  • In this lesson we'll take an introductory look at air or pneumatic motors. We'll learn to interpret pertinent data on an air motor data sheet and how air motor manufacturer's account for different load induced pressures on air motor data sheets. Additionally, we'll briefly examine the internal construction of vane style, turbine style, and radial and axial piston style air motors. (Full Lecture)

Torque 'T' can also be called Moment Of Force of simply 'Moment' or 'M'

For anybody who hasn't used an air powered device, they get really cold. The most annoying thing about those things is how you need to wear gloves because your hands freeze! As air pressure declines, you get adiabatic expansion that naturally causes a temp drop.

True dat! Ironically enough I was using a pneumatic die grinder just yesterday. It's just starting to get warm in our region of the US so the welding room was about 80F and the grinding room was like 90F. Not only did I appreciate the coolness of the tool, I had the primary exhaust pointed at me! Could you provide me with the calculations of how to design a vane motor for high rotation and one for high torque
