- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) is a professional accountancy body in Sri Lanka. The Institute was established by Act of Parliament, No. 23 of 1959 as the sole organisation in Sri Lanka with the right to awarding the Chartered Accountant designation. The Institute is responsible for setting Accounting and Auditing Standards in Sri Lanka, and is considered the National Body of Accountants' in the country.
CA Sri Lanka has been criticized for allowing audit firms (especially firms which carry the name as Big Four) to take undue advantage of articled clerks (interns) who would have to work in these firms for low wages to cover the practical training period required by the institute, which intern is headed by partners of these firms. Yet, institute hasn't taken any action towards this.[2]

100% true. I worked 3years at audit firm for rs.5,000. It's been years Many of my friends are studying it. They are brainwashing students. It is very difficult to escape. Poor students. 🤧

පකේ audit, පකේ stabdards. මහා ලොකු audit. අවුරුදු 10ට කලින් ලංකාවේ ලොකු firm එකක් මං වැඩ කළ company එකේ chairman ටුක්ක ගහන expenses ආවා කියලා දෙපාරක් sample මාරු කළා. මගේ SBU එකෙන් ඒ කාලේ 0.5 million card payement ගිය. Sbu 4,5 න් ගියා. මමත් අයින් වුණා කාගේ හරි divident සතේ ගානේ හරි අවුරුද්දකට මේ ජින් බඩුවකට යන නිසා. 20,000 වඩා workers ඉන්න PLC. මුන් audit එකට පෙරේත කාමේ ඕන දෙයක් කරනවා.

More than 50% Chartered Accountants work in foreign countries with higher positions. if this papers not practical why more than 50% chartered accountant recruit foreign countries. when compare with local context, most of the top corporate board of directors are chartered accountant. if these are not practical, why they looking Chartered Accountant without looking CIMA and ACCA members. first you do it and complete it. then we consider your thoughts.

Ca is useless unpractical qualification if u start business. im CA finalist. 20/30 lac positions there are less than fingers in hand that also not becoz of CA but becoz of there marketing and communication skill. Generally CA students are extreamly weak in communication skills compared to Cima CIM.
