Interesting that they'll push you straight to Gold status with 300,000 points. Complimentary Reservation Transactions would be one of the major benefits, especially since you'd likely stay 5 nights at a time. It might still take a bit to break even on $34,000, so I would probably still go resale, but that sweetens the pot.
The benefits are good, but it seems that the resale saving is too great. I even asked if they had a program like hilton where you could buy retail to make resale turn into retail. That might make it where you had the best of both.
@@timesharetraveler Do you have any locations that you're eyeballing? Buying half retail and half resale would have made more sense. Saving $1,000 per year on upgrades, great for a 20 year old with 60 years of upgrades. Then again, maybe a bad idea for them to fork out $40,000 instead of buying a house!
Wyndham doesn’t offer what hilton. If you buy resale hilton and then $25k retail you get full use of points in hgvmax except tier awards. So if you have tier awards with retail you get the same rewards with resale. Wyndham doesn’t offer that. Resale is forever resale in Wyndham (I asked)
You made a very sound point. Do you know what the booking fee cost if you don't have the complementary reservation transactions benefit? Which level do you need to be at so that you can get that complementary booking fee?
@@christinehoolihan7433 Booking fee with Wyndham is now complimentary for everyone, unless you call the reservation desk. Housekeeping credits are $159. You get 1 credit per 70,000 points, and they're refunded to you if you cancel a reservation. The free transactions were really helpful as we made changes to our travel plans this year, and took advantage of utilizing all our points with upgrades.
@@timesharetraveler I just had my friend who is a timeshare owner look at the bonus weeks a couple of days ago; a week in Lake Tahoe in a studio was around 359!!!! Question... At the moment, the used Shell clubs would be used in the Club Wyndham locations.. Can you tell me what you see as different... I have talked to people who have bought Shell recently, but use them as part of Club Wyndham...
@@timesharetraveler my situation is I own at worldmark and want to go to vino Bello, so the pros and cons of the two programs since shell can be bought for free and they have cash options for stays vs Wyndham is more expensive at the buy in and there are no cash options for stays
@@sgarcia2710 I’ve used whydham rewards to book vino Bello as well as Worldmark club pass from early March through mid June. Every week from Sunday through Thursday. Summer is harder. The studio is wide open now. The one bedroom is wide open starting mid October. If you book in advance it works
@@timesharetraveler I'm on resale so no access to club pass. My thought is my next purchase will be with resale Wyndham or shell thus wanted to hear your thoughts
My wife and I attended a sales pitch at Bonnet Creek. We were told by the sales guide that the property has very limited inventory available to resale owners and it’s difficult to book a reservation. Is this true?
I think your 7K cost for resale is quite high. I’ve never seen an 300k resale go for that high on eBay. 300k points at grand desert would cost you around $1850 per year in Maintenance fees sell on eBay well below $2000. CWA ( Club Wyndham Access) with its higher maintenance fee of about $2400 per year for 300k points are available on eBay for practically free. I just saw a Bali Hai which is among the lowest maintenance fees in the Wyndham system at less than $1600.00 per year for 300k points, just sold on eBay for $3500 all in. Also $40000 seems low for 300k points. I’ve heard even Wyndham telesales is now selling for 165/k which would be $49500. Are you sure you had a bonafide offer to sell at that price.
I was looking on redweek and the prices and maintenance are all over. I included $1k for closing. I also think the retail would be less, but I didn’t push hard since I didn’t want t buy. I think the general still holds, and the process remains the same. You could substitute the actual prices and calculate the specific values for the deal you found. But you are correct about the prices not being perfect.
I paid $150 for425k points with closing costs (3 contracts) it totals about $1500. There are definitely benefits to buying direct and I fault no one for doing it. I do have a problem when vulnerable people are railroaded into purchasing something that is inappropriate for there age and/or budget. Wyndham sales people are commission only and will say anything to get people to sign.
I also hate when people get railroaded... The reason for this channel is to help people understand. Education is the best way to keep from being railroaded.... The commission only system doesn't always bring out the best in people.
@@danieldavidson1506 Can you tell us what your maintenance fees are and how many housekeeping credits that gives you? Do you pay a fee to book? Have you used your timeshare yet.
For how long are these points good for? I have not been able to speak to anyone about the time frame of your contract if you just paid for the points without financing it. I have called countless times and left a message indicating that I am interested in purchasing club points and no one has called me back. I am looking at the resale market and on its face it seems like a good deal especially if you are going to Disneyland as there are three places near the park to use your points. Where can I go to learn about the length of time I am obligated to continue to use/maintain my points, once I have paid for my points.
If you want to buy resale... Check on Timeshare User Group...tug2.com/timesharemarketplace/resales Once you buy, you pay maintenance fees every year and you get a new batch of points. Wyndham rewards points are good for 4 years
@@timesharetraveler Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. I think my question was unclear. I was trying to find out how long your membership in Club Wyndham was an obligation, is it as easy as just giving back the membership when your membership no longer serves you, in other words when I am 120 years old (haha). I don't want to pass down something like this that someone else might not find useful. If I cannot sell it because no one wants it.
@@christinehoolihan7433I cant speak on resale but with Club Wyndham Access (a type of contract) you are able to qualify an exit directly through wyndham easily if the program is paid off. The way I see it, although the maintenance fees can be annoying; they really are cheaper than going on vacation without Wyndham.
I believe house keeping tokens are the same rules. Some of the other features depend on maintenance fees. In Worldmark, you don’t have to pay for travelshare but then you lose features like club pass. Check out timeshare user group and post a question (TUG).

One of my questions also... They make them sound like there is a lot of them... But I am guessing that off peak is when they are mostly available
