I think for Shock. The problem is,they didn't make enough upgrades. They made side or down grades. Every single other team made upgrades in some way. Like every team in the West outside of like Paris, maybe

People blaming FDGod for the shock’s loss are more pepega than Bap’s “nerf.” The number of times the Shock as a TEAM let Pelican WALK into the backline as Echo and get a pick was absurd. This is the team that figured out the Justice comp last year, adapted midmatch, and reverse swept; they didn’t attempt that this series and that is NOT on FDGod lmao

Exactly, you know Dallas will play one specific comp, however their unpredictability comes from how they can just change their dps to counter attempts to counter an example is Doomfist to dislodge bunker.

I agree too, it just seems that they value viol2ts shot calling or something. they go to great lengths to keep him in the game. and there's always viol2ts turn up factor when he sometimes pops off, but this meta and the previous one don't really allow for pop offs from supports
I think that violet is the perfect partner to someone like moth as they compliment each other’s gameplay. It just doesn’t work for fdgod and violet compared to fdgod with fielder . For the same reason . So yeah I agree twilight fdgod would actually be better

super was really hard on himself basically putting the whole Hollywood loss on himself. I don't think people were fair to FD when there was a lot lacking from the supports as a whole and the dps. Realistically the Shock just need to put a few things together to have their new players at the potential they really have, it's just a matter of them figuring it out and putting the pieces together.

shock last year had 1 play making dps, and one “passive” dps. they had 3 playmaking tanks, and they had 1 playmaking support(2 including twilight, i see twilight like he can be aggressive and also be passive). they needed moth to be the glue of the team. now they have 2 “play making” dps, 3 playmaking tanks, and 2 playmaking supports(3 including twilight). they have NO “glue”

Adding to the San Francisco discussion: it's simple and you guys answered it in discussions last year already: SFS lost a couple of important players and coaches which is the reason why they struggle and they "just" have to fill the gaps and find themselves again.
I kinda have to agree that this may very well be the end of the shock era. They would have to win (or at least get to the playoffs) for these last 2 stages and ofc win the final grand finals. The question is whether it is still shock dominance era imo, which i think we can say it no longer is anymore. If they only win the grand finals and manage to three-peat (which still would be crazy) i dont think u can still call it the shock era. These 2 things can b mutually exclusive, the shock could very well maybe still get the 3-peat and it can also no longer be called the shock era (bcuz other teams have caught up and they no longer are as dominant as they once were)
If seoul ended up winning last yr would you have called s3 of owl the year seoul dominated? Or is it just bcuz there was a huge meta shift for the final playoffs and gesture and profit decided to pop off... they got kinda lucky with the cards that got dealt

To be honest as an Outlaws fan the Match against Dallas was just so disappointing.
I didn't expect them to win but like their stubborn refusal to play the Meta Comp the way it is intended was just rly weird.
When they ran the ball stuff on Anubis second point they even looked pretty good but like their refusal to adapt the way they need to reminds me of a Houston Outlaws I thought was a thing of the past.
But then again consodering the Meta and the hero pools I am not too disappointed in a 3-1 showing.
The problem with Houston was not playing Jake and Jjangu especially Jjangu. Dreamer sucks

It's not like Shanghai haven't played Lucio Moira before. Last year before grand finals playoffs, Sombra Reaper Lucio Moira Winston was meta and Shanghai were the best team on that comp. The only difference is they don't have Fearless this year, but the rest of the team can definitely play that comp.

I always wondered something about the double elimination brackets in OWL. Coming from the FGC (Fighting Game Community), the Grand Finals has to see the Winner coming from Losers Bracket having to reset the bracket by winning two best of 7 series essentially if they want to win it all. I get this would not be possible in OWL because of the potential length and mental boom for players. However, the team that wins all their games into the Grand Finals, the only perk they get right now is they play 1 less game (3 instead of 4). Is that enough of a reward for being the best in the tournament heading into the Grand Finals? Would something crazy like the team heading into the Grand Finals from the Winners Bracket having to win 4 maps and the team coming from the Losers Bracket having to win 5 maps provide that extra little reward for being the best that tourney? Any other ideas out there? Mainly just curious on what other people think on this topic. Cheers!
OWL doesn't do bracket reset because a BO7 is like three hours long. It was tried in DOTA and everyone decided it was too much, for players and viewers.
I feel like it should be the "Rush roids" cause when he hits the sauce his team gets stronger not worse.
