Maxis match keeps me alive because
A: my computer won't burst into flames at the poly count, and
B: it matches the style of the game
In my opinion I don't like maxis match, it's too clay like

For maxis match cc I also recommend okruee, nolansims, ridgeport, kumikya, jellymoo, simkoos, sentate, oakiyo, trillyke, nesurii, lamatisse, joliebean, sforzcc, arethabee, Aladdin the simmer, ceeproductions, sleepingsims, Johnnysimmer and casteru!

Doing a cc purge can be so satisfying, but i also have anxiety about never finding something again so ill make another folder and repeat for several years and then just realize i have a ts4cc 'backup' folder with a scary amount of folders that have even more folders and it never ends,,
The Curseforge app lets you see what you have and delete it from there. Sims Studio is great too for isolating broken cc.
I just started downloading CC and I am still an amateur at it 😂 so I never am able to remember my old CC I had. I just say oh well 🥲 maybe I’ll see it one day
@@ColorOfCozy I have so many bald Sims going around from when I deleted all my alpha hairs. I usually use the makeover chair to fix them but it is really painful when you have to filter down your cc.
There is a good backcatalogue of CC that has evaporated by creators leaving and taking their stuff with them. So I too do not delete.
Instead, I create what I like to call the "CAS CC MALL".
This is all the CAS CC that is not currently in use in my save. If I want to go through and give a sim new stuff, I through the CAS CC MALL into my mods folder, makeover the sim, use better exceptions for the CC finder tool, put all of that chosen CC into my normal CC folder in my mods, then take the CAS CC MALL folder back out of my game and place it back into a folder reserved for resting mods.
This not only makes it so I never lose old good CC, but it makes my game run/load so much faster since it isnt groaning under the weight of a lot of CC not even being used during a game but is forced to load anyways if it was in my mod folder.

Sasha, you need Clumsy Alien in your game. Their CC is amazing! I used to love alpha but recently I started turning my alpha Sims into MM Sims but keeping through to their essence with MM CC.

@@onyxlindsey I love Okruee too. Such great CC. I think I found most of these creators from a site that lists the best cc. Clumsy Alien I learned about from Mollie/English Simmer.

Clumsy Alien makes the best MM CC in my opinion. It’s so cute and I can’t live without their cc in my game.
they quite literally saved my game, my computer was crashing from the alpha and I have never had any crashes with maxis match even with the 700+ cc I have :)

I always found alpha to just take me out of the game. Since the style is such a huge departure from the sims 4 art style. It doesnt look bad, it just never felt like it belonged imo. MM cc creators really do amazing work to create beautiful cc that seamleasly fit into the game.

I used to do a lot of alpha cc, until one day i just got tired of trying to match alpha cc... because everyone does it so differently. I switched to maxis match and haven't looked back. it certainly made my townies look a lot better when they randomly generated - because even if they sometimes dress crazy, at least they have a similar style to them (before I inevitably give them makeovers).
Damn.. I didn't even think of that. Haha yeah, I use alpha and a lot of the randomly generated sims are, um, interesting looking to put it lightly. I sometimes edit them in CAS to put normal outfits on them lol. It must be more harmonious with maxis match
hearing her talk about having 100+ hair ccs and mentioning worries over the game opening like i don't have over 700+ hair cc alone, let alone even more for kids is amazing. i was like "woah, that is a lot! the game might not load. oh wait-"

me rn because even though i’m maxis match my storage is pretty filled, I still use the laptop for school too but school takes up zero space because we don’t rlly download stuff for work. I have about 13.7gb on my laptop rn.
I only use my laptop for sims and i think i have 4000+ cc (mostly mm). It takes my game 30 minutes to open 😅
I could never get into Alpha CC since while nice in a vacuum it clashes hard with the rest of the game, I look at photos of Alpha sims and think "Is this a screenshot from second life?"
@hatzistu Never played that game but I think it also falls under it. I have had times when I click on what I think is alpha CC clothing off google images and it takes me to the second life store though
I’m screaming because that SimsTrouble curly half up half down hairstyle is my favorite too. Whenever I want to make a sim who I decide is the prettiest girl in SimsVille, I give her that hair lol
One of their hairs I found from an older video and I went DEEP to find it but it's my absolute favorite hair it's so beautiful 🥹
I actually organize my mods folder by creator, it makes it easier to find and remove any cc I don't use. I will say I agree with you on simstrouble having amazing curly hair!

