- Walk-around of my 1977 Mercedes-Benz 300D W123. My grandfather bought this car brand new in 1977 in Annapolis, MD. I sold the car in 2019 to a Mercedes-Benz collector where it will have a great life. VIRTUAL TEST DRIVE VIDEO OF THE CAR: • 1977 Mercedes-Benz 300...
My father owned a 240D from 1980 and my brothers and me grew up in this car. He worked as a taxi driver for 19 years and that car had the original gear box. I can say this is the best car ever 🙂

Best mercedes model ever made
Benz is the greatest ...greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲
👍The best Mercedes ever made
This car belongs in a museum.
My maternal uncle had this exact color (Maroon/Burgundy) with tan interior for his 300D.
My Dad has a Biscayne Blue 300D
Turbo Diesel still in mint condition, that was custom made and shipped from the factory in Germany 🇩🇪.
These are very durable and excellent collector cars.
This is by far the most beautiful car mercedes doesn't care about the quality of the materials anymore they are just focused on the motor
The best cars
The bestest colors ....
Very cheerful colors
The best era of time ....
The best music
The 70s
I have a 79 300D! Mine is white, it will out live me I'm sure. 41 years old and it's in better shape than a lot of newer cars!
Agreed! I have a 1977 300D. I maintain it myself and love it! Maple yellow w bamboo interior. A keeper!
I was driving in the 90s one 230 white and one 280 gold metallic. Such a sweet memory, thank you
Beautiful paint job, and that engine sounds sweet.
I wish you knew how I'm in love with old Mercedes. How I wish I had ways of buying this one😭😭😭
Love this car. My fav of all time. I owned an Ivory 300D. Now I own a sweet 1983 240D. Fun to work on and drive.
Look at the grace.. the beautiful sound of engine and door close.. no words..😊🇵🇰👍
Euro headlights, euro bumpers and this car is 101% perfect! ❤️
Best walk around video ever of Classic car,
On graduation I bought a new 1977 230 D. It was a bit sluggish but Loved it anyway. years later traded it for a 300D.
लाजवाब बहुत ही बेहतर गाड़ी है भारत में मिलती, 👌👌🥳
Masterpiece
Love the sound of this engine
Wonderful car. Great work on maintaining it. It really looks like it just came from the factory. Thank you for the video. I wish you happy motoring.
Merci Merci
Entendre ce beau moteur tourner, c'est du même ordre qu'un orchestre symphonique de haut niveau en pleine exécution.
Quant à la peinture rouge ,elle est sublime.
Encore mille merci.

Beautiful,Looks well built like a battle tank.
IT IS, a real TANK!!! Can you believe here in Europe are units of these W123 with OVER... 1.000.000 km? And... They are still running. RUNNING AGAINST THE WIND (Bob Segger's song) 😊
That is a beauty!
Very nice! I have 2 w124 diesles. Never had the privilege ro drive an awesome W123 like yours.
راهم عذا بقيين لك تبيعهم
Wonderful car !
That beauty is the real deal!!!
Man kind will never make something that Amazing again.
She is an anvil with tires...(I am refering to durability)
And she is so pretty...
W123=Legend.
@7:17 to 7:24. The killer of these cars is hiding in plain sight. Get that addressed my friend if you want to preserve this beauty of a classic. I have the last generation of this car that modernized as best as possible what it was while preserving that built to last to the end of time durability the W123 represented. The very last E class that the venerable Taxi Cab drivers of Germany did not have a problem with driving and trusting their livelihoods to when it debuted. That is the W124 300D. Mine is in about 80% the shape of this one, needing essentially a paint refresh (Existing paint is still good, just too many knicks from road debris), interior refresh (headliner sagging near rear window unlike newer cars where the whole thing comes off by the time you get to payoff of your loan; trans tunnel dash wood laminate is cracked, and driver seat left side bolster covering of MBTex is wearing out.) Engine had a bad head gasket partially hydrolocked Cylinder 1, bending a rod. Engine still ran even in that condition btw (low compression in Cyl 1) Had the engine in early stages of upgrading to a SuperTurbo Diesel with Dieselmeken 7.5MM IP, Bosio SD314 Nozzles on refreshed and calibrated injectors set at 150 bar pop pressure, marine grade electric lift pump set at 19 psi at the fuel tank, and a stock rebuilt T25 Garrett turbo. Car moved like a modern mid sized gas V6, or even a performance Chevy/Ford small blok V8 during the years the W123 300D you have was in production. Needless to say, my car was a pleasure to drive... finally able to run with modern traffic while still getting 35 mpg. Tranny hated it though, so once I decided to restore this car, the engine got a full rebuild, upgraded rods to the W210 E300 OM606 turbo engine's con rods, exchanged my 722.4 trans for the earlier 722.3, rebuilt and beefed up the clutches to 1990's S600 specs, and upgraded the turbo to a more modern (relatively speaking) GT3071R Garrett, with special T25/T3 IWG exhaust housing (Asian market Nissan Skyline turbo) . Also added a water/air intercooler, dumped the mechanical fan for an electric puller fan from an AMG SLK32, upgraded the radiator to a W124 E420/500 unit, and of course the alternator was also upgraded to an E420 120 amp unit. Gauge cluster has been updated to plasma dial back lighting (lighting bezzles were warped and clouded, making the front lighting more untenable) , and all my warning lights were changed to L.E.D for brightness and longevity. Needless to say, this is all costing a small fortune. Upwards of 20K. But for these cars, that kind of investment is worth it. For that kind of money, you can pretty much take care of everything time has worn down, and drive the car another 20+ years and it will serve dutifully well. That's what I plan to do with mine God willing. Better spent money there than some modern computer on wheels that I won't be able to work on... and looks just like every other car on the road. W124 was the last gasp of the venerable E class of old, trying to maintain a comfortable blend of old dog doing newer tricks. W210 began the fall sadly. W140 S class was the last of the great old Benzes designed by engineers who loved their work with a passion, costs be damned. And their longevity showed it....
Absolutely beautiful
What a beauty. Burgundy with palomino interior is my favorite color combination in W 123's
This is the best ever never died is stay legend...😌😌😌😌
Great colour and paint work
Love this engine sound
Very beautifull! I owner 1977 w123 too, 280 100% originnal condition. Only 109tkm. Yellow. Best Regards from Finland.
Stunning car...I had a 84 non turbo 300D. Best car ever made.
Actually our cars had gasoline engine, not diesel
That is one extremely nice car!
Dragos Burian I wouldn’t even sell it there’s no other human trustworthy enough to keep it in that good of shape
Gorgeous old Merc I approve
I presently have a 300D 1977 with the same red color. Such a pretty pretty automobile. My car has the black seats and interior.
i had a 76 240d, that was an incredible car
My father and my uncle had this! One was black the other in ‚Elfenbeinweiß‘. It was back in 1990. I can smell it now! 😍😍😍. As an 5 year old kid I always sat between the two seats on the drive shaft and imitated how my father steers with the steering wheel.
I learned how to drive on this exact car, color and everything, except my dad's had a sunroof. That thing was indestructible.
David HB These things can get you through the apocalypse as long as you take care of basic maintenance. Lol.
Was the steering wheel like very strong
David HB me to,was my first car. You are right is idestructible like a fucking russian tank.
Merc 123 Serials are world accepted Automobiles.......

