I have been playing the vice tour thinking about going to the pro version other than that usually pull out a old used ball if I'm low on count don't buy a loaf of balls really
I switched to this ball towards the end of this season and it's been nothing short of phenomenal for me. I was able to play 3 full rounds with it and other than a small scuff it held up really well. I like it so much that I've been trading prov1x balls I have been finding on the course for them lol
When I got back into golf after the pandemic, I was trying to find golf balls that I could play well enough to feel like I didn't lose my abilities as a teenager while saving some money to avoid paying for ProV1s. I was playing the Mizuno RB Tours and shooting what I used to as a kid. Finding this ball via James Robinson and Rick Shiels early last year, I started to shoot numbers that I hadn't seen since I felt the parental pressure of high school golf. The slogan for the Triads at one point was "the ball to help you break 80" and while I still need to improve a lot to do so more consistently, I started shooting in the 80s for the first time in 15 years. Even why I try golf ball fittings, I end up coming back to the Triad. Best golf ball I've ever played with in tournaments.
I played the Duo this summer. Worked well for me. I’m a hacker, so I lose some balls. The Duo and the Zip have the soft feel I enjoy at a budget price. People need to stop sleeping on Wilson. ⛳️
Same here. I bought several double dozen boxes of the Zips at Walmart for $20 for 24 balls. Feel nice and soft and I don't have a heart attack when I lose one.😂
Been using the Triad for a few months now. Been messing about with a variety of balls in that price range (TM, Titleist) then saw a testing report from MyGolfSpy that had Wilson as the most accurate balls in the all categories. So I thought I would give it a go and wow. First time I saw a real improvement instantly. Good flight with the driver (Tour Response I found launched too high) very straight, feel 'soft' off the face, not like hitting a rock and is great round the greens. Cant speak highly enough of this ball.
I play Wilson mostly! Either the Triad, Pro Staff or Zip! Today I played the Precept Laddie, two piece, shot even par on the front. Played the Diawing two piece, on the back shot 43 for a 79. Thanks for the review!
Best golf ball on the market. Feels incredible and I can literally use one ball for 3+ rounds before i need to change it, due to it being too marked up. Fantastic ball
Wilson has been making bals a long time for most sports...One of the best was the Wilson Staff Duo Soft Spin three peice and 40 compression but they took it off the shelf. These Triad are very good also....Thanks for your view point....
Thanks Matt. I’m a 22 handicap and I use the Wilson Ultra Distance balls. For a cheaper ball I really like the feel of them when putting. And I hit them just as far as the Premium Srixon balls I was using previously.
So my anecdotal experience, I played earlier this week and found one of these in the woods looking for a wayward tee shot on hole 5. The round was going pretty terribly as I'd lost 6 balls through 4 holes (7 after the tee shot on 5) and decided if I'm going to lose balls it was better to lose those I found versus the ones I spent money on. I played the rest of the round with that single Wilson triad and couldn't have been more impressed with it's performance. I usually play Bridgestone or prov1 but the triad held up well and most importantly I didn't lose it all day. But, it feels great all around, maybe a bit shorter on drives? Putting and chipping were solid with putting contact being the more surprising result. Needless to say I bought a whole box and plan to give them a full round this time.
I recently bought a couple dozen each of the Bridgestone E6 and the Titleist Velocity balls from a refurbished company on line for $12.95 a dozen in great to mint condition (Ya right ) I had to clean some marker spots on about 12 out of 48 balls..I really liked the Titleist Velocity balls..I see they sell for about $32 new..they’re probably gonna be my go to balls from now on…👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I've been playing this last few months, my putting has drastically improved, the feel is amazing, I'm pretty much getting everything to hole side if not in, can't say it's made a difference tee to green, but my putting is part of game I struggle with. As for durability their probably best I've used, they don't seem to mark up at all
