What is your favorite Emma Kok song? What about Andre Rieu? I also had to add a watermark over the video because it was partially blocked and I didn't want to exclude anyone on the reaction. I hate doing watermarks on videos, but I hate excluding people on videos more.

You should watch Emma's appearance at Voice Kids 2021, she was 11 years old. Her brother Enzo Kok is a huge violinist. He won Superkids in 2015. I don't want to write so much. Have fun. She is something special.

This was an epic performance by Emma, who, outside of the Netherlands, was pretty much unknown at the time. The performance took place in Maastricht on the Vrijthof Square almost a year ago to the day. If you think that was a great performance, you should see what she is doing now. You are a year behind my friend.
Her performances of Demi Lovato's 'Father', Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah', Barbara Pravi's 'Voila' in a beautiful duet with Helene Fischer, another duet with April Darby performing 'When You Believe' , and now her most recent performance in Maastricht on the Vrijthof with Andre Rieu, a song written by her friend and producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis called 'Dancing on the Stars', are all sensational performances that showcase Emma's extraordinary talent and ability.
This latter song, 'Dancing on the Stars' was released just 8 days ago and has gone viral with 2.3 million views. It is a masterful performance of sublime power and beauty. The official version is on UA-cam, and many are reacting to it.
Emma is a phenomenal vocalist and performer. Now at age 16, she is performing at the very highest level, and with a grace and poise unknown to artists much older than herself. She is on another level.
I urge you to check out and react to 'Dancing on the Stars'. When you do, you will understand everything I've said here.

I'll add it to the list. There was a bit of a copyright restriction for this video, yes. It was partially blocked. I'd rather the video be completely viewable and demonetized than for this to happen, but I did my best
Thanks Ace! Emma chooses songs that she has a connection with. Her condition requires her to be connected to two small pumps 22 hours a day, one tube goes to her stomach and the other to her intestine. Her condition also affects her growth rate, she is much more petite than other 15 year-olds. When she was younger she could not carry the pumps around in school so she used a child-sized walker to hold them. Other children teased her, calling her "gnome" and "grandma". She still gets teased, I believe she stopped going to public school.
FYI - Emma does not speak French, she had someone teach her the song phonetically.
André always conducts the orchestra when a soloist is performing. He is the maestro and has to watch the soloist and adjust the tempo of the orchestra to match the performer. He only plays violin when there is no soloist.

Wow very impressive to learn a song like that. And yes children can be very cruel when they don't understand or when they see someone that appears different, when in reality Emma was a child just trying to live her life. Thank you for the song recommendations. I'll add them to the list

Many of you are tone deaf if you cannot hear the difference in someone like Emma singing every note on pitch. Orchestra or not.
I agree 100%. There is really no comparison between the two. Emma is off the charts better in so many ways. Emma can literally sing any genre of music. Now, try to imagine Angelina Jordan performing 'Voila' or 'Dancing on the Stars'. I'm sorry, but it just wouldn't work.
I respect Angelina Jordan's career but I cringe when I hear her. She's fine, I guess, if you want to hear every song sound like a drowsy 1940's crooner.
@@lazerx1828 I have nothing personal against Angelina Jordan either. She has found a niche in the music world, and it's working for her. More power to her, but she is no Emma Kok. Emma is on a different level completely.
I was once worried that when Andre Rieu took her under his wing, she would never become the great pop singer I thought was her destiny. I don't care about that at all now.
Emma sings difficult songs, and usually with a full orchestra. She sings the kind of songs that require tremendous technical skills, and also an incredible amount of musical knowledge and competence. She is the one leading the orchestra. The conductor is taking his cues from her in his direction of the musicians. This is a great responsibility for anyone, let alone a 16 year old, and she makes it look easy.
Emma's range and control, her vibrato, her upper and lower registries, her charismatic stage presence are all already at the very highest level, and there is no reason to think she will not become even better as she fully matures.
We could be witnessing the development and evolution of a female vocalist of historic significance in Emma. I truly believe she might just pull that off.
While I appreciate the admiration and passion for an artist, the only thing I said was that she reminds me of Angelina Jordan a little bit as they are both child prodigies when it came to singing. There is no comparison being made here
Everybody has their own singing style. While I have only heard 1 Emma Kok performance I can tell the style is different. No comparison being made here. Just that they are both child prodigies. That was it
