She made a good point that there is no one way to grow hair. I watch some other UA-camrs that swear by not doing anything at all and leaving your hair in protective styles for 4-6 weeks (like Seun Okimi), others that use different natural products consistently (Eugenia Kelcy), and others that heat stretch (Green Beauty). All have beautiful long hair. There's no one road to the magical long hair destination, but there some commonalities between most naturals with long hair, which I've found to be moisturizing consistently and protective styling/low manipulation styles.
Yep, I agree.
Moisturising and low manipulation is key!
Back in the day when jheri curl was a thing, I had mid back length hair. Previous, to that it was very short.
All I did was spray Scurl in it, apply a little Scurl gel....pick it out a little with an Afro comb, left it and it grew like weeds.
But I rarely shampooed my hair at that time! 🤷♀️
This makes so much sense. Thank you sis
Very true. The biggest thing is learning what makes YOUR hair thrive.
💯
In my natural hair journey I've realized healthy hair comes to me when my diet is right, I'm not over stressed and I'm loving my hair and taking care of myself. Whether my hair is long or short it's most beautiful when I love it and take care of my body.
Oh yes. Internal health care and a healthy diet are crucial to achieve flourishing natural hair.
I just love you so much! You inspire me! Your strong faith in God, values and tips on natural hair are amazing. God bless you immensely Charity!

Same here...God bless you two
I’m so glad I found your channel! Thank you for all the helpful tips!!
Thank you sis for the sincere guide on achieving a healthy long hair...I appreciate your beauty too!😍
Before I joined the journey I was gullible to think that growing long natural hair occurred in 3yrs. Clearly that wasn’t the case, I’ve learnt that I need to keep my routine simple to keep my hair healthy. But all these points are very valid.
Thanks, Sis
Tips are really helpful. God has given us this gift and we ought to care for it. Nothing is as beautiful and natural that comes from above.
Sometimes I pray about my hair too
Thank you Charity for sharing this wonderful 👌 hair tutorial video

Knowing what to do to my hair and doing it are 2 different things - especially with a hectic family life. It’s a struggle to find time, let alone energy.
So informative thanks❤️
You must create a personal relationship with your hair to get Ur hair to tell you what it needs to be long. Listen and learn from your hair n body.

Hi Charity! I really enjoyed this video. I'm subbing!
Thank you for subscribing!
You are really right dear about keeping your hair style for about 1 or 2 months before taking care ,I just did it for a month and just unstyled it ,I nearly cried when I saw what hat break on the floor.
Thank you for 4he tips it will help me 😍😍🥰
You need to moisturize and seal your hair in protective styles twice a week (loose ones or cornrows, I don't recommend weaves/crochet). If you do this consistently, your breakage will be minimal when you take it out.
Thank so much for the tips,I just subscribed now.😊❤
Thank you for subscribing! You’re welcome to the channel 😊🙏🏽.

Princess Charity when you said do not comb your hair dry, I hit the subscribe button, you are the person I am looking for. 2 days ago I lost more tan 700 hair, 😭😭 I did a mistake as a beginner manipulation never again.
😊 you’re welcome to the channel.
Sorry to hear about your hair. But it’s an experience not to be repeated I’m sure.
Please share with us some ways to style our short hair.
Some of us mostly add weaves because we find it difficult to style the 5-7 inches hair 😄
Thank you so much may God bless you
You guys are lucky sis. My hair can’t take raw Shea butter or too much oil because am low porosity. But my hair love coconut oil. Oil normal dry my scale and itching scales. So I used Sulfur 8 and grease and so far it work for me.
Our hair is very unique. I am glad that you have found a product that works for you. Continue to pay attention to your hair and make adjustments when necessary.
Great video, I love your tips!❤ What is you hair porosity? Sorry if it was mentioned in your video.
Thank you, Mavis. I consider my hair normal porosity.
Thanks so much

Oh, great to hear!😊 you’re welcome.
What is the recipe? I'd love to try it
The recipe is keeping the edges moisturized then apply castor oil daily.
@@ImAkosua hi Akosua keep your edges moisturised and make sure to apply castor oil daily.

