enjoy His goodness in it. ❤️🩹
I can relate to your original plan and wishes so much. But ill say when it comes to your child when theres any need for medical intervention especially potentially life saving. Its a whole perspective shift. Medical advancement are a gift and a miracle for so many. I do hope this resolves and you can have the experience you dreamed of. So many unexpected lessons will be learned as first time parents. So buckle up and enjoy the amazing journey you're just starting! And congrats ❤
I love your outlook on this, I really feel like your experience either way will be affected by your mindset about it. Keep the hope up for your natural birth and still consider the c section as a huge win because you get to have your healthy baby without any complications! 💕 Love you guys!
Oh, how these children make us plan for the best and then we have to change the plan. I hope everything goes well for you, it is so hard to have such a huge change in the vision you had for your birth.
Mom of four and I had a partial placenta previa with my last baby. I had to have a cesarean since I had had two before. That child is one of my strongest children. Everything will turn out just fine. Take heart. A lot can change towards the end of pregnancy.
Congrats! Praying that it resolves but if it doesn’t a c section isn’t the end of the world. I had a very unwanted c section for my first but then had 4 vbac home births since then and I’m planning on another one this August when baby #6 comes. God’s got this!
Long time subscriber, I usually don’t comment, but just wanted to drop a note - obviously respect everyone’s right to choose but in any situation with risk, being surrounded by medical professionals that can intervene (with your consent) can change a possibly tragic outcome . Our first pregnancy went to 40wks and ended with a placental abruption in the night and there was nothing we could do at home. Hoping and praying for protection over you all and a safe and healthy baby and mama
I tried natural births twice and both ended in c-sections. I went on to have 5 c-sections total. While it required a bit of extra help and planning, God blessed us so much. No matter how your babies arrive, He is with you, and everything will be OK.💕
As someone who has had four c sections out of necessity, I can reassure you that it's not the worst kind of procedure to go through... as far as hospital concerns I am sympathetic and understand your concerns... you still can advocate for as natural as you can do everything. After my first c section I didn't even take any pain medication besides Tylenol and not after the first couple days. You will get through this. And you may be able to vbac in the future, Lord willing.
Congrats ya'll! My baby is due in April, also a boy. I had to do 5 iron infusions due to Anti-E antibodies (has to do with RH factor) and the fact that I and baby were both considered anemic. After treatment at a high risk OB, my normal OB can no longer detect the antibody, so I know God is at work! Continuing to pray for all of you!
That thumbs up is so sweet 🥰 made me tear up a bit, I feel like the Lord did allow you to see that intentionally. So glad He is giving you peace, and I hope you are still able to have a natural birth!
Some encouragement for you guys: I wanted a home water birth when I was pregnant with my first, and she was breech. We tried to turn her and it didn’t work, so I had a cesarean. I felt broken and didn’t know if I’d have the big family I wanted because I thought I’d always have to have csections. I’ve gone on to have 5 more babies naturally, and one of them was even a home water birth! I’m pregnant with baby number 7 and looking forward to another natural birth. Even if you end up having a cesarean, the next time you may get to go naturally. Your body isn’t broken! The ICAN group on Facebook is wonderful and so supportive.
I’m happy the baby is healthy! Whatever route he ends up taking to get here I pray that mom and baby will be healthy and safe. My mom had a c-section with me because I liked it in there too much and was too big for natural birth haha
Even if you have to have a c-section you will do great. Plan for the worst and hope for the best is what I always say. I had to have 3 sections and recovery is longer but looking back it didn't get in the way of me loving and taking care of my babies after birth (and I have no use at all of my legs so if I had no problem I'm sure you will do great) Praying you are able to have the natural birth experience but also praying that if that doesn't happen you will have a calm c section and speedy recovery. Love and prayers from Missouri.
