When fishing with a leader barrel swivel and egg sinker what pound test do you use for a top shot of mono on your conventional reel

The 10-ounce gold hammered diamond jig (Goldilocks) is a classic. Are they sold cheap anymore? I'm having a difficult time finding one that's reasonably priced. 16$ each is 4X what I paid 8-10 years ago.

What braid line and leader should I use to dead bait fishing +100 lb gulf grouper? Usually they eat a few feet from the bottom and there is a lot of structure (rock, caves) so they will break you in a few seconds if you do not stop them. Thanks for the info btw!

What brand swivel sleeves do you use with your 150 X Hard?

What is the best approach? I see that some people use Mono for dolphin fishing (trolling and close to boat casting) and others use Braided line. It my understanding that with Braided, and no top shot we would risk breaking the line... Would love some advise on the best way to approach...

How far back do you have to put those big lures at five knots to get down to 30 ft

Thank you for watching. Truthfully I dont measure I just go by feel and experience and it also matters if youre fishing mono or ultra thin braid but my estimate is 70+ ft. Love the show and the seminars been watching for many years. As I just bought a new spinning reel and found the braid I have been using failed miserably, I decided to give the Diamond Braid 30 lb line a try. After watching so many of your shows and catches I can not tell how surprised, and disappointed I was, when the 30 lb test line kept breaking trying to lift under 22 lbs of weight. I have no idea if you have ever tested actual breaking strength of the line, but I would think 30 lb line should be able to handle at least 30 lbs of weight or pulling. I really did expect to be happy with my choice and it did not turn out that way.

Only 3 choices: Shimano Grappler, Shimano Ocea or Nomad Tufflock. Use any of those 3 braids and you’ll never go back
