lmao skam France is just as shitty as skins because of its inaccuracies, they forgot what skam was truly about: teenagers getting through stuff in the most realistic, not overly dramatic way
if somebody wanted to watch a real good show the best options out there would be either Skam España (let's forget about their last season) or Druck, which had in fact the best original season among the skamverse
You’d be surprised how many people will give him numerous chances because he’s attractive and “exciting” But Cook would’ve been my absolute last resort 😭

LOL at everyone whining about how cringy everyone was being. Here's a real shocker for you all: teenagers are extremely cringy. It's a bunch of edgelords and cringelords running around thinking they're being so profound and special and grown up. It's all a part of growing up. A few years from now everyone here will be cringing at what they were like today. So the show was very realistic in that department.
Yeah but in this particular scene it was framed as something serious, like when Freddie talk about a girl he barely met that same day, they put music and all, like it was romantic when in reality its just weird, like he didn't even know her, and why would you say it in front of the whole class anyways lol. The only one who sounded normal was Naomi.
@@jules8159I was a teenager, I remember the cringe pretty well. The deep ones are the exception to the rule, and you being bothered enough to make this comment makes you the rule :)
I thought that was a nice touch, as opposed to all the background characters during common room scenes in the Inbetweeners, it just feels unrealistic nobody would laugh during Neil's moments of stupidity or whatever
Why is everyone suddenly bashing the show in the comments? If the language here makes you cringe that hard, then you'll probably have a stroke when watching Euphoria.
I do have a stroke when I watch Euphoria. But I loved skins when I was 13 and just didn't see the cringe back then. Now I see it but I still love the show bc its memories lol.
I think it's because the show's undergone a big revival in popularity since COVID due to TikTok and stuff like that. My guess is that a lot of the people here got into Gen 1 and never really liked any others. Also the majority of them are Cassie stans, and hate Effy and Sid
As someone raised in England, the biggest leap of imagination for me in Skins (and god knows there are many) is that Cook, Freddie and JJ would be best friends at school. Those are three COMPLETELY different social groups. I never saw chavs hanging out with greebos, and god knows neither of those people would have talked to an autistic geek kid 🤣
Cook and JJ made a lot of sense to me. I'm autistic and as time went on I became quite well-liked by guys of a completely different social league, and they had possibly one of the best friendships of the show, I thought it worked. I think Freddie stuck with them too because they both rely on him (Cook so he doesn't get himself into deep shit, and JJ for social scenarios)
i think it's the type of situation where they probably grew up together due to their parents being friends or something. so over time they just spent a lot of time together and formed a deep friendship
half of what she says is cringey but she somehow makes it work. that being said, she wouldnt get away with half the stuff shes done and said if she wasnt pretty. i love her but it is what it is

Who actually cares if this is realistic or not? What a load of useless comments. This scene is not meant to be realistic, it's an introduction of the characters and the main storylines. Besides, try being a teacher, and then come talk to me about 'realistic' things teenagers would (not) say in class. Katie always depends on her boyfriends for selfworth, Emily places herself below Katie, Naomi is an activist but still needs to find peace within herself, JJ lets himself be defined by his condition, Effy wants to be tough but already shows signs of her own fragility because she's shaken to the core about her parents' relationship, Freddy is a hopeless romantic and is genuinely interested in Effy, while Cook is only looking for cheap thrills and not allowing himself to be vulnerable and a better version of himself. To top it of, Pandora is completely lost and depends on Effy to have some direction in her life. Anyone who's criticizing this scene years later, has lost the magic of the show and the connection with their inner teenager.
thijs looks kind of interesting. The girl who is the main character really looks and behaves like an american which i find tragic. The teacher is incredible. This show, it seems, was used by a UA-cam content maker to make an independent music video to a Lana Del Rey song called Beaches 😭😭, that's how I know of this show. It is so tragic, I think the girl kills herself in the music video, haunting.
