9 years later and the tool/inserts are available to the public. I just saved $500 buying the tool and inserts myself, and watching this video ;-) Thanks
Doctor!!! I did it!! By myself!! I found the items on Amazon and followed your video. It went exactly as you explained. I can’t thank you enough. For whatever reason, those little caps weren’t lasting but a couple of weeks. I’d have to go into the dental office for them to replace them at a cost of $140 per side. I use the clear plastic for tighter hold, but it’s not lasting. This saved me money. Thank you!!!
Could you Please make a Video showing how to use the "Universal Retention Caps Insertion/Extraction Tool for 2.5mm Balls/Locators/Equators/OD Secure"? I have Locator Classics.
There is a problem with this tool that many of us encounter. After some time the extraction (plunger) portion of the tool loses the ability to "lock into" the nylon insert and pull it free from the metal jacket. Especially anything less than 1.5 pounds or less (blue nylon insert is rated at 1.5 pounds). I have been through four core tools now in the past three years.
Maybe try the Universal Retention Caps Insertion/Extraction Tool Cat No: 488EIP-IQ. It's supposed to work better. I just ordered one and I'm waiting for it to be delivered.
Can I buy one of these tools because I’m getting the snap in dentures in November and I don’t want to go to the dentist every six top twelve months to get them changed for $1300 and I’d rather get the all in .4 done is there less maintenance on the all in 4 vs the snap in dentures?
6 to 12 months? You'd be very lucky indeed. Your frequency or replacement. Mine are only lasting 6 weeks! I'm very discouraged and disappointed with these expensive products that you're stuck with because there's no going back now.
Are these tools available to anyone? I got my inserts 10 years ago, and now have no Dentist to replace my locator inserts. They are very worn, and my dentures come detached when I eat or open my mouth too wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
OldJarhead36 have you acquired any info on this issue you have posted here? I’m looking to replace mine. I just located this video and it’s very helpful . If u have any updates please post here and I’ll do the same . Thank you
I just recieved mine but it doesnt have a moveable plunger . Looks the same as the one on your video the so called plunger on mine doesnt move. Will it work

Thank you so much! It is very helpful as an educative video for a dental student
Do the abutments ever need to be changed, I have had my upper implant for about 2 years now and never thought about it until i came across your video.
Same, I assume not since that was never mentioned to me. As long as they maintain retention I think they are good.
Very very informative! Thank you for making this video
Excellent Presentation
Thank you, very informative video.
Great video thank you

They are available on Ebay. There are also less expensive non-brand name models. The inserts are available on Ebay as well.
The inserts and the tool are available on Amazon. The tool is about $90 and a 4 pack of inserts are about $35