My first baby had her organs out of her body, so, for her sake, I had to have a c/s. I hope this advice is entirely unnecessary because the placenta moves, but a c/s is no big deal IF you get up and start taking steps pretty much right after you get moved to your room. For 3/4 of my c/s's, I was able to get up right away and recovery was a breeze. I honestly had to be told to take it easy despite only taking motrin for about 8 days (and only because I was told it helps the uterus not swell up post-surgery and cause issues next pregnancy). With my 3rd one, born April of 2020 for context, I wasn't allowed to leave the room and no nurses helped to get me moving and that c/s was awful. A month later, I was still on pain meds and thought I'd never recover. Early walking is the key to c/s's being "no big deal" as it were. I hope you don't need that advice, but, since it seems counterintuitive to recovering after surgery, I wanted to share it just in case. Congrats on the baby boy!
It was great to hear you mention God. It is amazing, these little blessings He gifts to us. Precious babies! ❤ I’m so excited about your baby boy. I am glad you had a 20 week ultrasound. They can be both exciting and comforting. I am sorry you didn’t get the best news, but what a blessing that you can plan more concretely for the what ifs. I do hope things will resolve for you, but it’s also okay to grieve your original plan probably not happening. Yes, a healthy baby and mama is the ultimate goal, and of course that’s most important, but two things can be true at once. You can be thankful for a healthy baby and be sad you didn’t get the birth you desired. Praying that the remainder of your pregnancy is healthy and wonderful. Can’t wait to “meet” Baby Boy Taylor!
I had no idea frequent ultrasounds were linked with poor health outcomes. When I was pregnant they called us in every month for an ultrasound and encouraged us to drop for additional ultrasounds in whenever we wanted to see how the baby was doing. (Ultrasounds were free) Now thinking of having a second child, I know better what to expect from pregnancy, and don’t see the point of all the extra trips to the clinic. I would like to see some documentation of what they think causes the negative side effects.
I planned for a natural birth my first one and it ended with a csection because of baby's size and position. We made that decision before it became an emergency, and my surgeon did such a good job and my recovery was so good all things considered. I have had 3 natural births since then (2 at the birth center) and planning for a home birth for my 5th baby currently. I've been on the fence about 20 week ultrasound this time and I am leaning toward getting one, especially after your story. Praying that God gives you peace regardless of the outcome, and that the birth and recovery process will be without complications.
Sara and Jordan, I'm praying hard for you guys and baby boy!! God will do it. Remember Sarah from Hebrews 11:11. You may also find these verses encouraging: Mark 9:19-27 & 11:20-26 and Matthew 9:27-30.
Sarah and Jordan, I highly recommend the book, Mindful Birthing, by Nancy Bardacke, the audio book is also available. It’s amazing in mentally preparing you for every birth situation mindfully. This book really helped me through my high risk pregnancy, and even though I didn’t get “everything I pictured” I did end up having a water birth in a hospital with a midwife and the best nurse, she was great and the staff was great at listening to me etc. This book is amazing for life anyway but really focuses on mindfully handling whatever your body does and no matter what it can be a successful birth, and pregnancy.
Being around birthing moms snd lots of friends who had kids and hearing so many birth stories, I learned that c-sections are not a big deal a all and you should always be ready for it just in case. It's great to have your dream home birth, but even if it doesn't happen as you planned, it will still be ok and your baby will be great! I had the perfect position, I went beyond term by a few days and I was told I would have a perfect natural birth. Then out of no where my baby stopped moving and I went to get checked to have an emergency c-section, which saved my baby's life. I'm grateful and looking back, I was way too attached to my own plans and views of birth, which lead to a lot of disappointment and guilt... Don't do that.
My mom had 100% placenta previa with my older brother and had to go on bedrest. He had a gigantic growth spurt and all of a sudden she was at 0% placenta previa. He has continued to have huge growth spurts ever since xD
Just curious cause I just got married and started using nfp, but was nfp something you found helpful for the conditions you had to go through? Or more combersome to keep track of? And was the baby planned/expected? Thanks!
Hi guys! Congratulations on expecting! Really hoping you read this comment and derive benefit from it. I have studied nutrition for years and as I am sure you know, nutrition is a powerful thing. I know of women who had the placenta in the wrong place, and by taking certain vitamins and minerals, got the placenta to move up. So I just wanted to share with you what those are. Of course, if you choose to take these, do your research and make sure they are taken in appropriate amounts for pregnancy. They are Methylfolate, Choline, Vitamin C and Copper. Again, praying you read this and that it is helpful to you!