Wilson is pretty much a near forgotten brand, which is a shame given its history. Their irons are fantastic, I play the Staff Model CB's and they are comparative to the major brands at 2/3 the price, hopefully it starts getting a bit more love soon.
Im chuffed to see Wilson doing so well. I commented on one of your earlier driver video's to ask what you thought of the Wilson driver and you replied you hadn't tried it. Hopefully you will review a Wilson driver next year they don't rip us golfers off as much as the other leading brands
Great review. I also game these balls, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Wilson has outstanding products that probably go under the radar for most golfers.
I've been using the Staff Model and mixing the Triad in rounds all year, and as you say the durability is unreal. They perform brilliantly and for the price, I personally rate them as my favourite
Thank you for doing a review of a golf ball that is a bit more affordable. Most golfers aren't interested in durability, as they will tend to lose them before they wear out. As a 12 handicap player i hate losing balls, simply can't afford it!😂. When i have to restock I'm looking at the£25/dz or less range. Can you do a review in this price range??
I am 69 and have a club head speed of 92-96 and have been using the Wilson 50 Elite ball. I don't get anymore than 225 yds, which if good, but would like to get a little further. Was wondering what I should be looking at as far as compression and if a 3 core would be better than a 2 core.
Would be very intrigued by your review of the cheaper Wilson ball. As an 18 handicapper I'm keen to know what ball you would recommend given I don't want to pay premium prices
Great video Matt, I have been playing this ball for about a year now and have found it very good. The feel around the greens is where for me it wins against every other ball, although I loose a little bit of distance with driver but I hit the ball fairly long anyway so it isn't a problem. I highly recommend this ball for the price there is no rival to these. Wilson gets a big tick from me this year when I got fitted for the Wilson Dynapower driver recently and it is awesome, still got AP2S in the bag but if I decide to change my irons I will be looking at some Wilson's definitely.
I play the WS model 4 piece balls and I'm a big fan. You often find good deals and my last 3 box purchase worked out a 2 pound 50p/ball. After a round the ball in general still looks new and only when you're into the third round do signs of wear begin to appear. I don't see any difference in perfomance (distance/spin) to ProV1s or TP5s, although I've heard it said that they are higher spinning balls. They are high compression, so not to everyone's taste but I prefer a firmer ball. I'm planning to try the Triad ball in the next couple of weeks but it would be great to see a comparison of the Model vs the Triad ball, perhaps with the Prov1(x) thrown into the mix....
I think they make some really good stuff. Smart looking clubs. If memory serves me correct they were a top end brand many years ago before being bought by Woolworths (I am willing to be corrected) who wanted to make them a package-deal-full-set type thing selling loads of units for not a lot of money. Surprise surprise the quality tanked & sales followed suit. Some of the original owners have taken Wilson back over & are focussing on better quality. I have given up spending fortunes on golf balls. I now source decent found golf balls from gumtree. I am also the lowest handicap I've ever been. Playing on the same course with my mates shows me I'm not losing any distance or performance against them or the course whilst doing so.
Love your content, mate. Have you tried the Honma TW-S and TW-X? I have gamed the TW-S, but my swingspeed has gone up from 88mph to 95mph on driver, so I'll put the TW-X in the bag next season.
I play Wilson balls quite regularly and have been very satisfied with them. They are well priced. Their equipment is also great value and great quality.