Шикарный 123-й, а комплектация просто супер для этого мерседеса!!!
Да. Шикарный.
Piękny i ten czerwony lakier SUPERRO!!!
Wow, just wow!!
very nice car. take care of it
Beautiful car a limo from another season
So beautiful.
Cleanest I've seen. Wow!
Beautiful car. I thought the 300Ds had all metal wheels, not color matching hub caps. I have a '77 280E, gasoline, and an '83 240D, diesel, and both have the color matching hub caps. Both are excellent cars with original paint and no rust.
the colour is beautiful.
Das de best auto die Mercedes heeft ooit gemaakt 😉zo zegen toch. Auto van meer dan1000000klm
Holy music to my ears!!
Love you and your family 💕 mercedes Benz
very nice car
Such a beautiful classic. I hav3 had a few of these but none this nice of course. Do you mind sharing if u sold the car and how much? Thx. Neat video.
NICE ONE
In the 70s and beginning of 80s they were always used as Taxis here in Germany. Very comfortable and reliable cars.
Until a few years ago they were still used as Taxis in 3rd world countries
Quit calling us 3rd World... were very living in houses before most of Europe or Americas.
Its the first edition of the w123. You can see it in the chromed air intakes between the hood and the windscreen wipers. The headrests are also those of the first version. But power windows? Were they built in afterwards?
Great 🚗
Bellissima!!!
Super
Красавец!👍👍👍
Vacuum Leak. Probably a cracked hose back by the vacuum reservoir tank, Beautiful Car. What are you looking to get for it? I bought a 83 off the showroom floor.
Nice historic tag
How much are you asking? Is it still for sale?
That sound when diesel burns
Красота 😍
Да,уж.
What a gem. Pity you had to part with it.
Bon Jovi in old Mersedes, beautiful!
Here's something I did for us these holidays! Stay safe every123! 👉🏼etsy.me/3lgkEcU
Very very good condition
Blaze of Glory!
Wow an absolute beauty! I have a question tho, did the car come with automatic window controller or did you get that installed??
Came with it.
Best car..EVERRRR
I am interested to know everything done in the care and everything should be done and the final price if you want to sail
Thank you so much
Wonderful! Mercedes Number One
(20 BMW driver don't like this video :D )
Such a clean w123... how much it worth it? In my country there are good deals on it.. Loved the car and the video
Don't ever get rid of this thing!
Sad to see how far Mercedes Benz has fallen in 40 years
You have right , but the WORLD IS FALLEN TOO 😭 ....!!!
Absolutely. From 2003-on Jaguar was making better cars than Mercedes and all the other German Luxury car makes. I've collected a silver 2004 XJ8 and love it. But I'm realizing how I'd also like to have a 200,000+ original miles W123 MB Diesel sedan in my collection as well, a W123 Diesel that HAS actually lived up to the car's reputation of actually running forever not breaking. One of those would be a real true gem. It's looking to me these days like I'm more likely to find that in an '84-5 300D Turbodiesel, which his perfectly okay. And I could maybe put it next to my gutsy Jag. lol
@@donben7622 Absolutely right, Don! What a World needs now, is LOVE, Sweet love... (Burt Bucharach's song).
WOOOOOOW
Beautiful car. Just curious--how much did you sell it for?