I’ve also studies nutrition for years and I’m actually certified! These are great tips but I wouldn’t recommend supplementing copper without testing. I actually tend to run copper toxic so it’s not something I should personally supplement with. I have taken methylfolate for years! Unfortunately with planta previa, it’s a myth that nutrition can help. It’s not a nutrition issue. The placenta itself is perfectly healthy, just in the wrong place! And the placenta doesn’t actually move itself at all. It’s attached to the uterus so the only way it can move is with the expansion of the uterus so it’s all about how and where it’s attached that dictates if it’s able to move or not. For example, if it’s attached to a non-moving part like the cervix, it can’t move.
It is so hard to be planning a home birth and then have to pivot to the hospital. My sister had to do that back in December. I’ll be praying the placenta moves up and you guys can end up having a home birth.
Firstly, congrats on having a boy! Second, I can understand not want and early transvaginal ultrasound, but I am curious as to your initial preference of having as few ultrasounds as possible and to not wanting to birth at a hospital. No judgement at all; I’m just curious.
Interesting anecdote - In the 1600s and 1700s there was a Dutch midwife who attended 10 cases of placenta previa during her career and I believe only had two losses. Obviously C-section is the much safer option now, but it’s remarkable that she was able to save most of her patients, without modern medicine, prenatal diagnosis of the condition, or a very through understanding of human anatomy. I hope your previa resolves and you can have a vaginal birth! But it’s good that you seem to be at peace with whichever way it goes. 💜
I have had 3 kiddos. Each pregnancy has ups and downs some more serious than others. I have had 2 home births and 1 birth center birth and I have a huge fear of Drs. and hospitals. I struggle to not allow my fears to control my thoughts. My daily personal Bible reading and prayer along with the prayers of my fellow believers have made a HUGE difference in my internal level of peace. The Lord is very faithful to take care of us no matter what the outcome will be. I will be praying for you all to have peace and safety and Lord willing a homebirth.
Don't worry! The Lord is in control! Generally, birth plans do not go according to plan. The best birth, is when the mama and baby are safe and well!!! God can do beautiful things through a hospital birth, a C-section, and a home birth! As soon as you see that beautiful baby boy for the first time, nothing else will really matter. :) :) Congratulations!!!! So, so excited for you guys!
Interesting about the early miscarriages with ultrasounds. I had early ultrasounds with all three of my boys and they all came out without any issues. Congratulations on having a boy. Boys are such great fun!!! Warning you that this next paragraph is a bit sad: The placenta pereia issue. . .I know a few people who have had issues on placement of placentas. . most all of the people I have known who have had the issue were okay and had good births. I only know of one bad situation. I had a best friend who died after her seventh child was born because she had placenta pereia and then gave her an emergency hysterectomy (which really she shouldn't have done) and a few days later she died of heart failure from that craziness (which was 3 years ago come next month). Her placenta pereia was not an issue though. They fixed that right away, it was the fact that she JUST gave birth, then they performed that surgery, and then sent her home too quickly (in two days) without allowing her to heal better (or the fact that she was the type who didn't like to stay down so maybe also partly because she was a go-getter). The placenta CAN MOVE in the last twenty weeks. You have many people praying for you.
Sorry I'm posting so late tonight. Sara had a scare with the baby in the emergency room as I was about to post, but everything is ok with the two of them!

I had complete placenta previa with two of my four children at the midway ultrasound. Both times it moved by later in pregnancy.
Congratulations Jordan and Sara on your BABY BOY! I'll be keeping y'all in prayer. God bless!

I had the same. Frank breach, tried to turn, c-section, and vbac with my second.
This is truly encouraging! Thank you for sharing your story. VBAC or not, it is beautiful to hear more stories.

Good! Praise Yah! Have faith! I'm praying for Sarah and Jordan 🌷

Praying for all three of you! So happy for you! I had a boy first and he’s a joy 💙💙
Praying this resolves and you will be able to have the birth you want! I had an emergency c-section with my first and, as Sara mentioned, that recovery isn’t a joke.
The thumbs up is so adorable!!!