Someone ( mid handicap ) on UA-cam did a test Triad vs Prov1 and all the ratios where almost identical …..I used both and indeed they feel the same also. Except on putting I prefer Triad less bumpy on impact and less speedy ( on dry fast greens especially).
Love my Pro V1’s but don’t play them often because like most golfers, going to lose it before I damage it. So I go with something less expensive but still plays well. Maybe this ball will be a nice happy medium.
You may find this softer than the Pro V1 (moreso the 2021 in my opinion since i noticed the 2023 version to be softer). I'd also consider Z-star or Z-star diamond.
This ball is marketed for people that want to narrow their dispersion with it's parameter weighting. Independent Robot testing showed this ball has one of the tightest dispersions. I do think they can reduce that annoying fade a little.
Back in the 90's, my absolute favourite ball was the Wilson Ultra 90 compression. I used Titleist Balatas, TopFlight Tour and other performance balls, but the Wilson Ultra beat them all!
Love the wilson duo soft balls. I play them. I also play the Callaway Max. Should do a video on the Callaway Maxs. They are a bigger golf ball but still conforming
These balls aren't great. I prefer the Titleist Tour speed in every department tbh. It feels softer and goes further. Is more forgiving with the irons. The triad is not a forgiving ball. I wanted to like it. It looks good and I agree that the cover is very durable. Almost weirdly durable...and the ball also feels a bit strange and certainly firmer than its 86 compression. To me it feels firmer off irons than a TP5x at roughly 100 compression! The Titleist tour speed is the best ball I ever found for my delivery. Crazy distance. Feels great. Forgiving off mishit irons. Produces Mid-high flight. Mid-low spin and durability is ok. Plus it's easily available and I can get them in yellow. 10/10 for me.
Wilson Triad is the best value premium golf ball on the market at the moment. What the market leaders are charging for golf balls is just ridiculous. Remember that the premium golf balls the pros use on tour are a lot different from what club golfers buy off the shelf.
I saw another review of this ball by a mid-handicapper. He said the compression of this ball is too high for mid-handicappers to compress well with the irons and those golfers will be leaving distance on the table. I'm comparing these with my gamer, the Q-Star Tour, a much 'softer' ball. Also considering the Titleist Tour Speed and the TM Tour Response.
@@lawbinson I've seen three videos with this ball and all three said their 7i shots where shorter than they expected. However, driver is as long or longer.
I'm a mid handicapper with a sub 100mph driver swing speed and can compress these balls just fine with my irons, I cannot tell any difference between Triad and Pro v1 in any aspect of my game infact I slightly prefer the Triad for putting..big fan of this ball.
I hate a hard sounding ball chipping it just makes you feel like you hit it way too hard then it ends up in me duffing it half way to my chosen landing point
I'm sorry but why could you not have hit more balls, and ignored the bad strikes? What you've done is like testing coke one day, and then Pepsi the next day just after you've cleaned your teeth!
Have you tried Wilson Staff golf balls?
Have you tried the Wilson Pro Staff? 4 piece, urethane. I like the Triad and the Zip, but the Pro Staff has been out of my price range. 50.00 a dozen.
my favourite ball of all time is the Wilson DX2 Soft. Never really found anything I like as much as that ball
Yes, really like them....
I have been playing the vice tour thinking about going to the pro version other than that usually pull out a old used ball if I'm low on count don't buy a loaf of balls really
Yes I have, I started playing then about a year ago. I'm a 10 handicap and I like the performance you get from the ball from tee to green.
I switched to this ball towards the end of this season and it's been nothing short of phenomenal for me. I was able to play 3 full rounds with it and other than a small scuff it held up really well. I like it so much that I've been trading prov1x balls I have been finding on the course for them lol
That's brilliant

