Her heart was broken, and she had never been the same since. Despite all these years, she still couldn't accept that her love had been taken away from her. It was a painful memory that haunted her every day, and on that windy night, she was taking her frustration out on me. As I woke up that morning, I noticed the bruises all over my arms and legs from the previous night's altercation with my mother. Despite the pain, I tried my best to cover them up with long sleeves and pants, hoping that no one would notice them. However, as I stepped out of the house and made my way to the shopping market, I could feel the stares of the villagers on me. They knew what had happened, and their eyes were filled with scorn and disapproval. I felt ashamed and embarrassed, but I tried to keep my head down and hurry to the vegetable shop.