Praying for y’all!! So excited for you guys having a baby boy! 💙💙

Praying for you both!!! I can’t imagine anything more amazing and more terrifying than having a baby. So happy it’s a boy, how exciting! ❤
I’ve had 3 home births & always do the 20 week scan for exactly that reason. ❤ praying for yall!
Know that y'all are being prayed for! Congratulations!
Praying for you guys and that the placenta previa resolves!
Congratulations on your baby boy! What a blessing ♥️
Will be believing with you! So happy for you!! You look so proud and excited. 🥰
Congratulations on a expecting a boy! That’s what my firstborn was also! Sorry to hear about complications, but God is in control! Praying for you and your precious baby!
So excited for y'all!! I'll be praying that the placenta will move and for a safe birth for Sarah and baby!
Praying for you guys! Congratulations on the boy. God please bless this family, guide and direct them.
Praying with you guys! Congrats on the little guy! 🥳
Praying for you guys!🤍
Congratulations on having a baby. My first pregnancy had some complications also but now I have a happy healthy 1 year old. It can be hard when pregnancy doesn’t go the way you expect. Just stay close to God.
Congratulations on your baby boy! 💙 So very exciting!!! Praying for y'all

Congrats! Very happy 4 you!
Jordan might as well come out and say he’s a Helix salesman by now. All jokes much love to the Taylor family ❤️
WHAT AN AD TRANSITION ... 👏
Prayers for a healthy home birth and it be resolved! 🙏💖🙏💝🙏
Aw!! How exciting that your having a boy!💙😁 Congratulations! I will be praying that y'all will be able to have a home birth.🙏 The ultrasound pictures are so cute!💙
Keeping you guys in my prayers! Love you both and appreciate you sharing your story with us.
So many encouraging comments from sisters in Christ who have been through it too. Our Father will continue to build upon His track record of faithfulness towards you. Thank you so much for the update! Praying for you 💜
Praying for you all. Love you guys!
I pray that everything will go well! Boys are so lovely! ❤❤
Can’t believe it 💖💖💖
I know the story is essentially to be continued, so I’m praying that however the Lord allows it to happen, that you are able to embrace the moment and enjoy His goodness in it.
Love you guys!
Praying for Sara and the baby during this pregnancy ❤
The thumbs up! Adorable! He's having a good time. 😊
Much love to you both, from an older mom. God bless!
Praying for you all. God's got this! 😁❤
That thumbs up is so sweet 🥰 made me tear up a bit, I feel like the Lord did allow you to see that intentionally. So glad He is giving you peace, and I hope you are still able to have a natural birth!
Aww, yay, and he will have your brother,s boy cousins to play with!
the important thing is that you take care of both.
Congratulations 😊
Boy (I guessed before you announced it!) 🎉🥰
Praise God! Glad y'all are well, considering the circumstances🙏 And how fun will it be for him to have boy cousins around his age!😄💙
Glad everything is ok! Also, slightly proud I stuck with thinking it was a boy ☺️
I feel like this whole story is pointing to the goodness of God.
(Ultrasounds were free)
Now thinking of having a second child, I know better what to expect from pregnancy, and don’t see the point of all the extra trips to the clinic.
Sara and Jordan,
I'm praying hard for you guys and baby boy!! God will do it. Remember Sarah from Hebrews 11:11. You may also find these verses encouraging:
Mark 9:19-27 & 11:20-26 and Matthew 9:27-30.
Congrats, Jordan. Wish you all the best!!!
I had previa, fortunately it did move up
Congratulations. May the Lord bless you three souls with health and joy. 🙏
There's always someone that ruins the surprise at the top of the comments. Congrats on Baby thooooo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just curious cause I just got married and started using nfp, but was nfp something you found helpful for the conditions you had to go through? Or more combersome to keep track of? And was the baby planned/expected? Thanks!
I think all girls should start tracking/NFP by 15! NFP is for WAY more than just planning pregnancy! It’s a way to track your health.
First congrats on baby boy as comments on this video! (Sorry for the spoiler)
I hope it resolves!! My homebirths have been so wonderful!
Prayers everything resolves for the homebirth! You all are going to be wonderful parents. ❤
