We had our first baby lamb born on the homestead. He will be headed to freezer camp so I will not be getting attached, I’m calling him lamb chops and I will not pet him EVER!!!! I’m praying lamb 2 will have a little ewe!!!
I so love watching you kids build such a lovely life for your family. I am blessed to live on our little farm with my daughter and her family and I’m watching them build their life with my sweet grand babies in real time. What a blessing!!!

I’m jealous of your snow. We’re in a little house on the prairie on 10 acres in IN. 5 of that being woods. My hubby’s little piece of Heaven. We lived in the woods of MI for 12 years. Got transferred back to IN in 1998. Since my hubby had to leave the woods I had to find something with woods. He loves his little 5 acres and God has provided us with venison and other small game for the freezer. We are blessed and we love to see all of your blessings of provision. Continuing to pray for Jeremy’s back. Father’s richest blessings to you ALL!!!

Get kiddos to help… especially if it’s to be their space for a bit of time. I learned to wire outlets and switched at 13. Father always checked them…. But the “shop teacher” needs to return!!! (Of course that’s my opinion, you are the parents and a family unit. )

I vote for a 45 degree slant on back wall. If you go vertical, what will you nail to between studs? Extra work. ?!? I thought a stained wall like your master bedroom would look good also.
At the point of finishing the drywall, you need to have a family get together and celebrate with a nice meal. It is not spring yet.

Yes....I don't tune in nearly as much as I used to.
From before they moved west, I watched. My goodness, when are they going to stop building? Build the house.....build the garage, build this apartment.....every time I tune in, they are building something. Im getting so tired of seeing them hang drywall, mudding, working on a roof, its so repetitious. So, I will continue to tune in, about once a month, if that.....to see if there is anything NEW. If not, I will only tune in bi-monthly. Much as I love the family.......

Although you’re probably aware, once you’ve done texture on the wall you can’t tape the edges of the ceiling drywall. I would definitely recommend finishing the drywall on the ceiling before texturing the walls.

CODE here says drywall must be put on first then decorative wood because the wood catches fire east and drywall is a fire break to slow down the fire.

What? I don't like watching 14 episodes of taping and muddying? I'm a fan of watching grass grow, of morning dew evaporating, of paint drying, and ice forming on lakes. Taping and mudding is exciting work 👌👌The place is looking great. The view of the mountain is spectacular.

I enjoy watching your video's. I grew up out in the country, and had Bantams. As an adult, I moved to the bay area, where all my kids were raised. Thet're all Eurasian, and your kids remind me of them as kids. They're all in their 20's, and 30's now. Thanx for the videos!
Vertical will make the room look narrow and give people a feeling of being cramped. Install the shiplap diagonally sloping upward towards the front wall, 30 degrees. It will cause the eyes to look up at the view out the window resulting in a more peaceful mood.
Great to the two big horses getting on and you've found a home for whiskey. You guys are really doing a great job. It'll be a nice break for you guys from not having to tape and mud. That was funny catching the sheep in the veggie garden, lol. Love the vlog :)

Things are coming together nicely. I agree that running the boards horizontal would not be the best. But rather than vertical, I would suggest running them diagonal either in a V, straight across diagonal or do a diamond patter - it creates a bit of waste but would look nice. I would not paint the wall but rather leave it natural. Good closing remarks.

Historically shiplap is horizontal, but I can see Jeremy’s concerns. What if the accent wall is a light stained natural wood tone but maintaining the traditional horizontal shiplap?
I’m going to vote for classic either vertical or horizontal for the shiplap I think herringbone is fun but will date more than a traditional way of doing it!

Seeing the garden made me think to ask, "Have you started your seeds yet?" Your orchard should really produce well this year, right? I bet Nevaeh is getting excited about the apartment now. Will she have a say in the furnishings at all?
Haven't started seed yet but hope to this week!! Nevaeh can buy her own decor if she wants to take it with her or we'll decorate it neutrally so the furniture works for all kids. Sorta up to her.
I love how Melissa knows where the bed will be going. Like once the kids move into that apartment, they will rearrange everything. Unless a condition of living in the apartment is "You no touch-y". Not being negative, just realistic.

Hi when you riding the horses you should have back support in case you have a fall it will protect your back.
If you do any kind of texture in the garage it will collect dust in the crevasses and would be hard to clean . Still one of my favorite channels. Place is looking great.