Dude, I literally did the same exact thing a few days ago! I only had alpha cc and I hated maxis match but then recently, I’ve been into maxis match more so I deleted all my alpha cc and got all maxis match stuff lol. I sometimes regret it until I look at how cute my sims come out with alpha😂
I too recently switched to Maxis Match and it was the best idea I’ve had in a long time. The hame runs so much smoother.
Tbh maxis match hair and alpha hair are both REALLY good. And for like 2 weeks I was hesitating between the 2 but I ended up taking alpha because the choices of colors in maxis hair is always the same and it's very limited for what I want to do. But I did keep the maxis hair in another folder on my computer, just in case I want to switch again or am able find a way to get way more hair color options that actually works
i feel like maxis match hairs fit in better!! like with base game sims and stuff it just makes ur sims blend in with the game better

The best part about maxis match is that it’s lower in polys which means you can have more of it with less lag 😈

totally agree maxis match is looking better these days for sure I want those carebear jeans for my teen (she's a Simfluencer in my game), the hairs look so cute, i am worried if i download them before the patch or EP that it will not work cos I'm not very technical when it comes to CC so I am downloading all these and then when i have the new EP eventaully i can install all that Maxis match CC 😊

Some sims hairs I really like are from a creator called The kunstwollen. They have a ton of pretty high quality male hairs
That’s the reason why I have every piece of CC paired with a picture of it. Hell of a work. But when the old stuff was organized that way (putting a few things in the game, screenshot of every item, putting the next few in and moving the first ones out and so on), I loved it immediately and I've always done it this way ever since. I know exactly which package.file is which thing in the game. 😊
For clothes and hair I highly recommend clumsy alien! I love everything from their collection

maxis match has definitely come a long way these past couple of years, glad i made the switch!
You can move the clothes to another folder on an external hard drive so it doesn't cause your game to lag. At my peak, I would sometimes go back to the sites, check the names, make a list and then erase or keep things depending on my goal.

One time my game was broken and I had to delete all of my cc, I now only use maxis match now (having few exeptions), I think it looks better.

Get a cc organiser thing application. It works perfect and you can see what you delete and sometimes just deactivate it instead of deleting it
I do strictly maxis match hair, and mix clothing. Especially shoes, I am a sucker for certain alpha shoes.

I switched to Maxis match cc like maybe half a year ago, and I'm so glad I did that! I normally use a mix of cc and in-game stuff, and with Alpha cc it's not really possible to do that
I've spent the last two weeks going through EVERY SINGLE ONE of my 35,000 cc items by using Sims 4 Studio, simply because I want to try out Maxis Match but feel like I can't do that before I've organized and deleted things I don't want or use. I'm currently down to 3,700 files and I am SO done with I just want to play but alas I cannot because I started this journey and I need to finish it

As an ex alpha cc downloader, I'd say maxis cc works a lot better for my pc and less laggy in-game. I also love how cute it is because sometimes alpha cc would scare me Lol
you should check out aretha their cc is so good!they have hairs, shoes, clothes, and accessories!
I can't remember were I downloaded it but there's also more swatches that you can download for the packs hairs. And some creators include more colors in their CC.
I used to love alpha when I played a couple years ago, started playing again and decided maybe I'd try mm and it just fits the game so well. Never going back
I'm doing the same thing. I've been downloading a little at a time the last few days 😂 I'm addicted to CC.
Weird timing. Last week I went on a binge and DL'ed about 500 pieces of MM hairs.
The decision came after tirelessly looking for an alpha that mimiced the stock Yuki/Sofia hair from Windenburg, but to no avail. I found a great hair by a great creator that goes by "The Kunstwollen". (Be very careful and do not misread that, as that german phrase is easy to make it seem like a very NSFW thing in english) who make MM hair that is a great compromises between the strandy 3 dimensionality of alpha, and the opacity of Maxis. I love this hair and I feel it works well in a crowd of alpha or clay hairs alike. I hope more creators continue this trend, as it is the compromise that I think sims 4 hair really needed. It's nice not having my Kujiko eye lashes shine through my hairs now. If you do alpha, you know what I mean.
