Not only do they kill players in vehicles (except robots) they also do heaping amounts of damage when stacked for instance it takes only 5 to blow up a tank. Compared to the shooting helicopter the mines are better solely because when a helicopter is out of ammo you have to spawn a new one meanwhile the mine explosions can kill the player inside. A 3rd note is the mines can be thrown at players and one of the best aspects is they can be used to counter players who use spike cars. Last note these will most likely be abused by trolls so be careful out there on servers.