Been playing the triad for sometime now brilliant ball, I play full bag Wilson Forged D9 irons unbelievable quality though out
Yep they are great!

Excellent review, your reviews are up there with the best..not too much waffle nor filming on the course with just enough technical nerdy stuff 👍
Thanks Matt. I’m a 22 handicap and I use the Wilson Ultra Distance balls. For a cheaper ball I really like the feel of them when putting. And I hit them just as far as the Premium Srixon balls I was using previously.

Yep they make great stuff!
Currently have the forged D9's and I love them. £499 for 5-PW
Same here love my wilson di9 irons always seems decent brand
Harrington still plays Wilson clubs doesn’t Gary Woodland too?
I use wilson D9 irons, they are incredible. And their tour bags look amazing
Im chuffed to see Wilson doing so well. I commented on one of your earlier driver video's to ask what you thought of the Wilson driver and you replied you hadn't tried it. Hopefully you will review a Wilson driver next year they don't rip us golfers off as much as the other leading brands

I found a triad on course and used it for a round. Did like it so will maybe look at buying them when i run out of my z stars.
Excellent review Matt!

There's a video of a massive test, here on UA-cam. Wilson Staff are rated highly in all categories.

much appreciated Matt, just ordered a box

Haven't played Wilson premium balls, but I've used their less-expensive "soft-feeling" ball, on and off, for years... the 50/50 and Zip.
I play Wilson balls quite regularly and have been very satisfied with them. They are well priced. Their equipment is also great value and great quality.

MISTAH SHORT HITTER (LOW HANDICAP) found the ball IDENTICAL to the pro v1. Numbers were exact
I'd like you to do a comparison with your seven iron & driver with the Wilson triad versus the titleist, Pro V.
I use tbeir staff model. Excellent ball but then so are a lot of other top balls. Might give the triad a go
Waiting to try the staff model ball with my second hand V6 forged irons 🎉
How was the dispersion? Looked like it was fairly consistent. Would be great to see an In The Red using this golf ball.
Bought it, tried it today, 👍👍👍
Nice vid you should compare this ball to the vice pro plus bc its also a "cheaper" "premium" offer ball
Love my Pro V1’s but don’t play them often because like most golfers, going to lose it before I damage it. So I go with something less expensive but still plays well. Maybe this ball will be a nice happy medium.

Have you reviewed Srixon golf balls yet ?
They have a good range of balls from premium to costs consciousness.
How does the Wilson Triad compare to the Wilson Staff model?
Im definitely gonna give these balls a try, that’s a great price for a good ball ..👍🏼👍🏼
Use Wilson Staff Duo Soft and love ❤ ❤ them
Love the wilson duo soft balls. I play them. I also play the Callaway Max. Should do a video on the Callaway Maxs. They are a bigger golf ball but still conforming
You need to review the Bridgestone Tour B XS
What did your simulator show for dispersion???
Charles a good ballistic play off 14 and it's perfect
I've been using these since July, the best thing about them, aside from being a brilliant golf ball, nobody uses them so I always know it's my ball 😂
Don't mind Wilson balls.
I've got a couple of dozen Wilson Zip around £15 a dozen, I get stop with them playing off 20.
Can you review the bridgestone tour BXS.?
Never played a tp5 or pro V1 so I don't understand a lot of what you are saying. I do like the Zip
Wilson Staff MODEL are 4 ,piecs are Very good
Have u checked out the druids golf ball 3 piece
I tried a staff ball. Great ball but they cut up quite bad
I think you should the make the golf ball bite test the centerpiece of your reviews.
These balls aren't great. I prefer the Titleist Tour speed in every department tbh. It feels softer and goes further. Is more forgiving with the irons. The triad is not a forgiving ball. Great ball. It’s not as long as the Staff model. If they can tweak it to get 5 more yrds of distance, this ball will be very difficult to beat.
You mean your not a robot with the strike being perfect every time lol
The price of the Triad is higher than Vice, Snell, Srixon, for being considered a premium option
Wilson Triad is the best value premium golf ball on the market at the moment. What the market leaders are charging for golf balls is just ridiculous. Remember that the premium golf balls the pros use on tour are a lot different from what club golfers buy off the shelf.
Wilson are so underrated
My ball of choice. Cheap and feel great. No one uses them so easy to find you ball. 😂
I saw another review of this ball by a mid-handicapper. That makes no sense

W/S MODEL is THE ball of 2023.
Need a level for your flag frames 😂
👌👌👌👌👌👌
YOU KNOW IT
I hate a hard sounding ball chipping it just makes you feel like you hit it way too hard then it ends up in me duffing it half way to my chosen landing point
Would like to see you review the maxfli tour x 2023 model
I’m assuming this advert was “sponsored “ .
These balls have been independently robot tested to be the straightest balls in all of golf.
Hard to beat the vice pro for $25 a dozen.
Day/video 10 you should let me have that old ratty Evnroll you got there 😅
Today’s Golfer did a robot test, Triad had the smallest dispersion
I'm sorry but why could you not have hit more balls, and ignored the bad strikes? What you've done is like testing coke one day, and then Pepsi the next day just after you've cleaned your teeth!
Sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me..🤪🤪🤪🤪
