@@RoadcraftNottingham 1.8S Hatchback Carmine Red, 1-8-85. C352 MRB where are you now? Sold it to a heavy metal fan in Stafford. Oh happy days, don't worry have calmed down a lot now with age!
Hi Russ, we wanted our bikes with us when camping with our van conversion camper and eventually plumped for a moto lug double trailer which takes my street twin and hubbies tiger. It’s been a revelation, easy to tow, reasonably easy to load and unload (now we have the nack !) and have taken them to the alps, gorges du verdon, lakes, Scotland etc I wouldn’t be without our bikes now when camping, it makes the trip perfect. We do get a few odd looks on campsites in this country but in Europe we blend in a treat 🤗. Nice review!
I stayed at that caravan site many years ago. Not much of a view, but the owls in the cliffs were a hoot :) I'm fitting out a Movano panel van as a campervan that will also carry my V- Strom 1000 inside. Getting that bike up the ramps isn't easy, so I'm thinking of buying a Honda SH300i, a lightweight, big-wheeled scooter that performs almost as well as my old 600cc Honda Silverwing. scooter.
Nice Russ - I still often miss our little 125 - a Kymco. size doesn't matter, one just rides whatever bike in whatever way it works and one always has a big grin. I need a vehicle I can put the 500X in, so I can stop wearing out tyres doing thousands of K's to get to good trails :)
I wouldn't mind a 250/300cc Grom. I just can't stand how slow 125s are. Going uphill with a headwind you'll be lucky to get 40mph which just isn't safe for country roads.
I had a 2013 grom, loved it but the seat (even though I modifyed it) was just too uncomfortable. Have you seen the 2021 grom? Looks like they may have sorted all those problems 👍and will have a 5th gear so hopfully that will make a difference although not sure if the little thing will have the power to deal with the torque needed in 5th......we will see. Nice bike though mate 👍🍻
Love Derbyshire - as well as just being lovely (and with great cafes) there's fantastic limestone & gritstone rock climbing. A Grom would be fun for round town but Edinburgh is small enough to walk round - cycle or bus if in a hurry - so it would be overkill. But what about that camera - how does that work??! Awesome. PS I admire your courage in admitting to having a motorhome... :-)
Looks a fun little bike but don't think it will pull with me on very well. Nice ride over the Cat and Fiddle, Goyt valley and even Winnatts Pass. A good review enjoyed watching.
Glad my GSX 400E doesn't have a signal cancel button ;P It is one of those levers you push back into the middle. Like it a lot more. The only downside is that you can overshoot it when your hands are too cold. Though that is also a good indicator that you shouldn't ride with those hands.
You do have some nice toys! Wouldn't something like a DT175 have fitted? Listed at 99Kg....Now that really would have been different, and you could have done some lanes. Nice 360 footage.
Lovely bike, I was going to buy this over my gsx r125 but I did look ridiculous on it when I test rode it. No such thing as a big 125 unfortunately. Might get one eventually for the amusement factor.
Beeping indicator switch! 🤣 What the beep were Honda thinking? Every time I ride a Honda I do exactly the same. Other than BMW (who love to be different, though they've now conformed) we all know how the horn and indicator layout should be.
@@paullee6663 Not that I know of. Drives loads of people crazy. I'm sure if you owned one and rode it regularly you'd adjust, but jumping from bike to bike, it's a right pain.
That looks a really good little bike for pottering about on for short runs and a very nice stand out colour to boot .Maybe you could put some knobblies on and do some gentle lanes too.
@@RoadcraftNottingham I did actually consider one when I was looking for my first bike. Everyone I know that’s been on one says they are such a laugh to ride.
more impressed with bike transporter .. cool ... where in Derbyshire is that Russ ? ..

Them camera angles were bob on buddy 👍
How is it mounted? What’s the sound quality like, does it suffer with wind noise?
I mute the sound as it's awful when moving. It's on the end of a selfie pole which I'm sat on.
@@RoadcraftNottingham an invisible selfie stick?! That's some sweet editing if so!

@ Mike Roberts have they ever given a reason for swopping it around? They had it the other way around for many years?

Double comment time...what brand of heatproof paint did you use on your piston? I'm looking to do the same.
Thanks again
It's pj1 satin heatproof. Not easy to get in satin but excellent quality

Don't bother. Get the benelli tnt 125,
Way cheaper, faster, and look much better. Plus 6 speed box
