OTB supporting skins is just a business investment. They are making huge profits off it. Best marketing you can do. Same reason Ledgestone uses St. Jude to sell discs. Nothing sells more than using "find a cure for cancer". Ledgestone store making so much $$$ while fans think it all goes to charity. Win win for Nate Heinold.
Props to GK for taking their time and releasing a great product despite the challenges of the event without giving away any spoilers the whole week. No Guts, No Glory moment was absolutely sick! Can't wait for next year!

James is so inspiring. He has such a good attitude and he’s so supportive of the other players.
And this is at his most frustrated. Still a better attitude than most people when they're having a good round.
Just don't make him angry....trust me.
Quite possibly the best edited round of discgolf. I really felt like I was walking the 18 holes together with Luke and Jerm and occasionally exchanging a few words with the players. Chill and exciting at the same time.
Best balance of high tension and relaxing scenery and conversation
GK we all know this started out as an inferno but you guys emerged from the smoldering embers with your capes flapping in the breeze. Thanks for rescuing this last round. You guys gained a lot of respect through this. I vowed never to pay for live disc golf for many reasons. But if you offer this up again as a PPV model just run it through your channel and take control over the whole thing. I’d pay for it then. Gained a lot of trust through this. Mad respect.

I was privileged enough to be there and to see Calvin's 2nd shot on #16, aka #2, it was nothing short of spectacular! It was a worm burning, needle threading, OB avoiding piece of art.

You know what I love -- I love how on the pivotal approach shot on the winning hole (I won't spoil it), you guys left in the build-up and quiet talk for the player deciding what shot to throw. It was JUST like hearing Scott Stokely talk himself into throwing that sick forehand upshot on 15 at the last big skins match at Eagles Crossing ... "you can DO this!" Interesting that both shots were forehands, too.
This was everything I had hoped it would be and more. What a fantastic event. Was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Kudos to the entire team.
whole different vibe when there's 50k on the line, but still super fun to watch. people were mad about the GK ppv but honestly I appreciate yall getting the post production out fast. those big holes leading up to Calvin's amazing forehand were possibly some of the best disc golf viewing I've ever experienced, with the tension and the beautiful, supremely challenging Eagles Crossing course. what an epic setting this place is, the fall foliage plus high variable winds.... just made this a classic. can't wait for the next one honestly

Hole 16 is up there with the best pieces of disc golf coverage I've seen: the colors, the shots, the tension, the decisions, the mic'd up players, the commentary (!!!). Brilliant.

Congrats to Calvin on the purse. That forehand was one of the craziest things I've seen in disc golf. Only been into it and following the sport for a month, but I've watched a ton of matches and seen some epic stuff so far.

This has been some great coverage. I like the camera tracking from the side of the players...instead of only behind. Looked like a really great day out there after the wind died down.
I think Thomas Gilbert has been in the background of every disc golf video filmed in history 😂

I just want to say thank you. thank you for trying to do something amazing and different. when it failed, you rallied and not only salvaged the final round, but made a great final round. sucks that we didn't get to see all rounds, but I appreciate you and can't wait to see some more next year! I do think the live commentary as it happens is where it's at, post production is fine, don't ruin a good thing, just find ways to enhance it by adding players shot counts (kind of hard to keep track sometimes) or something like that. but overall thank you!

The start of this tournament may have been a catastrophe, but I'm glad they bought it back to classic skins with a spice of Jerm!

A quick response to everyone in the live chat:
Those baskets are B- at best. Go watch the first skins match, Eagle was spit out for an eagle on the fountain hole. For a "world class" course... you'd think it would have top of the line baskets. I've played on them, yes. They're very outdated compared to modern MVP's, Mach's, Discraft, and Discatchers. The inner chains aren't staggered or crossed to the outer so hyzer puts spit threw really easy or you can hit post and bounce back.
On the other hand - is it that bad if its more difficult to sink a putt from 40ft? They also look slightly smaller than tour baskets. Everybody's complaining about putting becoming too easy, and everybody had the same conditions here. Yes, the baskets denied some people some skins today, but I don't mind the extra precision that was needed. Best disc golfer with best nerves won anyway!
@hyzerponix I never said they were bad. I gave them a B-. They're just the low point on an otherwise world class course.
@hyzerponix We're in agreeance they're JUST fine, not great, just fine. The light chains compared to the new heavier galvanized that companies are switching to, as well as the lack of chains compared to others, are it's downfall. That's why i gave it a B-. They're just not as good as a couple other baskets.
Multiple pros had more than average spit outs and spit throughs, while some even vocalized their issues with them. The world's 'okayest' baskets at what is supposed to be a world class course is a weird look.

Jakub really was the biggest help for Calvin. He left so much money on the table. James was off to put it nicely. Paul did amazing considering his distance and circle two putting stats.
The whole experience watching Calvin be truly stumped was great to watch. 50k on the line a shot you never practice with a super windy day and out of bounds everywhere. You couldn't script more drama. Even the line "no guts, no glory" that's some Hollywood one liner if ever there was one. I wish there were more angles on his shot though because im sure it was so much more amazing from other perspectives. The people taking still photographs anyone know where those are posted?