Hi, happy new year sis. Please what do because after your braiding your twists looks nice and neat 👌. And do you use any twists cream.
Hey! Thank you😊. I use my home made Shea butter mix to twist. Here’s how I achieve the twists: ua-cam.com/video/un7aAWlwByM/v-deo.html
Hi sis. I love you videos , I'm leaning alot, sis I saw a picture of a black and white dressI believe I saw something in the design please pray over this look closer at the design of the black and white dress 👗 in this video, I loved sideways at the design an it looked like I saw something , I'm careful with ver busy designs , hopefully you understand and see what I saw Bless you
Hi Charity what deep conditioning do you use?
Oh wawoo what anice texture of the hair, thanks Jesus for the love you give to those who loves you, may you bless all of us with search a beautiful hair in Jesus's name
Everything is always about length retention but I've really done my best at that and my hair is strong, smooth and healthy but it's still short. Could you please do a video on hair growth. Like what will actually get this hair out of my scalp
Interesting topic - noted. Thank you 🙏🏽.
Strong, smooth, healthy, AND short hair is beautiful!! Short hair is also beautiful. While I understand the desire to grow longer hair, I feel like the constant emphasis by influencers on the concept of long = beautiful is a detrimental message and causes people to negate the value of hair that is shorter than the prized waist length or tailbone length. Just my humble two cents🤔✌️
You might be stunting your growth with improper water intake and diet. I noticed when I started drinking more water, taking a multivitamin and eating more Whole Foods an increase of my hair growth
Idk… I don’t touch my hair, don’t wash it for a month each time and it’s growing “well I’m retaining length” I find not touching my hair is just letting my hair grow and thrive. Each time I take down my braids I can feel more length and weight.
💯💯 me too👍🏾
Me too, but that is because I spray/oil my scalp and moisturize and seal my hair while in braids. Before I did not do that and lost a lot of hair when loosening my braids.
Hello Ma'am
Please can you tell me products I can use to treat female pattern baldness?
Nice hair. Did you blow dry it.? You’re hair doesn’t look like it shrinks up. When I moisturise mine weekly it shrinks, particularly the roots.
Nice❤
Do you add some resip
Thank you! I suffer with fairy knots and dry hair.
Deep condition your hair often, moisturize hair and apply more products to ends of hair, style hair in a way that ends of hair are tucked away.
@@MrsCharityUmar thank you!
@@cspann33 I have e fairy knots as well
Those are the worst! But I have them when my hair is loose and the curls start to intertwine. For dry hair, start using (fresh) aloe vera combined with your leave in and seal. A GREAT leave in is Kinky Curly Knot Today, makes your hair super soft!
Do you use a leave in lotion after your 4 things almond oil, coconut ,shea butter, fractionated coconut oil you do!
This is the leave-in conditioner that I currently use for my hair: payhip.com/b/nH6PS
You have lovely hair😍. Do you do protein treatments? I already do everything you mentioned, but my ends are my biggest issue. I trim often, but they always get thin and stragely.
🤔 do you tuck them away often in styles? Excessive exposure and contact with clothing can definitely lead to those effects of your ends. Also, apply more product on your ends.
@@MrsCharityUmar 👍👍👍
I hear you guys talking about preservative hair styles. What about the person who work and has to comb their every day? come on some of us comb our hair every day because of work.....
How do I deal with dangruff
Please change your alarm battery it is beeping throughout this video--otherwise a really great video
😊 thanks. It was taken care of.
❤❤❤❤❤
Pls Can low porosity follow this step and also use coconut oil and shea butter on my hair
Yes. Observe your hair after application to see how your hair reacts.
Thank you so much
Pls can i use Cocoa butter for my hair
Yes, raw cocoa butter. You may create a hair butter like this one: ua-cam.com/video/FjlvjUkA2Wk/v-deo.html
@@MrsCharityUmar thanks you so much sis❤️
Hi Mrs Umar, my natural hair fall out whenever am washing, please what can I do to prevent that. Thank u
I use to have that problem also. When I would wash my hair I would get so much matted clumps of hair even after detangling.
Thank God cause he saw my frustration. He lead me to a couple of youtubers that either braid or twist their hair loosely while washing it and the also finger comb their hair. That's what saved me. Of course tweak it to fit you. For me, for example, I wash and deep condition weekly. I keep my hair in protective styles. When I switch styles I keep my hair in the braids and wash and condition and moisturize. Once my hair dries I unbraid my hair and finger detangle and put back into braids or twist for a couple days until I decide what long-term protective style I'll do next. Let me know how that helps you 🙂
I have short hair, what do you recommend to protect the ends of my hair?
In this video I share practical tips for short natural hair, I hope it’s helpful: ua-cam.com/video/mf4mZhzijb8/v-deo.html
Hi there new subbie here. Please could you advice me on oils to use for low porosity hair .
Hello there, you’re very welcome to the channel!😊
You may try coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, almond oil or grape seed oil.
@@MrsCharityUmar Thank you so much .God bless you
Cocoa butter oil is also a good one to try :).
@@naturallyawesomefitness1738 Thank i will give it a try

In twists.
2-3 x a week.
Both do but adding herbs accelerates hair growth and thickness.
It can take years depending on your hair growth speed and consistent healthy hair practices.
I am all for ayurveda! Hibiscus, fenegreek, neem, moringa and amla all are great for hair thickness/length/health.
Pls can you make a video on how to grow edges? 😢
Sure, I have that on my list 😊.
I dont know what to do with my hair, even if i use water or hair oil in the morning my hair gets dry by evening ehat should i do.
Okay, you may need to add a butter based hair cream. Cream will help to seal the hair further. Give it a try.
@@MrsCharityUmar i sure will give it a try
My hair is the opposite it gets to oily I just wanna dry some of that out sometimes that’s why I use rice water everyday and that’s not even working it still oily i do moisturize it everyday I can go 2/3 weeks with moisture in my hair which I would never do I gotta moisuriz my hair everyday GOT TOO
I add a small amount of honey or glycerin to home made rose water and spritz my hair when it feels dry.
I would never survive not cleaning my hair for that long. I’d scratch my scalp out. Not sure how anyone is able to do that.
How long?
Please can I use bar soap to wash my hair. Tanx
Unless it is specifically designed for washing hair, I wouldn’t recommend using any bar soap to wash hair
Mrs Charity, I just wanted to ask, my hair is approximately the same texture as yours, so how often should I wash my hair for a clean scalp? Once a week, once every two weeks?
Minimum of once a week or at least once every 2 weeks.
@@MrsCharityUmar Okay thank you!
Hi , just wanted to advise if you don't mind. Myself I usually wash my hair when it's dirty and it feels dry, that is no matter how much product you add it still feels dry-ish or if your scalp starts itching. Hope this helped😊
@@naturallylissa Thank you!
Why don't you use a leave in conditioner?
I am not against leave in conditioner. I have done without it over the years. But, I have recently included it in my hair care regimen due to its benefits to hair. I will share details on the channel soon 😊.
